  1. Aaand no one cares.

  2. Beauty and the Beast, had had its moments, but the second season hook-up with Gabe was so ill-advised it is unfathomable. Plus, it just added to the implication that Cat is indeed a ....slut.

  3. It's dead but I'm sorry for the fans who enjoyed it!!

  4. yeah and she should wear a scarlet letter on her chest .....How old are you ? Twelve ?

  5. Honestly, I will never understand CW's equation with BatB. On the one hand, they seem to renew it against all odds (for which I'm sure fans are grateful) while on the other, they literally do not seem to care. No promotion, very minimal interaction by cast and crew, the male lead does not even make five seconds worth of time to tweet a thank you to fans on getting a PCA against all odds. It's just very confusing.

  6. Fans are the only one who seem to care, honestly. They literally have no one. Other fandoms mock them, CW ignores them, even their own cast and crew doesn't devote time on social media. I am not fond of certain things in the fandom but really, this makes me feel bad for them. Maybe because I was a fan myself in S1 and I still have friends who care. Anyway...

  7. As expected. Maybe as summer show it stands a chance, if only to get to sindication.

    ReplyDelete
  8. That's disappointing but kinda predicted. Being a summer show could be a good thing.

    ReplyDelete
  9. Really? Cast didn't thank fans for getting 2 PCAs for them? That's very ...strange. Considering enormous effort this fandom put in every online poll to win for male lead.

  10. Kristin (female lead) and Austin (most important male after the lead) did, Austin more enthusiastically. They are the only two I still follow from the show. Jay Ryan (male lead) definitely did not, one of my friends was really hurt at that. I think this is the reason why despite some of their annoying tactics, I feel for them. They singlehandedly do so much for the show and get little in return. It's tragic.

  11. Why should fans give up on a show they like? Just because the lead actors or other cast and crew members aren't THAT active on social media?

There's only one, maybe two actor(s) of the main cast of my favorite show who is (are) to some degree active on social media. No reason to not like the show, let alone to give it up.

  12. May sweeps end on May 20th this year. I could see them doing a double episode premiere and finale so that they share the slot with another 13 ep show they send to summer and have that other show finish up around the second week of Sept. Either way, this is the end for the beasties I think.

  13. I didn't say they should. I said I wonder how they haven't because I know I would have. AND I mentioned more factors than JUST cast/crew not being active on social media. It's individual nature, no need to jump at me. Peace!

  14. I don't think Jay has been on twitter much and he has a baby so he's probably busy being a dad.But yeah,he should thank fans

    ReplyDelete
  15. I like the show (wouldn't consider myself a fan, that would be my mom) but I hope they end it this season with a wrapped up ending.

    ReplyDelete
  16. Jay was never too active even when I used to follow him but he would come out on important occasions (wins/renewals/certain live-tweeting sessions). I did mention his daughter and the reply I got was: "Well easy for you to say, Stephen Amell is always around".
I honestly feel that being on social media or not is their choice but somehow in this day and age, fans have come to expect more from the stars than just being faces of the characters when the show is on-air. And specially when other stars go that extra mile for their fans, they wonder why their favourite can't. At least they do in my country. It's not a fair comparison but it's there. And in a way, I can understand where she is coming from. She took out time to vote A LOT, sometimes compromising on her sleep (typical beastie that way), so she was really sad about the lukewarm reaction. Like her hard work didn't matter and they don't care.

  17. Jay (and Kristin) made a video to say thanks to their fans. http://uk.eonline.com/videos/219627/beauty-and-the-beast-stars-say-thanks

  18. The link doesn't work, at least not for me. :(

  19. It's a blank page. Were they thanking for PCA?

  20. very long wait .i love beauty and the beast .the best for me

  21. Even though it is a long wait, I am glad that CW is giving BATB the summer to play it's season. The summer will allow the show to have less competition and will enable the people who usually can't watch it because of other shows to tune in and watch it live. :)

While I do believe Season 2 wasn't as great as it could have been, the writers really pulled through in the last six episodes of the season to give Beasties what they initially wanted. It was a risky move to have Vincent and Catherine become a romantic item in the first season because that increased the expectations of the fans in the second season. I think it has a lot to do with Brad Kern's jurisdiction on the writing; had they not hired him onto the show, I think the second season would have been better.

However, it is what it is, and there are some great moments in the second season (just not every episode is the best). I will continue watching the show and see it through, hoping that the writers are able to pull through and give us a great third season. I hope BATB will be renewed, but it just all depends on how the third season will go. I personally think it is easier to binge-watch the series because then you can stomach the not-so-great episodes faster and get to the better ones more quickly. All of the anticipation that goes on week to week heightens expectations, and when those are not fulfilled, fans freak.

While I didn't think Catherine should have dated Gabe (grimace), I would have liked the second season more if they had her date ANYBODY else in order for her to realize what she already, subconsciously knew. The same applies to Vincent; I didn't like how he and Tori were somewhat forced together because of there DNA alterations.... Tori was a very 2-D character and the writers could have given her a GREAT role if they didn't force Vincent and Tori together (and then kill her off at the end).

Yes, there were a few hiccups during Season 2, but I am willing on giving BATB another chance because the last six episodes of the show made up for the first sixteen episodes.

  22. The cast certainly does devote their time on the social media. Sure, they may not always post statuses, but they make sure to thank the BEASTIES for the hard work we do. Austin Basis (JT Forbes), Nina Lisandrello (Tess), Nicole Gale Anderson (Heather) and a new cast member, Jason Gedrick, as well as the crew members - such as Catherine Ashton (design) and Stuart Gillard (director) - all contribute time to interact with BEASTIES on Twitter.

Austin Basis has the strongest social media appearance.

The leading stars, Jay Ryan and Kristin Kreuk, lead private lives. They tweet when they want to, and we respect their privacy.

  23. i think the only reason for s2 failure may have been the communication breakdown with prev ex producer and the present one.how the hell did they think ppl will be okay with cat hooking up with gabe is a mystery to me.

  24. Beauty and the Beast is one of the most appealing shows to air on TV. Whether it airs now or in the summer it has a loyal dedicated fan base. The quality of acting and production is captivating and the stars are all quality professionals. Loyalty is not something that can be bought, it has to be earned and there is no doubt that the Cast and Crew have earned our utmost respect and loyalty. The journey that we have taken as a Fandom is exciting, challenging and no doubt a roller coaster ride. Butmit is thrilling and this show is SO WORTH IT! We will forever KEEQPBATBelieving.

  25. BATB really is a great show. It annoys me that people who have never watched the show continue to attack the show & it's fan base. I understand some people who use to watch no longer do bc of the way S2 was written, but once the writers realized it wasn't working they changed their path and pulled through for the fandom, I think it says a lot that no matter where/when the CW decides to put BATB the numbers remain steady. BATB has a loyal fan base that will follow the show wherever it goes. It also says a lot that despite not being on the air for almost 6 months the fan base still rallied to win 2 PCAs this year. It was the ONLY CW show to win more than one award this year. And the chemistry between the leads are like nothing I personally ever seen before and it's make other power couple on tv look stale imo. That's the only requirement I have of this show is that chemistry. With the exception of the lead male the cast does interact with the fandom & the crew does too. They are very good with us. Yes we'd like it if the lead male tweeted more, but we aren't going to turn our backs on this show bc of it. Other fanbases and critics have been very cruel to this show and it makes it worse when people talk about how the show should be canceled when they have not even watched one episode! Some times other fanbases have trolled us on social media. If you don't like the show and/or don't want to give it a chance then just hold your tongue to yourself. Cuz in reality the nasty, mean, hurtful, spiteful comments are doing nothing other than hurting people. Who are any of us to judge why ANY show has been renewed or canceled. None of us really know why CW does what it does.

  26. WHOA!!! I agree with you for the most part. But KK has tweeted with the fans on multiple occasions. I know because she's replied to my tweets like 6 different times at the very least! She even tweeted with the fans on that last episode. She and Amanda Terry were the only ones from the show that tweeted on the finale.

  27. It won 2 People's Choice Awards. That's not dead. Each season we were told it was dead. We are having the last laugh and are happy to have a 3rd season.

    ReplyDelete
  28. Either way, we're happy to have the next season and will worry about a 4th season when it's time to worry. Can't keep this beastie down. :-)

    ReplyDelete
  29. Jay stopped tweeting to beasties because of something that happened at twitter involving him. Nasty stuff. I don't blame if he never tweets again, and I'm a huge fan. Some ppl should have their accounts ripped away from them.

    ReplyDelete
  30. I agree with your binge watching explanation. It's how I became a fan of a few shows. My expectations were always too high.

    ReplyDelete
  31. Whoops! I guess I am not on Twitter whenever KK tweets to fans. My mistake!

But I do stand by my statement that JR is a private person. He does tweet occasionally and respond every so often, but he does not have a strong social media presence - which isn't a bad thing. I respect his privacy. :)

    ReplyDelete
  32. Why dead. It was renewed with the aim of being placed in summer. They said they have big plans for summer programming in 16. I think they renewed all their shows and are planning to move the lower rated ones to summer next year. If batb does OK and by OK I mean 0.3 as the cw standards ratings wise are pretty low based on these renewals it could easily get a forth season for syndication. I can really see that hapoening .

    ReplyDelete
  33. That's fair enough. Doesn't change the fact that people are hurt because he couldn't even bother coming on for a minute to acknowledge their hard work. Anyway, my main point wasn't even about Jay not being on twitter but everything surrounding the show in general. It's his life, end of the day, he can do whatever he wants. Even if it upsets fans, most of them move on.

    ReplyDelete
  34. Oh I do apologise. When I said crew, I actually meant the writers. I am aware of Ashton's and Gillard's activity level, at least what it was last year. Sorry. As for the cast, yes that's fine. I am not judging them for their presence/absence but it does have certain consequences in terms of how fans perceive them and relate to them. I was mainly referring to that when I made that comment.

  35. Some fans are unable to understand the difference between real life and fiction. When they fail to get what they wish to see and hear they stop being nice supporters and become childish dictators. However very often fake characters are much more interesting and charming than real people that's why I don't really care about the actors' personality or social life until he/she can deliver on screen.
Btw I do like Jensen Ackles and for sure he's not a social network beast. lol.

    ReplyDelete
  36. As much as I like Batb and Supernatural I really miss the purpose of having a CW TV network.

  37. Can't wait for season 3 even if it is only a few episodes. Even after how badly season two was with Gabe and the lovers being enemies I still watch my season 1 Dvds! I just wish they would put the show on a better time slot. We are always on the same time as a big show like American Idol or a sports event interrupts us. How can we go against that? I truly believe if they would put a little effort into advertisement like Arrow and The Flash Beauty and the Beast would get many more fans! Look how well The Flash is doing. Everyone loves a hero and who doesn't love one as sexy as Vincent. :) If they would have kept solving crimes together it would have been great in my book. Maybe we will see some different threats that they will fight together I'm looking forward to seeing what's next! :) Cross fingers that it will always be with them together! :) There are still fans hanging on to this show all around the world ... :) A Beastie Family! Let's try to keep our show going!

Yes some of the leads most certainly appreciated the votes and did answer. As for JR very private person and given some of the comments I have read about his life I don't blame him for not being on social media. I would remove myself from it too! I think we all know that he cares about this show and cast and crew. I thinnk he knows how well he is liked and he appreciates it in a different way. As Beastsies we know and love him anyway even if he doesn't answer.

  39. PCAs mean nothing.
BatB will still be more than a full season from syndication after the third season & it's ratings we're very low in season two, that's why people say its dead. Also,I've heard the reason it got a third season at all was because it sold for three seasons internationally and that will be done with the upcoming season. Also,Pedowitz said there would be new summer shows and with so many shows renewd-WL,ANTM,MOI,P& T,Reign,Jane,Arrow,SPN,Flash,VD,TO,-there's little room for BatB beyond season three, that's another reason people say its dead especially if Czw moves its lowest rated in season shows-Reign-to summer.

Go and bother someone else. I don't get this incessant hatred towards BATB

    ReplyDelete
  41. people always say that the leading cast doesn't tweet which is totally unfair towards Kristin : she always reacts and never fails to Thank the fans. She is really lovely ! Jay used to be like that too but something made him change his mind ! Maybe several hate tweets he got ? Stuart Gillard and Austin Basis did also live tweet for the season finale !

    ReplyDelete
  42. Either way, it may be but then again, maybe not. It must really sting when you and the others here get it wrong every time:)

    ReplyDelete
  43. Fans like you are the reason people rail against your show. I personally could care less about BatB. My comment was to inform another poster as the the end date of may sweeps. With the CW renewing their entire fall lineup, the speculation I posited is a justified one. Keep living up to the stereotype we all have in our minds of your fanbase.

    ReplyDelete
  44. All good dude! That is true for Ryan. He only got an account cause he had to. KK is private as well. But she has come WAY out of her shell. She used to be a lot more shy. I asked her about it on Twitter actually and she said, "I am so much more open, loving, accepting of myself and others, expressive, honest." Shes come a long way. As a person whose been following her since she was 18, I'm proud of her.

    ReplyDelete
  45. Oh for sure! Kristin, in EVERY tweet she has replied to me has either ended or started with, "Thank you." And I've met her too, so I know what a genuine sweetheart she is.

    ReplyDelete
  46. And yes, you are correct. I couldn't recall if Austin Tweeted or not. He tweeted later I think for the west coast. KK did the east coast.

    ReplyDelete
  47. Let the hate flow through you. Sad sad sad.

    ReplyDelete
  48. Setheriel sorry you feel sad:( come over to our side love, love love.

    ReplyDelete
  49. You must be stinging again he he he. Renewed for 4th season. Let the love continue. Lol
