    Ah!!! They're talking about Caroline on their boy trip that's awesome! and a relief! I love how Damon called Caroline "perfect" like Stefan did a few episodes back. "There are no drawbacks to this woman Stefan!" Alaric: "She slept with you." Damon: " See another plus." LOL that was funny. And yesss Stefan, do what Damon said, date her already and put the group out of their misery. You do think of her that wayk you're just kidding yourself. Give it time. You're also not friends with her anymore, sooo that line, yeahh you're also fooling yourself...atm.

    Ugh, god you're tiresome. You're bringing up the same shit, that people argued about six years ago! for two years! This is why when you ramble about your "Theory" I ignore you, b/c i have nothing to say. He NEVER raped her!! She slept with him willing!! Compelling her to keep her mouth shut, and feeding on her, is not "rape". He never sexually took advantage of her. And the fact that you still think so is laughable!!! Do you really think Caroline would be how she is with him now, if he raped her??? She's saved his life, she argues with him, she jokes with him, etc etc etc, they may not be the "best of buds" but they've had a relationship for years!!! And i for one, will not get dragged into some old age, long passed, "discussion" just b/c YOU have some chip on your shoulder about a Damon/Caroline fling. Damon has proven himself to Caroline over and over again, and everyone's seen it.     I guess this makes me officialy against Steroline. No, just no. And of course Damon wants Stefan with Caroline, even if he married Elena and Stefan married Caroline, he would still be threatened by Stefan and Elena. He will always be.

    I'm also really uncomfortable with Alaric making comments about one of his former student's sex life, that was kinda gross.

    Lol, Ric and Damon ribbing Stefan is adorbs. IMO it's sweet to see Damon rooting for Steroline and great to see him finally admit out loud that he knows how awesome Caroline is :) Stefan is in total denial, he loves that girl and I can't wait until he admits it to himself.

    IDK! I'd like him to have a simple low-key realization, like he's watching her be happy and enjoying seeing her like that and he suddenly gets it. IMO that'd tie in cutely with Caroline's 4x19 speech about how one day he'd have moved on and fallen madly in love without even realizing it was happening :)

    I don't even want to think about Liz dying. (I hate that that theory is floating around) That would really break my heart. I just want it to be simple, like she'll ignore him for a while, and he'll just miss her. Orrrrr maybe he'll get all sentimental around Christmas when she's decorating the tree, wants to talk to her, and he takes her under the mistletoe, unknowingly. But nooo, it'll be dramatic. I just hope (however they do it), that Caroline isn't the one to make the first move. I want Stefan to do it.

    Well I didn't hear about all that (I don't like too many spoilers). What I know is that Bonnie will still be there in limbo, reminiscing about good times. with Elena and Caroline doing the same. And i already had the feeling Kai was getting out soon. That's about it. (And no that's not me asking for more information). But i don't see Caroline getting sucked in anywhere. That's just me though.

    Are we still on that? I know Damon haters love to bring that up, but the only way it COULD be considered rape would be if he had used compulssion to get her to sleep with him, which he didn't, he only used it to get her to forget he was a vampire, but she wanted to sleep with him, she even flirted with him first. I don't condone what Damon did, it wasn't right, but it wasn't rape either.

    You know what's even worse, they refer to Damon as a hero now, the same guy who just last season chocked Jeremy because Elena broke up with him (I know it wasn't her but he didn't know that), the same guy they were afraid of what he would do if he found out that Stefan killed Enzo in self defense, when Elena said that her type is over the top heroes I rolled my eyes so hard it still hurts.

    With that POV everyone has abused someone at one moment or another in this show. Sometimes we just need to remember this is a TV show about vampires, and it will be morally ambiguous and sometimes just plain wrong and disturbing, but if you're going to hold it up to real life standards everything they do will be wrong.

    Hold on a second...That's the basics of a vampire. Feeding on people and erasing their memories, in some legends even seducing people. Seeing from the eyes of a human is totally wrong, but the morals on this show are the morals of vampires which are fundamentally different. We had Katherine doing the exact same thing with Stefan no one even pointed out...Fandom even called Stefan and Katherine''s love pure and brilliant. But when it comes to what Damon did to caroline, everyone suddently becomes humanitarian.
    Besides, Let's not forget the fact that Caroline is still alive and didn't die because of her soon-to-be-boyfriend's werewolf bite back in season 2 was Damon. Everything's kinda bygones now.

    I'm going to be honest with you, I'm not one of those people that watch every Damon/Caroline related scene through rape tainted glasses, so I found it funny. I think it was just suppossed to be a carefree scene with three friends talking about a girl one of them likes. I don't, know, like I said, I just don't see it your way, if I sit down and analize and overthink the situation I guess I could get behind the abuse theory, but it way 6 years ago so I'm not going too, since Caroline doesn't either. There're some things that for me are deal breakers. If this wasn't a fantasy show, but a normal drama show, and I believed one of the main characters abused one of the other main characters I would've stopped watching already, if it bothers you so much, maybe you should do that. What's the point of watching something you don't enjoy?

    Hmm. I don't mind a prospective Stefan and Caroline relationship at all but I have to agree with the others: this sneak peek is not good.

    What is it with this show always telling us such stuff through other characters mouths (reminds me of Rose pontificating about Damon to Elena when she was with Stefan way back in S2). It seems forced. Don't tell through other character speeches, show through character actions.

    lack of story + fan service = definitely the final season
    I think she knows this. so many TV writers seem to think happy ending is enough for a series. it may work for movies, but when you have a tv show that span multiple years the only thing that works is an EPIC ending. prepare to be disappointed

    I find it strange that you choose to believe that Caroline wasn't raped, and yet presumably you're aware that he tried to murder her once she was turned into a vampire. Why are one of these things easier for you to accept?


    Caroline woke up in bed, was terrified, and ran for the door. That is not an ambiguous scene. Feel free to believe your own head canon, but the actual show displayed a sexually abusive relationship. Don't expect other people to buy into what you want their history to be instead of the sexual assault that we were shown onscreen.

    Actually, sleeping with someone under extremely false pretenses is enough to be considered rape or sexual assault in the courts of law in most countries. For instance, sleeping with someone and then immediately assaulting them would be considered sexual assault instead of a simple assault charge. Not allowing the person to leave after this would also likely be considered an act of sexual assault. These are both examples of 'post facto' events which are legally considered to materially change the llegal nature of the entire sexual encounter.


    The jurisprudence should be readily available online for American cases, if you're curious about this and want to read further.

    IMO it all boils down to this: people who are fans of Stefan have hated Damon for the past 5 years no matter what he's done, good or bad. Now Stefan's romance with Elena is over and they REALLY hate Damon because Elena has chosen him - of her own free will, let's remember. So, I expect the negative, even hate-filled, comments about Damon, Julie and the writers will go on and on. TVD is pure fantasy, not real life; no one is all bad or all good; and everyone has the option to watch the show or not.

    Umm excuse me. I was happy about the clip, I found it light and enjoyable, then he came along and threw his negativity on it. So I was not the one that replied. I asked nicely for him to not discuss that topic with me b/c he and I would not agree on it ever. And he made it clear that his mind would never change. (Which I accept) so what's done and said, was done and said. Damon tired to kill Caroline b/c at the time she was a threat and he got rid of ALL threats. Every one of those characters have tried to kill someone who was or HAS killed anyone who was a threat on the show. Why is Damon the only one being "outed" for his bad doings?? Give me a break. Caroline and Damon are BEYOND past all of that. And I think it's ridiculous to keep bringing up those situations when ALL the characters have done something worse to one another. ESPECIALLY, when it has nothing to do with the clip.

    Ehhhh, I have to disagree. On the "whichever way they do it part." That's one thing that's always made me mad about the show. (Well not always but sometimes) like Caroline admitting her feelings, she was fine keeping it closed, until Enzo blew up her spot. I'm still not over that. He did it b/c he was offended by her words, (which I really don't see why b/c it was true! Stefan did team up with his sworn enemy) And then Stefan kinda pushed it out of her. I wanted Caroline to tell him on his own, b/c she was struggling with it, she at least owed that much. I hope that when he feelings for her are revealed it'll come from HIM and no one else. Not Damon, not Alaric, not Lexi in some way shape or form, but from Stefan alone! A nice heart to heart like they had at the hospital, or the one they had in the back of the car when they were laying down.

    "Feeding on people and erasing the memories" is not the basics of a vampire. Feeding on people is, but because earlier vampire fiction focused on female victims, their lack of memory was generally attributed to trauma. Contrast Dracula's Harker, who has a considerable amount of memory about the events he experience, with Lucy and Mina, who have no idea what's going on while they are being victimized. Once Lucy figures it out, Dracula attempts to hold her in his thrall, but this is different than memory erasure.

    Ideas of hypnotism and female hysteria were extremely popular in the fin de siecle period. Emblified in literature by the titular Dracula and Trilby's Svengali, and in science by Freud's Studies in Hysteria case study about Frau von N. The idea of vampires holding people in thrall is chiefly rooted in this period, and subsequent interpretations which use Dracula as their chief inspiration. Previous literary efforts (Carmilla, Varney the Vampire) involved sleeping victims (a thread which Dracula somewhat maintained) while The Vampyre's Lord Ruthven relied entirely on his charisma and manipulation (although that story intentionally left out the gory details, instead focusing on psychological factors.)


    Vampires that you see on television are literary, not mythological. While there are certainly vampires that exist in folklore, as well as vampiric myths in most cultures, they are not related to what you see on screen. The actual 'vampire' myth from ancient Europe depicted Vampires as the malevolent dead brought back as bloated, decaying corpses and usually did not have fangs. They were not mindless, but they were not exactly complicated psychological creatures either. The modern vampire is taken from the 19th century works that I've cited above, along with Lugosi's Dracula.

    I fear that something bad would happen to her just to make Stefan realize it. He already said she was pretty much perfect what more does he need? I do however, would love to see Caroline go dark this season, THAT would be fun to watch. For a little while.

    TO is so good right now. Given the manner in which Plec's work has shaken out, it seems clear that she needs a strong creative partner to keep her in line. We're not getting that on TVD, but we are on TO, which got better the farther away it was removed from Plec's original vision.

    I was ok with how Caroline's feelings came out bc IMO she/they needed that push or things might never have moved forward lol. But ITA about wanting Stefan to admit to his feelings on his own. People have tried telling him, now it's time for Stefan to figure things out and make his move ;) And OMG don't mention the car scene!!! Love that sooo much, 1 of their best ever scenes together IMO :)

    Pftt! That scene is in my top 5 (not sure which number tho) favorite steroline moments. lol I'm up right now. (can't sleep been up for 4 hrs it's 5:03am) watching recent Steroline fanmade vids. There's some good ones, (after this past episode of course) my feels are all over the place. lol can't wait for tonight. I hope today goes by fast.

    You misunderstood me completely!I said in this case,Julie worked so wellwith kevin back in season 1 & 2,And now in TO,with michael narducci.She is going completely overboard with fan pleas and pandering in TVD now that she and caroline are running it.It was directed against julie Based on the facts and results for all of us to see.I had never intended it to be a generalized comment against women.I respect them more than anything.

    Caroline arranged for this whole event and considering he just outed her in front of stefan,i can't blame her for not including enzo in the guest list!She's still pissed,i assume.And yes,he is clearly into her,it couldn't be more clear.Seems like someone needs to out him in front of caroline!LOL!

    I am saying what i'm seeing.TVD went downhill right after kevin williamson exit the show.The result is in front of everyone to see.It's not about who does the job better-man or woman.I believe it depends on the person,irrespective of sex.I didn't mean to offend anyone.
