  1. i don't know how I'm going to comment this 'cause that dream destabilized me completely and I was a mess during the rest of the episode, but here it goes!
The dream: did we sinceriously got ANOTHER kiss???? Yeah we did! Uhuuuuuul, bring aaaaalll the gifs!
Ok, so, Maseo is totally chilled about saving Oliver and that's odd, but apparently the league already knows Oliver is alive so brace yourselves!
I know a lot of people is mad with the whole Raylicity thing, but can you guys blame Ray? I used to think I was straightforward until Felicity, how can you not crush on that girl???
Btw, her scenes with Laurel were not only great but also amazing and I want so much more!
Kudos to everything Laurel related, I'm enjoying her this season yeeeey Laurel! You go Laurel!
With that said, can we tell Lance about Sara? I'm never getting over this.
Malcolm super shady Merlin, what you're up to? I'm glad Thea is not blindingly following him, though.
I can't wait for next week 'cause episodes with Oliver Queen > episodes without Oliver Queen!!!!

  2. Did anyone else see that twist with Chase (DJ guy who kissed Thea) coming? I never thought he would be working for the League.

    ReplyDelete
  3. darn that asian promo that spoiled the DJ twist

    ReplyDelete
  4. A short fanfic re-enactment for which I literally laughed out loud.

    ReplyDelete
  5. It was a quick scene to humanize Oliver and his state of mind: he wants to have a normal life but he can't(it's the goodbye from 3x09 but he says he will stay before he got stabbed in the chest and bled to death).

    ReplyDelete
  6. Now that the writers smartened up and gave Laurel and Felicity more than a few seconds together, what is the inevitable ship called? Lauricity?

    ReplyDelete
  7. I know and i am mad at all of them.

    ReplyDelete
  8. I dont know but reached my limit with it. Gossip Slade could solve so many things.

    ReplyDelete
  9. Enjoyed the episode a lot (minus the lying to Quentin, but i'm going to pretend that didn't happen for now)

The dream. oh the dream. so sad
    Maseo and Tatsu :(
Roy was actually good in this episode and Colton actually acted lol. loved the Roy/Malcolm confrontation
Liked Laurel in this episode, glad they showed her in experienced fighting style
Ray and Felicity helicopter scenes was hilarious
Felicity encouraging Laurel was great, and her joining the team was good
Like the laurel/Roy team up was good.
Sadly Diggle didn't get as much to do though
Maseo/Dj twist was great! (although I sadly was spoiled)
Glad Thea kinda stood up to her dad even though she is still clueless

  10. AHHHHHHH!!!!! I want to pull out my f**king hair!!!!! I can't stand this!!!! Oliver is going to be pissed! I'm pissed!!!! This is RIDICULOUS!!!!

I am pissed off at Felicity right now!!! She did the one f**king thing, that I KNEW she would do!! That I FEARED she would do!!!! From last week's promo And nowwww she's dragged into Laurel's bullshit lies!!!! The whole Voice modulator scene, pissed me TF OFF!!!! I do NOT feel sorry for Laurel f**king Lance!!! What she's doing is unbelievable and just FLAT OUT WRONG!!!! And until she tells her father wtf happened to Sara, I will continue to loatheeeeeeeee her!!!!! Felicity, I cannot believe you, you fell for her tears. And her stupid speech!! Don't even get me started on the ending scene with Quentin!!! HE DESERVES TO KNOW!!! It's gone on LONG ENOUGH!!! GAH!! I wanna scratch my eyeballs out! I WANT OLIVER BACK NOW!!!!!

Okkk, got that off my chest. Now for things I did like. I enjoyed Roy very much. Finally got my jacket walk. Hehe. Him talking to Malcolm was a Oh Shit moment! I enjoyed that immensely! He was watching out for Thea just like he promised Oliver. I also love how the News reporter referred to him as "RED ARROW"! Hahahahaha, I caught that right away. Love it! Thanks for that writers.

Diggle and Roy- Bromance moment was too sweet. Having a drink for Oliver with the Russian liquor. That was really nice. They needed that. Hell I needed that. I think that was my favorite scene of the night, tbh.

Felicity- I felt her grief through half the episode. It was sad. She just seemed so tired, and out of it. I'm glad she came back to rejoin her team. It wouldn't be Team Arrow w/o her. (I also love when she wears her hair like that, why she still hasn't worn it like that in front of Oliver is beyond me) But seriously, I'm really pissed off with you right now. So that's all I'll say about you.

Malcolm and Thea- He came clean. I'm just glad he didn't come clean about Oliver. That's what I've always respected about him. He has some type of honour in that. (Unlike Slade). I wonder how long he'll keep it up. Thea....I'm really not liking you right now either. I'm still mad at you.

Liked all of Oliver's scenes, including the flashbacks. But his "death excuse" that Tatsu used was soooooo lame, I seriously had to roll my eyes. And the funny thing is some fans said that right after The Climb episode. Smh...that was true comic book lore right there. W/e I shook it off. He's alive, that's what matters. Really liked Maseo as well.

Give it up for Dj Douchebag for still being a douchebag. But TWIST! We all thought he was working for Malcolm, turns out we were wrong. I really liked out. Actually I caught myself popping my eyes out of my head, and saying, Oh really??...That I did not expect.

Sigh. I didn't like this episode. My VIP goes to Quentin. B/c I feel sorry for him.

    ReplyDelete
  11. Gossip Slade *_*

That NEEDS to be turned into a show

    ReplyDelete
  12. What is this I'm reading about a kiss? I didapparently miss that and I'm glad I did, because that being the first I read in the comments crushed all my positive thoughts about the episode. It was good, fun, Laurel was great, loved that Thea and Merlyn decided to stay,DJ Douche needs to die aaaand yeah. Good episode. Still..so a kiss between who and who? Why does that matter so much? (to other posters and apparently me because it totally disrupted my mental state wich was kept calm due to hours of meditation)

    ReplyDelete
  13. Stop lying to Quentin for god sake. The lying over the phone thing was bad enough, but then
to fool him in person? Fuck it that shit was disgusting.

    ReplyDelete
  14. Another solid episode in the trilogy. I'm loving Laurel's development. Great flashback scenes. Kelly Hu is so gorgeous! The action/stunts were amazing. Brick has been a great baddie. I'm kind of hoping they don't kill him off. :) I wish that Asia Promo hadn't spoiled Chase's turn. But that was a very cool twist. The promo for next week looks real epic! I can't wait! #TeamArrow

  15. Oliver and Felicity in a dream

    ReplyDelete
  16. Colton actually acted in the Malcolm/Roy scene lol

    ReplyDelete
  17. now they're all in on it lol

    ReplyDelete
  18. Hmm, strange that my username's in the title. Is there a story behind that? Btw, I'm a few episodes behind on Arrow so I can't really comment on the latest ep.

    ReplyDelete
  19. I really want to know what they think will happen when they tell him the truth eventually. How long can one spin a lie?

    ReplyDelete
  20. I can't believe I'm saying this: I really like what the writers are doing with Laurel.

    ReplyDelete
  21. What a great episode! THIS GOES TO SHOW THAT WHEN ARROW IS SERIALIZED IT'S ONE OF THE BEST SHOWS OUT THERE!!

Felicity and Laurel sharing scenes FINALLY! Great what they're doing with Laurel... The Ray/Brick scene was great Jajaja

And the helicopter scene with Ray and Felicity? That was hilarious. That's the Ray i want, a funny guy. That's when the character is at it's best. It seems they stoped with the whole weirdo angle now that he let Felicity in on the secret. But their scenes felt a bit disjointed from the Brick story.

Loving Oliver and his relationship with Maseo and Tatsu. Guess his sons are gonna die after all. Malcolm and Thea teaming up?

SOOOO!!! WILDCAT RETURNS NEXT SEASON AND EVERYTHING IS WORKING OUT AS I PREDICTED IN OCTOBER 2014, HUGE HUGE BATTLE INCOMING XD

    ReplyDelete
  22. Yes, i really miss Oliver. This episode seemed really off. Althought i have to say, Laurel is having some surprising scenes. But come on, Please tell Quentin the truth about Sara already! This is getting too far!

    ReplyDelete
  23. they spoiled in the Asian promo for the show lol. but i was really surprised when I saw the promo

    ReplyDelete
  24. I hadn't seen the Asian promo so I was actually surprised...I thought he was a plant BY MERLYN not FOR Merlyn

    ReplyDelete
  25. OMG Gossip Slade!! But wait, how would he know? Sara died after he was locked away...

    ReplyDelete
  26. Laurel is surprisingly awesome this season I'm pleasantly surprised at least Olivers disappearance has had everyone receive nicer storylines and I hope it continues

    ReplyDelete
  27. Its Arrow the bad guys always find a way.

    ReplyDelete
  28. Loving Laurel's story this season and I like watching her fumbles (that truck bit was great) but I'm excited to see her fight skills grow. Roy was really good this episode as well. Thank God Thea isn't stupid enough to just follow Merlyn. Glad Felicity's back on the team (that moment with Laurel was great) and I'm excited to see Ray get more involved in the story. Finally, did not see that thing with DJ Douche coming...I said somewhere else on this board that I thought Merlyn planted him on Thea not that he was planted on Merlyn. And I really don't want to see what happens when Quentin finds out Sara's dead...

    ReplyDelete
  29. That was AWESOME. Seriously, I loved everything about this episode! Well not Quentin still not knowing that Sara is dead and Laurel tricking him but I'll get to that later.

Roy and Laurel teaming up and trying to save the Aldermen and fighting Brick's men was hands down my favorite part of the episode. And the showdown between Black Canary and Brick?! So cool. And I liked that she made a few mistakes along the way. She's not a badass right off the bat. Makes it more legitimate IMO. With more practice and training everyday, I'm sure she'll be a heroine in her own way. And seeing Oliver's reaction to Laurel taking up the Black Canary title when he comes back to Starling City next week should be interesting. Also, Red Arrow name drop!

Now I'm kinda regretting watching that Asian promo because it totally spoiled the ending! I knew that that scene was going to be the cliffhanger for the episode when the final minutes of the episode were Chase and Thea at Verdant. I should really stop watching the Asian, New Zealand, and Canadian promos and just stick with the CW ones from now on haha. But anyway, I'm very interested in seeing how Chase is a member of the League of Assassins and seeing it further develop. Here's hoping that Merlyn kills his ass once he finds out! He's really not going to be happy and it's going to be great to watch haha.

Now for Quentin. Now I know it was messed up to mask Laurel's voice and use Sara's to call Quentin and get more information, but that scene where she is suited up as the Black Canary and looks down upon him and STILL is using her voice just really hurt and so cruel. It's a damn shame that Quentin still doesn't know that his daughter is dead and I really thought that this episode would be the big reveal and it would be the cliffhanger. But alas, it wasn't :( And it's even worse because Felicity, Dig, and Roy all helped her. Ugh.

Oh and that dream in the beginning! I was all giggly and happy that we were seeing an Olicity kiss but I immediately screamed when we saw Ollie still had Ra's sword in him and you saw him gush out his blood from his mouth! I would really not like to see that again please and thank you. Also, I'm glad that Thea now knows somewhat about Ra's al Ghul from Malcolm and I was REALLY happy to see that he didn't tell her that Ollie is the Arrow. That's supposed to be Ollie's job and he'll tell her soon I hope.

Loved that scene where Felicity is asking for Ray's helicopter keys and he tells her that helicopters don't actually have keys haha XD "I'm gonna to hold you to the no crash promise" and where Roy and Dig are having a drink in Ollie's honor. Such a great scene.

Next week, Ollie is finally back to Starling City! Woohoo! I've missed you. This is gonna be epic!

    ReplyDelete
  30. I agree it's time. But look at Laurel she doesn't want to lie to him, it's killing her and she's afraid (for probably good reason) that it will kill Lance.

    ReplyDelete
  31. He might have a heart attack.

    ReplyDelete
  32. IDGAS!! It's been over 3 months!! There's absolutely nothing you could say that would make me be less angry with her. This whole thing has gone completely out of hand. What do you think's gonna happen to him when she tells him the truth??? From all the liessssss she's built up concerning this matter!! See i knew this shit was gonna happen, I told you that last week! And YOU wanted me to wait for the episode, and i did, and the shit turned out the way i thought it would, except times TEN!!

    ReplyDelete
  33. Well, people started bashing at Marc Guggenheim on Tumblr for that... All he says is "sorry" to a lot of people... That made me feel a little better. At least he knows is bulls**t.

    ReplyDelete
  34. I have a love/hate relationship with MG. His "sorry" isn't helping, and doesn't make me feel better about any of it.

    ReplyDelete
  35. You will hate her anyway. It's just your excuse right now. Lol

    ReplyDelete
  36. Yeah uh huh. I "seen it from her side" when Sara actually died. I gave her a pass. I let her wait it out. BUT that's over!! Again..there's nothing you can say, that will make me less angry at her. Nothinggggg. Everything you're saying. That's over. That excuse does not hold over anymore. Not at all. Not anymore.

    ReplyDelete
  37. What makes me feel better is that at least people are mad at him and they're telling him that. I told him too(and I also add that Ray is great when in scenes like the helicopter one today, not when he's having space troubles and proceed to enumerate all the weird s**t he did over the course of 11 episodes Jajaja Obviously he didn't responded Jajaja).

I told him every chaarcter now where a*sholes for doing that to Quentin xD

    ReplyDelete
  38. True. But, my main issue with her right now is this. And this needs to be settled. RIGHT NOW!! And b/c I love Quentin so much....I'll defend him to the ground. Everyone knows except for him, THE ONE MAN that deserves to know. It's F*cked up period! And it's sure as hell not an excuse.

    ReplyDelete
  39. The funny thing is people took on Tumblr and started telling Marc how pissed they all where with that... He said "Sorry" to a LOT of users xD

    ReplyDelete
  40. And the team has yet to tell Laurel that Malcolm killed Sara. Letting him get away with the crime

    ReplyDelete
  41. Are you also upset at the team for lying to Laurel about who killed her sister?

Or angry and Quentin for lying to Laurel last season that Sara was alive.

    ReplyDelete
  42. Okay. Fair enough.

    ReplyDelete
  43. Ummm...He's not getting away with shit. There's clearly no actually time to tell her. PLUS...Malcolm is still be hunted, his punishment is coming. AND they just found out, then what happened?? Oliver freaking died.. Okkk, sooo yeah of course they wouldn't bring it up now. ALSOOOOO, no matter how you put it, Laurel will know very soon, and they sure as hell won't be waiting over 3 months to tell her!

    ReplyDelete
  44. I'm just saying see it from her perspective. I get why you're mad (and I agree he needs to know) but she's afraid if she tells him he might well just lose it psychologically and physically. As in die or never recover. While I disagree with not telling him, it's not like Laurel is doing this maliciously or enjoying it.

    ReplyDelete
  45. Loved the scenes with Felicity and Laurel hope we see more of that and I'm liking what the writers are doing with Laurel happy Thea and Merlyn is going to stay even though I don't like his character he does seem to care for Thea and even Oliver kinda figure Chase the DJ guy had agenda love Oliver relationship with Maseo and Tatsu

    ReplyDelete
  46. I know this is tin hat, but it makes absolutely no sense for them to be going this far in fooling Quentin that Sara's alive if she's not ultimately somehow coming back. I hate that Laurel continues to keep him in the dark, and I hate that Felicity's in it now. It is the most ridiculous part of this season.

I didn't love the episode, I didn't hate it. Laurel didn't bug me outside of being a fucking terrible person for continuing to perpetuate this stupid lie, and now the whole team is in on it. Ugh. I do feel like something was off with Oliver not around, so I'm glad he's coming back next ep. I liked Malcolm a lot, and I hope Thea gets clued in sooner rather than later.

I really hope Maseo and Tatsu work things out. What terrible thing happened to their son?

    ReplyDelete
  47. Right. Imagine something like that:
"Laurel, your sister is back. I need her help to save the city."
"Oh, dad, about that... She is dead, I am doing her job now. But I don't have time to talk to you, or to hug your right now, I have to stop Brick. Dinner later?"

Oh, yes. That would be a great scene.

    ReplyDelete
  48. He dreams he didn't leave. They kiss he gets stabbed.

    ReplyDelete
  49. I hated Laurel not telling Quentin but there was an out-of-control passiveness to it that while, not cool, was easier to overlook because I felt like she maybe at one point might have told him and it just snowballed away from her. Actively deceiving him by pretending to be Sara is actually disgusting and sad.

    ReplyDelete
  50. That was awesome.

    ReplyDelete
  51. Felicity Smoak, complimenting heroes since 2012. Even Laurel's Canary.

    ReplyDelete
  52. People get mad at Marc for a lot of things. I think he gets off on it. Yeah Ray was fine tonight. I too, didn't mind the helicopter scene.

    ReplyDelete
  53. Ok let's examine this.

-Sara got killed, She had to grieve, didn't wanna say anything. Cool I get it.

-Sara gets buried, has a funeral. Laurel wants to find out who did it before she tells her Dad. Ok get that too.

-Sara's still dead. Quentin calls her constantly no answer.

-Quentin asks Laurel. Have you heard from Sara? No Dad I haven't.
-Quentin to Laurel, She isn't answering my calls, are you sure you haven't heard from her? No dad, I'm sure she's fine.

-Laurel starts her boxing lessons to avenge her sister's death. Her father sees her stress, lack of work, but still won't tell him, fine. She almost gets killed with her target practice first time out.

-Laurel visits Sara's grave. Ends up telling Thea asks her not to say anything. Now Thea knows.

-Dinah breezes through town. Tells her mother. (Mom figures it out same thing, she gave it away anyway) Hey mom, don't tell Dad. Keeps that from him too. They both do now.

-Quentin to Laurel. I'm really worried about Sara. I'm really worried about Sara. I'm really worried about Sara.

-Laurel dresses up in her sister's clothing. Trying to fight crime. Now the word is out, that "Sara's" in town. Quentin, Have you seen Sara? She's in town? She's hasn't come to you??? No. No. No. No. No.

-Now she's on the news for the entire city to see...Quentin to Laurel: Why wouldn't she come to me? Or You?? What's going on?? (And btw when the city sees "The Canary" is in town, that makes them feel safe, b/c they know of her. A untrained copycat and a vigilante are not the same thing) Now Felicity's dragged into it. Which if there was a better time to tell Lance, it could've been in that moment. After he saw "Sara" on tv. But no.

-Laurel CALLS her father, disguising her voice to sound like Sara. Ohhh boy does that make it better.

-Laurel, dresses up like Sara, visits her father, and completely ignores him as "Sara"....Yeahhh that's awesome.

-The man is a Captain! He WORKS IN THE FIELD! He deals with stress every. Single. Day. He's still kicking. His reaction will be WORSE than if she had just came out and told him a few weeks after Sara's death.

I'd take your little scenario over ALL of this. Now there's absolutely no right time to tell him this. She waited far too long.

    ReplyDelete
  54. Hahahaha, it probably would. But maybe a little later, when i'm a little more calm. Thanks. That was funny.

    ReplyDelete
  55. You're exactly right. She got sooo used to keeping it from him, her lies escalated, and they just keep building. Now w/e right time she could've told him...there is no right time anymore.

    ReplyDelete
  56. "Aww a bad dream kiss" - Wiliam Shatner live tweeting Arrow (actually true)

loved this one: "I have had training from Oliver... Well that isn't a big brag because they think he's dead, right?"

    SHATNER IS GOD

    ReplyDelete
  57. "This is getting too far." No. It's GONE too far.

    ReplyDelete
  58. It's the first time i see a dream so out of place, of everything he could've dream?. What does that mean then?. He really loves Felicity?. Im not gonna get much into that.
Great episode. Iliked Laurel on the suit and felt really bad for Detective Lance, he will be crush when he learns the truth.
I found funny hoy Roy gave Laurel the talk when he only had stright fight to fend himself before the mirakuru and Laurel had a traine r(but hey that's better than nothing, right?).
I want to see hw that suit it's gonna work. It sounds pretty cool tbh and im sure they will make it work.
I still dont get why Maso joined the league. Did the triada killed his son?

    ReplyDelete
  59. Since Quentin is only a captain? I don't think he has the final say in pulling the police out. Wouldn't the chief be that job? I guess he just have to handle the politics now!

    ReplyDelete
  60. I liked this episode very much. But I disliked several parts too.

    Positives

-Laurel story arc. Very well done. All her action scenes were great. This is in my positives and negatives.
-Felicity/Laurel scene. It actually moved forward both ladies. Both of them realising this mission is not about dead people. So cool
-Maseo and Tatsu in current timeline. At last I am really invested in these two characters. I want to know what happened to them and Akio.
-Oliver dreaming. It was a nice start to the episode.
-Thea standing up for herself and bending Malcolm's hand. Dude what are you planning?
-Ray Palmer. He is developing nicely

    Negatives

    - The first rescue of aldermen. Really? So Laurel decides to go into the mission and Diggle just stays back to watch computer screens? He could have done more good on the streets watching Laurel's back than being in the cave. I get that they wanted Laurel to loose but this is absolute nonsense to bench a decorated veteran.
-Also the next rescue mission. Why was not Diggle on the mission with Roy and Laurel? He could have parked the helicopter and be in on the action.
-Laurel impersonating Sara in front of Quentin. The phone call in itself was unnecessary. They could have made Felicity call Quentin. But to go in person in front of him. I hated it.
-Mayor caving in to Brick's demand. Ever heard of the army?

-Laurel is a bit cheesy on the dialogues when on mission. Really warmer.. warmer.. when she has no escape plan. Why not keep quiet until Digg comes with the chopper?

Hong Kong scenes were okay. I liked Laurel. But to get there they completely undermined Diggle and his abilities. Also the authorities in Starling City are morons. A very average episode for me.

    ReplyDelete
  61. So this episode... Laurel as Black Canary is good, great even, I like how they're making her stumble. But Laurel as a person? She's just such a terrible person. Usually I'm indifferent towards her, but god I hated her this episode for what she did. Fooling her father like that? That just makes her lower than scum in my books. And the fact that Team Arrow were enabling her like that? It just made me dislike Team Arrow (except Oliver) in this episode. It's just something I couldn't get over regardless of whether or not I enjoyed the other parts of the episode.

I know people are loving Laurel this season and think that she's growing as a character, but man, she's just regressing for me. IDK. This wasn't a good episode for me.

    ReplyDelete
  62. Lauricity sounds like a quirky female beauty product, so it could work

    ReplyDelete
  63. Wasn't good for me either. I didn't like it.

    ReplyDelete
  64. I hated every moment of it when they all deceived Quentin together. This show has taken secrets to another level. Thea being completely in the dark about Malcolm and Oliver's death. Laurel not knowing about Sara's killer. I am annoyed at Team Arrow on the whole for all three secrets. They are all douche bags.

    ReplyDelete
  65. Really Shannon, in a show constantly filled with moral grayness and ethic dilemmas, that you just can't even see that Laurel DOES have a reason to lie to Quentin is just laughable.

"It is wroooooong, he should know" It could kill him. The outcome will be awful no matter what, but at least he gets to live. Do you really prefer for Quentin to possibly die because telling him the truth is the right thing?

This is seriously the dumbest gripe with the show and I can't even.

    ReplyDelete
  66. "Laurel's progression as BC is going to be slow and organic." Sees LL jump out of a window and grab onto a rope hanging from a helicopter after one episode of being BC. Slow, right! hahahahaha So happy Oliver is back next episode. Hallelujah!

    ReplyDelete
  67. Honestly? I think she is waiting for confirmation that Quentin's heart has recuperated, so the stress won't kill him.

Stress is a major no-no for heart conditions, and Quentin has mostly been staying mostly in his desk job. Also, a bout of physical activity is not as dangerous as something as dangerously chronic as grief caused stress. His heart LITERALLY could not take it.

Laurel is really doing it to protect his health, this is why everyone agrees, because is a real danger, until they know how Quentin's heart has recuperated.

    ReplyDelete
  68. Quentin is not going to die tomorrow. He has life left in him. So how long is Laurel going to keep this a secret? How long can she? He is chasing criminals and fighting bad guys regularly with this bad heart condition. So what is going to happen when he comes to know about it because he will. Then he will have a dead daughter and his other daughter and ex wife kept this information away from him. Now the whole Team Arrow is actively deceiving Quentin. Its disgusting. Just like it is disgusting for Team Arrow to not let Thea know of Oliver's demise and Laurel of the identity of Sara's killer. At least the last one can be attributed to protecting Thea.

    ReplyDelete
  69. With Thea I can sort of barely forgive because we as the audience knows that Oliver IS coming back. But Sara isn't. And nothing good can come of lying about her death and impersonating Sara. I was ashamed of Team Arrow. And furious at Laurel. Just terrible because it's not like Felicity to LIE about something like this. Or go along with it. Felicity values the truth. Her enabling Laurel was just baffling to me.

    ReplyDelete
  70. Look, Laurel said at the begging she is only doing until Quentin is healthier, so the grief caused stress doesn't deteriorate his recuperation and kills him.

So I do expect one episode of "Quentin gets his physical exam and he is okay" and then Laurel really has no reason to lie to him.

It is a horribly sucky situation, but, on an objective level, you must see the reasoning for it.

    ReplyDelete
  71. IT COULD FREAKING KILL HIM. tell him, lie to him, both outcomes are awful, but in one of them he has a greater chance to live.

It really baffles me how people can see the grayness in this moral dilemma, as if the lie is the worst thing possible regardless of the reason. And this is a show WITH A LOT OF MORAL GRAYNESS

    ReplyDelete
  72. Yup Really. It's his daughterrrrr. Do you really think Laurel masquerading around as Sara, and Sara calling Quentin "from beyond the grave" won't kill him?? Once he finds out what Laurel has been doing this whole time?? She's making it worse. At this point. Now she's just used to it. I'm not even gonna bother going back and forth with you. I already let everything out. Yeahhh let's see how it goes down when she finally tells him. It'll probably speed up his death. And who the hell could blame him. Even his ex-wife held it in for Laurel. The motherrrr of his childddd. Yeah that's awesome. And I never said I didn't see her reasoning, I actually said, iI agreed with her reasoning, In The Beginningggg. What iI said tonight, is that her excuse is old, it doesn't fly, and i'm over it. Doesn't cut it anymore. It's been oveR. 3 months. It's absolutely terrible.

  73. If he's doing his job everyday, which he has been doing, and taking his meds everyday. He's kicking ass everyday. That's pretty damn healthy. He's recuperated already. Now she's just waiting just to wait. And iI wish you would see how bad the "lie" has gotten and understand why I'm so pissed. And whyyy i won't let it go. But you won't. And that's okay. I'm not going to change my mind or my feelings towards it. And you won't change yours.

But seriously M...pretending to be Sara to keep it up. And also putting her self in danger in the process. C'mon, c'monnn. I'm not with it. And I won't be.

    ReplyDelete
  74. If that is the case why go to him in person? Why call him? Why not let Felicity call Quentin to ask about the kidnapped aldermen. She could have just stayed away. This is ultimate betrayal and really unnecessary for Laurel's arc except to make her look like an idiot. Last episode Quentin was in a chase following Brick's men. This episode he was in a shoot out. He is a functioning adult not a bedridden patient who is going to die tomorrow. Also his heart condition is never going away. It will be there until he dies.

    ReplyDelete
  75. I'm not denying that the lie is awful, and that in execution is almost cruel. But that is a point besides. What I am saying, is there is a valid reason for why they are doing it, and that's why it is such a morally gray situation.

Stress is a major contraindication for heart conditions, and grief would cause a major case of it. The last time Sara died Quentin became an alcoholic and wrecked his relationships, this time it might be worse. What if he relapses? his heart wouldn't take a relapse into his alcoholism. Quentin has been a cop for decades, so as far as we know, with his desk job, commissioner is a stress level he can handle. But add Sara's death to it, and his health IS at a major risk.

I'm not saying to be okay with the lie, because IT IS an awful lie, but there are reasons, this is why is a moral dilemma, this is why Laurel feels forced to do this horrible thing to her father, to keep him alive, even if he hates her.

    ReplyDelete
  76. I don't even call Laurel's arc, Laurel's arc. I call it the Black Canary arc. IDK It might not sound different, but it does in my head :p The BC arc, I feel they're doing well. Laurel's arc? She's just regressing imo.

    ReplyDelete
  77. Worst part about this is it also makes Quentin look like an idiot and Felicity and the rest of Team Arrow look terrible. Honestly, I just can't get over how terrible this is.

    ReplyDelete
  78. It because Quentin keep talking to speak to Sara, because IT WAS weird she hadn't call. This is just to prolong the lie, and I completely agree the reveal will be cruel. He needed to see Sara, and the only way to do so was a horrible lie.

But his heart IS still healing. Moderate jogging once in a while is nowhere as taxing as the chronic stress and grief that Sara's fate will cause him, that's not counting a relapse. It will come the day he is "out of the woods" and his heart will recuperate as well as it can, and Laurel will have to tell him the truth. And he will hate her for that betrayal, and it will wreck Laurel.

But at least Quentin will be alive.

    ReplyDelete
  79. He is a police captain. Moderate jogging? He was on a high speed chase where thugs were shooting at them last episode and he fought armed gunmen today and came out like a boss. He dealt with politics all the day and he went to a dangerous meeting with Brick today. You are comparing all these to moderate jogging? He is already out of the woods. The heart condition he has left with is never going away. There is no reasoning that can exonerate Laurel and team Arrow for what they are doing to Quentin.

    ReplyDelete
  80. But still Team Arrow does not know Oliver is returning. How long can they keep it from Thea if Oliver is really dead? Are they going to leave her to the mercies of Malcolm? I had high hopes that they would try to protect Thea from Malcolm in Oliver's absense.

    ReplyDelete
  81. "Almost Cruel" No. It's downright cruel and deceitful. Her "valid reason" Has become invalid. It's expireddddd. There is no gray in this. Not anymore. This is black. (And in absolutely no way is that a pun). Believe me,I know all about stress. What the worst part is is having a daughter who died, come back to life, have all these great moments with her, then when she actually does die. Have his other daughter withhold info b/c one wants to prolong her father's death, (originally that was the plan), then it was iI want to wait to find out the killer, then it was iI want to avenge my sister. (You can't avenge your sister with no skills, you get dead too) And let's say she did die tonight (she surely would've w/o Roy backing her up) so that's two dead daughters, and one he'd have to clue about until he'd see Laurel in Sara's outfit and figure it out. But that's beside the point.

The point is, she's changing her mind constantly, on said "reasoning", and now she's going around trying to be a vigilante. And she visited him!!! But BEFORE THAT she calleddddd him!!! She could've left that right there!! She did NOT have to go see him. That....she crossed the line. The line is so far away, she can't see it. That's the sad part.

Oh and let's not forget she also told Nyssa not to say anything. Quentin actually had a relationship with her too. Smh...Laurel's a big mess. No good.

    ReplyDelete
  82. I would have liked if Roy sat this one out for once monitoring and Diggle left with Laurel. Or why monitor why not three of them go together. All you need is a few more thugs for everyone to beat up. Once they are at the location the monitoring can't do anything much.

    ReplyDelete
  83. Don't forget that Felicity quit, therefore Dig had to stay behind and man the computers as he's the other one who is most qualified and that Felicity would not mind touching her computers in her absence. Once she came back he was back out there being backup for Roy and Laurel. Plus how else is Laurel suppose to learn? Sometimes one must step back so another can learn to step up. It's what these 3 episodes are all about, Team Arrow stepping up and learning about what they are truly fighting for while Oliver is MIA.

    ReplyDelete
  84. IDK that's just like saying you can only master the trapeze that's 500 feet off the ground if you practice on it without a safety net. This isn't a game. Laurel could die. And Digg, who is her and Roy's safety net wasn't there. It's just ridiculous.

I understand Laurel wanting to fight. But to go off with Roy? Who isn't a great fighter himself? I call BS. I'd at least understand if Digg went with them just in case Laurel/Roy got themselves in trouble. But he wasn't there. This was such a strange episode.

    ReplyDelete
  85. Not surprising since it's the "everyone props Laurel" episodes.

I hate what it's done to Felicity, who used to value telling the truth enough to lose Oliver's friendship over it.

    ReplyDelete
  86. Uh Laurel got her ass handed to her throughout the episode. Because Laurel doesn't have a kid, and much, much more importantly Black Canary like the Arrow serves as a symbol against criminals. Fear that he could go off the deep end and die of a heart attack (don't like it either though). She's helping him build a exosuit and help others and do good to protect him, and hose she cares about she didn't just stop loving Oliver or suddenly love Ray. Simple, so people don't die. So Laurel can be better and help this city by taking the symbol of her sister and inspire fear and deter criminals.

    ReplyDelete
  87. So I take you missed all her missed attacks, stabbing, almost falling off the van, almost getting choked out by Brick? That was awful cherry picking,

    ReplyDelete
  88. What did Diggle do at the monitors except calling out Brick was behind Laurel? That could have been done had he been on the scene fighting with them. Diggle is the most experienced person among them and even he along with Roy got badly beaten last episode against Brick. To think Diggle would let Laurel go without his back up is ridiculous. Also the second rescue mission he was on the helicopter all the time. They could have rewritten that any way to include Diggle on the fight. There is no logic in this. So for Laurel to become BC Diggle has to step back?

    ReplyDelete
  89. I have to point out he was damn near collapsing in The Calm. And Laurel was pissed that he went out there because of his heart condition and his doctor telling him not to do that.

    ReplyDelete
  90. Let me call them Douche bags for today. I am angry.

    ReplyDelete
  91. I liked the part where Felicity talks to Laurel and then Laurel decides the fight is not about Sara. It was well done. I loved her fighting scenes. What I could not appreciate was the lies and benching Diggle.

    ReplyDelete
  92. How can they when she wants him around? I'm sure they are watching from the distance but not interfering. I did like how Roy stood up to Malcolm, show just how far he's come and how much he still cares.

    ReplyDelete
  93. Really wouldn't call them douche bags.

    ReplyDelete
  94. You know I find if funny that this episode makes so many people pissed at Team Arrow for helping Laurel lie to her dad. Some even go as far as to say they are now 'activity' lying. However they have been lying and keeping the truth from him the whole season. Nothing really has changed. They could have told him anytime they wanted to but they felt that it was Laurel's secret to tell, which it is. So until she's ready they will help her keep it and if that means doing what they did then so be it. Yes it sucks and is wrong but it's nothing new.

    ReplyDelete
  95. In what world would Team Arrow ever agree on benching their most seasoned fighter (Digg) and letting the rookie (who literally just started fighting 3-4 months ago) go out to fight Brick? Honestly, I just felt like this whole episode was nonsensical. And while I was watching the episode, I kid you not, my husband asked me whether all this nonsense was happening just to prop Laurel up? I honestly didn't know how to answer him because I felt the same too.

I liked the Laurel/Felicity scene as well tbqh. But their actions just marred the whole scene. IDK. I wish I enjoyed the episode like everyone else. But it just didn't make sense to me at all.

    ReplyDelete
  96. Nah. I love those guys. Merlyn though go right ahead.

    ReplyDelete
  97. She wants him around because she does not know the truth. If she knew her father made her kill Sara and Oliver was dead because of it would she want to be around him? We know Oliver is coming back but for Team Arrow Oliver is never returning. His secret about being the Arrow does not matter. I had thought they would tell Thea the truth about Malcolm at least in Oliver's absence. I guess they can only concentrate on one female character at a time. Thank god they are doing the BC arc good otherwise I would have given up.

    ReplyDelete
  98. I know. I still think it's ridiculous. But they haven't crossed the line like Laurel did this episode. For me Laurel was forgivable until she decided to impersonate Sara. I guess the same goes for Team Arrow. Although I would've LOVED to have seen a scene with Thea and Felicity where she'd warn Thea to stay away from Malcolm or whatever. I want to see those two have screen time. They'd make an interesting dynamic. Clearly we're not going to see that happening soon.

Honestly though. Arrow rarely makes any sense nowadays. Like the decisions some of the characters make, the things they say/do just baffle me a lot nowadays. The quality of the show has gone down a lot. And this episode, I suppose, is the first one that made me really realize it. IDK I may not return to it after this season. As much as I love Diggle/Felicity/Oliver, it's clear that the writers don't value the core of the show as much to actually give them screen time together. So yeah... It sucks. But I suppose that's how I feel.

    ReplyDelete
  99. I was disappointed in this episode. It seem conposed of OOC and the things that I don't like or care about.

They're building Laurel as Black Canary too fast. She's a better fighter than Diggle against Brick and why is Diggle with the comms and Laurel in the field when he's a much better fighter than she is? Why is Felicity getting close to Ray when she was just crying for the love of her life last week? Why is all of Team Arrow helping Laurel lie to Quentin? How can the mayor just hand over a major part of the city to a criminal? And why is Felicity encouraging Laurel to put the Canary suit back on.

I like Vinnie Jones as Brick, he's a good thug. I also liked Oliver's scenes with Maseo and Tatsu. But everything I didn't like and with Andrew Kreisburg teasing more Raylicity to come, I'm now seriously thinking about taking a break until (if ever) it gets back to the show I loved.

    ReplyDelete
  100. Holy shit Shatner watches Arrow. Words can't even describe…

    ReplyDelete
  101. And yet he's continuing, and he's still okay. He's still doing his job as Captain. I don't see her telling him "Hey Dad take a leave."

Btw I just calmed down. And it's 1:30am....can we put a pin in it?

    ReplyDelete
  102. Not the best episode....

I like that Laurel is struggling to live up to her sister as Canary, but what is with the cheesy banter? She is not Arrow or Black Canary, she needs to concentrate on teh actual fights and save the witty one-liners to experienced and trained heroes. Or at least get better writers! XD

Also, why not use the ultrasonic device more often? She struggles taking on full strength baddies so why not use the Canary Cry to her advantage? Too easy? XD

Just when Felicity thought she was out... they pull her back in! XD
Ok she walked back in, but I'm glad she did.

I'm not shocked DJ Doofus is with LOA I guess. He was obviously up to something from the beginning. It will be fun seeing him die at the hands of Arrow or Merlyn,.. whoever does the act.

I get why Dig sat on the roof an did not go in the warehouse, but why did he stay in AHQ the first time? Laurel went from not being part of the team to being the defacto leader giving orders everyone else follows? What huh? I guess some people are just sidekicks and others heroes, but c'mon!

Speaking of sidekciks...or side flips as it were...
Roy is stepping up big time! Not only in doing his share of the heroics, but also looking out for Thea. His lecture to Laurel was spot on as well!

The flashbacks are doing little for me lately.
Yes they mirror teh episode's story, but what exactly have they added lately? It seems like they have become a bit redundant. Maybe if they get more into Waller... Dunno.

I'm over being annoyed by Laurel not telling Quentin about Sara, but it needs to be done! It is just week after week of feeling terrible for Q as he is left in the dark!

    Last thing..
Why does everyone want to take over The Glades?
It is a once run down and now bombed out slum that is filled with criminals and little of value. I would think a bulletproof man and his army could think of a higher value target to take over! XD

    ReplyDelete
  103. Too many posts for me to read before adding my two cents, so I may repeat others' comments.

Anyway, I only gave this a Good rating, because while nothing was bad--there also wasn't a lot to like. The Oliver flashback and recovery were OK, but are starting to "drag" the narrative, because I'm feeling it's too much like the Island, and the whole Slade thing.

The Laurel arc that's intended to resurrect her with the fans, is off to a good start. Although she's likely to fail in her fighting against Bad Guys, it's not annoying yet. But, it they try to make her Team Leader in Oliver's absence, that's going to just not going to work. Diggle is the Leader, as far as I'm concerned--calling the shots from the Arrow Cave, with support from Felicity. Roy, Laurel (and maybe Ray) will be in the field.

The Thea/Malcolm storyline has got to go somewhere soon! I understand that the show is setting up a second Ra's Al Ghul fight--this time with Malcolm. So, tonight may just be the set-up for that battle.

Lastly, the criminal of the week, and Captain Lance storylines were barely adequate; and clearly are suffering from the writers trying to do too much.

Like I said, I give it a Good, but not more.

    ReplyDelete
  104. All she did was get on a ladder. That's really not hard.

    ReplyDelete
  105. See my thing is I'm both bothered by it, but I get why and honestly I just can't be very mad because losing people is hard and yeah I know it's not right and it will most likely make it worse when he finds out, but still breaking this news and potentially losing your father over his bad heart or just psychologically and I can't fault Laurel for just trying to protect her father. But he needs to know.

    ReplyDelete
  106. The Laurel stuff was good up until they tacked on the helicopter scene. I was into it until that point. Wish they had left it out.

    ReplyDelete
  107. I love them too. That's why this is so hard to digest.

    ReplyDelete
  108. Yeah sure. I do hope he learns soon. F*ck gotta go to bed. Got a history seminar. One thing though (PS sorry for the length all I could find: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cCKONHUigVk

    ReplyDelete
  109. I like Black Smoak ;)

    ReplyDelete
  110. Thanks G. Have a gnite. GL on the seminar. (Don't forget to watch the extended promo first).

    ReplyDelete
  111. Yeah, it was actually his best scene since he came on the show.

    ReplyDelete
  112. She did not "just get onto a ladder" honestly...

She jumped through a glass window hands first and managed not to inure or slice up her hands. Also managed to not have her arms automatically recoil when breaking through. Then she managed to grab and keep hold of an unstable rope ladder while flying off.

Some people struggle to climb or even hold onto those types of ladders when only feet above the ground. Laurel had just exerted herself in a fight, broken through a window and let's not leave out the noise and turbulence caused by the helicopter adding to the task.

    ReplyDelete
  113. I really liked this episode because it shows just how lost they where without their leader. Last week it was all about the grief, and coming to terms with the fact that Oliver is gone. This week it was all about figuring out what to do now that he is gone and how to continue doing it. They never really thought about what they are fighting for individually before, they did it for Oliver, it was his crusade. Now it's THEIR crusade, they are doing it for each other, for those living and those lost. And in the end they will be a stronger team because of it.
Yes they were a bit OOC again this week, then again who isn't a bit OOC when they've lost someone close, lover or family member or really good friend. It takes a toll and take a while to make a new normal. I know I'm still getting over the reagent loss of my own mother, and maybe that's why I get what's going on and understand why they are all running around with their head's screwed on backwards.

    ReplyDelete
  114. Sigh. Not a huge fan of this episode for reasons mentioned by a lot of others. And honestly, every time Quentin made some reference to Sara, my heart broke, especially at the end. On a good note,Roy's acting improved, Ray is becoming more likable and Oliver is still not dead.

    ReplyDelete
  115. See I was partially behind Laurel before this episode because she was in grief and like Felicity last episode in panic of loosing another person she loves. Fine I give her that. But calling your dad in Sara's voice and impersonating her and visiting him. That is taking it too far and extremely cruel to a parent. Also the excuse of Quentin being sick does not fly anymore. For the last two episodes he has been in lot of dangerous and stressful situations. To hear Felicity say I know where to find the canary was really hard. I disliked her a lot for that. She could have said I would let you know when I hear something. I would have liked it if at least one member of Team Arrow remarked on this deceit and they discussed upon it.

    ReplyDelete
  116. The longer Laurel keeps it from Quentin, the more it's going to hurt him, not just Sara's death but how long Laurel has been lying to him.

Does she think he'll never find out?

The best time would have been to tell her father when he was visiting her in the hospital. Medical care right there if anything happened.

    ReplyDelete
  117. There was one thing I found that didn't fit right and that was the dream. I knew from spoilers that he would be dreaming about her, I just didn't think it would be that of which he would be dreaming about. I figured he'd dream about a little white house with a white picket fence, her and him married with a baby on the way and a dog. Not his going away with a slight variation, it seemed a little out of place, but oh well such a miner thing to complain about.

    ReplyDelete
  118. I'm glad you and others enjoyed it but it didn't work for me.

    ReplyDelete
  119. I kind of agree with the others. I don't think that this is the time and place to let your best fighters step back in order to allow someone with a few months training to get experience. Not when so many lives are at stake. The bottom line is that the producers are interested in promoting Laurel's character, not Diggle's, otherwise, it doesn't make any sense. It's kind of sad that Diggle has to take a back seat even when Oliver is away, but I predicted this would happen.

    ReplyDelete
  120. Felicity could have just as easily called him said "the team" was on it and could they get details. There was no NO NO reason for the voice changer lie to Lance. That was cruel beyond belief and completely OOC for Team Arrow.

    ReplyDelete
  121. Dare I say it was 500-1000 times worse than I thought it was going to be?? Even being prepared for annoyance, didn't get me ready to handle Felicity helping with a voice changers for NO REASON.

    ReplyDelete
  122. Heavy/disappointing sighhhhhhhh. I'm I'm....I'm done. Wooosahhhhh.

    ReplyDelete
  123. Even in next episode's promo it is all about Canary and Arsenal leading the fight. I wouldn't have minded this if this was in season 4 when Laurel was established member of the Team and had some experience under the belt. But right now to give her more importance than Oliver because she wears her sister's outfit is just insulting the audience.

    ReplyDelete
  124. Yes, because if you can't land on a van how the heck do you bust out a window and catch a swinging helicopter ladder--with upper body strength and perfect timing! That's not cherry picking it is hideous inconsistency. She shouldn't fight better against Brick than Diggle, that is absurd. But she put on her plot armor and attacked. Not snuck out the window, she purposefully led him to her escape route and then attacked. Stupid, TSTL.

    ReplyDelete
  125. Awesome episode. But i hate that Laurel is so untrained.

    ReplyDelete
  126. Didn't Ray, even at the slightest, ever suspect something's off when your super smart VP of your own company is aksingt you if she could borrow your helicopter?

    ReplyDelete
  127. Hahaha I loved that he just knew ONE thing in the dream, and that was that he loved Felicity. Aka Dream Oliver doesn't give a SHIT about Thea

No I'm kidding, I like Thea. And Olicity. But seriously that dream just seemed super random and pointless. I actually thought it was Felicity dreaming about it at first which would have made a bit more sense

    ReplyDelete
  128. I loved the Laurel/Felicity (Lauricity?) scene. Looks like a great upcoming friendship. The same applies to Laurel/Roy (Canary/Arsenal).

    ReplyDelete
  129. Lance is going to be so messed up when he finds out that not only is his daughter dead (again! for real this time!) but Laurel has been using creepy voice modifiers to sound like her rather than just tell him she's dead.

    ReplyDelete
  130. So I loved the borrowing the helicopter discussion. That was a shining light of awesomeness in a really painful episode. Oh, Maseo and Tatsu now and in the past were awesome. I am also happy that I was wrong about Maseo telling Oliver he needed to go home, and instead was just deflecting Oliver's worry from him. Thank goodness. Unfortunately all my other fears not only came true but were worse than I could have imagined. At least I was right that my one hope making it through these episodes was going to be Ray stepping up, but he just doesn't have enough time.

Speaking of time, like I said, giving Laurel screentime won't fix it if you don't change the quality of the screentime. Making Felicity come back for flimsy reasons to prop her up, like ignoring the idea that it is a suicide mission. Having her say and do cocky silly things. Having Brick strangle her and let her go because "he doesn't like to hit women." Are you kidding me! Are you freaking kidding me!?!? She stumbles a couple of times and then is taking out Brick's men, going after Brick head-to-head and then jumping through a window. Ray at like 6'2" and 220 can't take out one guy, but 110 lbs Laurel beats up a dude with the worst constructed pair of heels in history? But most importantly...Diggle gets benched! Benched in two important fights because Laurel wants to play vigilante? And that is Laurel's call? Apparently buckles make you a better fighter than years of special forces training. Good to know.

The SCPD look like incompetent idiots and the politics and law of this episode was painful. Laurel can't just run around charging people with any crime she feels like and this isn't the first time they've had her threaten from her ADA position.

Brick fires at an out in the open Roy with a what an Uzi and then again at Laurel from like 20 ft away with a handgun and doesn't hit either of them. The plot armor was strong in this one and considering the realness of the vigilante life leads to death theme last week it was particularly offensive. Because the "fix" for this is a suicide mission is to say the fight isn't about vengeance it's about trying to keep people safe. What? Oliver's mission was always to save/protect the city. This isn't different. I need a rationale that changes it from a mission not worth dying for to a mission worth dying for.

I'm not even mentioning lying to Lance. I am too angry about that plot to even form sentences. Also with the stupidity of Thea's you're lying to me so I'm going to put myself in danger threat because my daddy taught me to not be afraid of BAMF villains. Yes, Thea's brain is that broken.

    ReplyDelete
  131. 'Gossip Slade' - BAHAHAHAHHA. Made me laugh uncontrollably.

    ReplyDelete
  132. When Malcolm said: "This is family business, and you are not family" Did anyone else think, shit Roy actually looks like he IS family. He looks more like Malcolm than either Thea or Tommy. I never thought that before but now I'm like man, he could totally have been Malcolm's son and then it WOULD be family business. Maybe it was just me but I totally saw the resemblance. But thank God he's not or would be puking retrospectively from the Thea/Roy scenes

    ReplyDelete
  133. About Laurel not telling her dad about Sara's death...
I can understand why she did not tell him at or immediately after the hospital. I disagree with her logic and would have told him if it were my choice, but I can understand her reasoning at least.

That said, it is months later and she still has not told him!
Moreover, it is one thing to conveniently omit or not be forthcoming with information, but to go out of her way to deliberately lie to Quentin with an elaborate scheme is something else entirely.

She has now made the situation exponentially worse!
Now she not only has to keep up the charade of Sara being alive, but she also will have to deal with the fact she has been outright lying to Quentin. Going so far as to with the help of others use technology to impersonate her on the phone and physically.. When he finds out now it is not the case of an semi-understandable precaution from an overly protective daughter, it is a deliberate betrayal of trust.

If her dad's health was a major concern she should be trying to find the time and place to tell him ASAP! Captain of the police is not necessarily a long-lived job in Star City with all the crime lords doing their worst. Imagine if Quentin was killed never knowing Sara was dead. Laurel would have the guilt of knowing that the last act between her and her father was an ongoing campaign to mislead, lie and cover up Sara's death from her father. OUCH!

    ReplyDelete
  134. Exactly. I just wanted to get inside the tv and slap Felicity when she said I know how to reach the canary. She lost points in my eyes today.

    ReplyDelete
  135. It's going to be terrible, I don't even wanna think about it. He'll be so hurt!

    ReplyDelete
  136. I hated about 75% of that episode.
I think I was the only one on that site that actually agreed with Laurel about not telling Quentin. But calling him and meeting him as Sara and Felicity telling him "I know where to find the Canary"! That just crossed the line! I SO want him to find out and really give it to them.

    Things I liked:
THE DREAM! My Olicity feels were all over the place. He dreamed that he listened to her and stayed and told her that THE ONLY thing that he knows is that he loves her (understandable since he failed miserably in the other thing which is saving Thea) but then he saw himself getting stabbed :( he let her down and failed and didn't come back to her :( and he must be worried about what's happening to her in his absence and what she must bee feeling knowing that he died.
    Oliver's scenes, present and flashbacks.
    Roy/Diggle scenes.
Roy/Malcolm scene. Actually pretty much all Roy's scenes.
    Maseo and Tatsu.
The helicopter discussion (the only scene with Ray that didn't make me roll my eyes)
Felicity (I'm so mad at you by the way for so many things) coming back to the team.
    Brick was very good.

  137. Have to say. There was a big part of me hoping that Ollie was going to get a wee bit of League training. Guess not...

  138. Slade can jump into the ocean and drown with his little unrequited love. Shado was just not that into you, dude!

    ReplyDelete
  139. That exchange with Felicity asking to borrow the helicopter from him was hilarious. The Felicity/Roy relationship cracks me up, because despite being her boss, he seems to have absolutely no authority over her!

  140. Enjoyed the episode. Loved Maseo!!! Awesome!
I know there are probably already enough comments about Olicity but I can't help it:
The dream, awww. Then again this even felt like fanservice for me and it makes me dread what is coming. Laurel atm is the only one still believing he could be alive. And Felicity is actually moving on and why give us a scene we're she and Oliver get together. A farwell gift?!?!

  141. maybe i dont know politics...
but since when does the mayor has the power to give the district to criminals??
if they r dealing with terrorists like mayor said.where the hell is F(FREAKIN)BI???
    and ARGUS ???
and the MOST insane thing they did today was laurel mimicing sarah to her father.that is just TOOO FAR.
now laurel may have lost the chance to tell about sarah like EVER.
i can see this ending in only two ways
    1.lance DEAD.
    2.laurel DEAD.

  144. The part about helicopters not having keys was what cracked me up the most during that conversation. It actually got me thinking for a sec if they really do need keys to start themselves up. lol

  146. William Shatner fancies watching just about every sci-fi/fantasy shows out there and live-tweet it as it happens. He's so funny. :))

    ReplyDelete
  147. So he can shoot-outs but he cant handle the truth. It was disgusting.

    ReplyDelete
  148. You don't think leading the guy trying to kill you directly into the middle of your escape route is a good plan? That astounds me. I always lure villains I'm trying to get away from directly to where I'm hiding so they can compromise my exit strategy.

  149. Ok episode, better then the last one but I need Oliver to be back soon. I realized I wouldn't watch the show without Oliver Queen back in Starling City, so bring him back please!

    ReplyDelete
  150. I don't agree with all your comments, but I understand where you're coming from. IMO, what's going on with S3 of Arrow is the writers are taking the show in new directions (new characters, evolution of Team Arrow, different personal relationships) and the fan base is still committed to the Arrow of S2, maybe S1. My feeling is that S2 was very, very, very good--and the writers now can't top (or equal) themselves. In other words: has Arrow "peaked"?

  151. I hope you never ever be in a situation like what Laurel is.
it's a very tough situation. Laurel already lost one of her family, she afraid of losing another one too. besides his mother left them after what happened to Q Gambit and his father stayed there for her, actually they stayed for each other.
so please stop saying about why Laurel didn't say the truth about Sara. sooner/later she will tell that to Lance.

    ReplyDelete
  152. decent episode, I just wish they would stop trying to shove us Laurel down the throat. Yes, she's black canary in the comics, but as far as the show goes, Sara was way better, Laurel is just annoying and Cassidy's acting is horrible. I also hate that they keep her father still in the dark about Sara's death - he will find out eventually anyway, what's the point? To make Laurel even more unlikeable?

    ReplyDelete
  153. It was pretty obvious that he was up to something, but I didn't expect him to work for the league of assassins, much less Maseo.

    ReplyDelete
  154. Wow! 13 hours after broadcast, and 150 comments and there are raging arguments about whether this latest episode worked or not.

What strikes me is that most people have pluses & minuses: so I guess it's good for the show, that fans like parts of episodes. Of course, that fans continue to find a bunch of things NOT to like isn't good. And, the jury is still out on Laurel. She's been such a lightening rod for so long, I just don't know if there's anything the writers will ever be able to do to get a large portion of the fan base behind her. But, if there one thing I'm sure of, it's that the Arrow Producers/Writers are 100% behind John Barrowman and Katie Cassidy being major focuses of the show. Time will tell if this is a good thing.

  155. I still hope Chase is actually Joe Wilson, but him being a part of the League definitely surprised me. Unless the League uses types of "informants" all over the world and Chase isn't really, technically a League member.

  156. Mac why there no detailed review from you on the episode? I was looking forward to it. So what did you think of Diggle manning the coms when Laurel and Roy went to rescue aldermen? Kiss was just a dream mac and it was over in the first 10 secs of the show. Not a big deal.

    ReplyDelete
  157. xoxo Gossip Slade :) lol

  158. He surprised me this episode. I think as long as they don't give him emotional stuff he will be fine. He is good at humor and being strong.

Did you feel Roy was scared for a bit when Malcolm took a step towards him in that scene?

    ReplyDelete
  159. The Captain is not ok by a longshot. The only reason he is able to live and tolerate his life is knowing that Laurel and Sarah are ok and alive. If he found out it would destroy him. It took him years the first time, and now he has a heart condition atop of it. If you were in Laurel's situation, I know you would do the same. I think being angry at her is possibly because you do know Oliver will eventually end up with Laurel. That is how its supposed to go. In every incarnation it's always the Green Arrow and Black Canary together, like Clark and Lois. I think Felicity is better fit with Palmer anyways, they actually have chemistry instead of it being forced to get Olicity shippers to watch their show. The Atom is one of most iconic and powerful members of the DC Universe.

  160. WTF show, not only is Oliver alive without Lazarus Pit (and apparently didn't die at all!!!!!) but his wounds moved lol (seriously he was stabbed through the chest!!) and almost healed!!!!

    WTF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Also Laurel is comedy gold, but I still hate her, and wished she would die.

Also the Sara voicechangetrick was super low and cruel :/

  161. he also did one for TO and called them drama queens forcing Leah Pipes, DG and Phoebe to respond with this

  162. I was about to write one but then I saw the post about that kiss and felt demotivated because it apparently was big enough for others to gush about and for me to miss it :P

I'll do one next week ^^

I thought Diggle had that total Daddy vibe when watching over Roy and Laurel

    ReplyDelete
  163. loved his back and forth with Leah while Klaroliners thought he backed them

    ReplyDelete
  164. Oh mac!! Only you would get this upset by other people gushing over a kiss.. pshhh... Damn I was looking forward to you ranting on that and me saying "don't blame the shippers mac. It's just a 10 sec scene." The universe feels unbalanced now. lol

So you had no problem with Digg staying back in the foundry looking at monitors while Roy and Laurel went to rescue the aldermen? I find it fascinating even the nitpicky critics (not just you) did not find that stupid to bench the most experienced fighter. I guess when it is a Laurel Lance episode it is allowed.

    ReplyDelete
  165. That banter with Brick was so cheesy and out of place. To be fair they did say Laurel was crazy. So she will provoke bad guys.

    ReplyDelete
  166. I always get annoyed with ships, not just on Arrow but everywhere (except TOs Haylijah for some reason, I can admire the highly risque writing behind that and would say it's actually a well executed romance for theCW wich isn't pushing the snooze part too hard but gives the hero an objective)
All will be fine again next week :P

That's why I understood him staying behind, he gave the instructions. He's not only the most experienced fighter but also the most experience tactician. Having Roy or Laurel stay in the foundry wouldn't help. They utilized the smartest member of the team behind a screen to give instructions and make the whole operation work. At least that's how I saw it.

Oliver wasn't there to use his magical "I plan everything ahead" ability, so they did it how you would usually do it: the brains: Diggle, the brawn: Roy and the wildcard: Laurel

    ReplyDelete
  167. You might be right. Maybe I am putting too much thought into this since not many others felt like I did. But everything else was great especially action scenes. Now Quentin thing is something else.

I wanted to beat something like Laurel was beating the bad guys. It must be freeing for her to take out all the frustrations on the bad guys. KC/action double actually put a lot of strength in to the beating scenes which made it really fun.

  168. Wtf are you talking about? This is not about shipping? ugh! Take your head out of your ass. I'm not wasting my time with someone who can't debate properly and stay on the actual topic. smh unbelievable. Bye. Your comment holds no weight now, and any chance i had of taking you seriously just went out the window. Good day to you.

    ReplyDelete
  169. Really could have done without the dream sequence. But I loved Felicity's scenes with Laurel and Ray. "I'd feel a lot better if you knew helicopters didn't have keys." Can I consider it foreshadowing that Roy pointed out to Malcolm that Thea has a way of finding out secrets. Malcolm is a pretty heinous villain and I can deal with that. What I generally can't deal with is villains winning. :-) But I just say I am seriously LOVING this version of Thea! The only bumpy road for me was Laurel's fighting. I decided that Laurel's problem is that she's trying to fight like Sarah. We've seen her more than competent on her own, back in season one and supposedly she's been training at that gym. So I expected her to do a lot better against that wood be rapist in the opening bit. What I really couldn't understand was why Dig wasn't out there with them during the first attempted rescue of the aldermen. His experience as a soldier would have been invaluable.

The flashbacks in this ep were more entertaining to watch but I'm still really disappointed in them this season. The flashbacks haven't felt like a self contained story; one of the best aspects of them during seasons one and two. Awesome ep for me though.

  170. Yes. Grrr. Very wrong. Very bad.

    ReplyDelete
  171. Or you're just interpreting it that way. It's been said before and I'll say it again: Sara was not the Black Canary. She was the Canary. And if you haven't acknowledged the Symbolism of her being "Black", then I feel sorry for you. It's not that subtle at all.

Do you remember the conversation between Laurel and Sara about the things she was forced to do? About her last assassination?

"Why would they give you such a beautiful name if you were so ugly" (or something along those lines). Laurel isn't meant to be sympathized with, just understood - in that her grief and swelling appetite for vengeance over her sisters death is what makes her weaker than Sara ever was. And she even went out of her way to point it out.

You're approaching this absolutely wrong. And your lack of understanding clearly demonstrates so.

    ReplyDelete
  172. I've said this before but I'll say it again; there is going to be NO Ray/Felicity. The show runners have said themselves that that romance is not going to happen. She's not moving on that way at all. But sometimes in times of grief you turn to people you may normally not. In Felicity's case one of those people is Ray, after all he lost his intended so he can understand what Felicity's going through and at that moment that's what she needed. Nothing romantic about it just friends being friends. (though I could see it was more so for him then her but then again it's been a few years since he lost is love so......)

    ReplyDelete
  173. weaker? what do you mean?

    ReplyDelete
  174. ODA, from all the comments to this episode I read from you. Totally agree with you.

    ReplyDelete
  175. it's so not about the name. Sara was the by far better character and actress. but even without the comparision, Laurel is just a bad, annoying, unlikeable character and I wish the writers wouldn't be so intent to keep her as a main part of the show. black or not is absolutely not the question, just as it's not relevant if Oliver calls himself green arrow or just arrow.

I'm disappointed that they didn't use the lazarus pit with oliver.I thought that would be how they made him stronger and more of a match for ras cause he obviously was no match for him at all. When they meet again, unless something happens,he still won't be.I don't like that

    ReplyDelete
  177. Excellent episode overall. I'm much more on board with Brick as a villain than I've been with most of the standard Starling City villains. Also thoroughly enjoying the Merlyn-Thea interactions..the duo are jelling well. It appropriate that Oliver's recovery is chugging along at snails pace because 'The Fall' was a huge life changer for Oliver & he needs time to process, heal & evolve. Plus they still haven't got round to explaining how exactly he survived (cold weather & a strong will doesn't save you from a sword impalement & a fall down a cliff)
    - Plus hey the Hong Kong flashbacks are surprisingly interesting! One of the strong points of the show in it's first 2 seasons were the island flashbacks but the HK ones in the first half of this season were a big letdown, so I'm glad that they are picking up.
    - The biggest suprise of this trilogy so far is me starting to like Laurel (of all people!). It's all to do with the writing and seems the writers have finally found a narrative that brings out some value frm the character.
