ReplyDelete3 years ago shows had 2.5s as a normal demo on the Big 3(ABC, NBC and, especialy, CBS)... Now they're going more and more into CW numbers... There are only a few shows that do +3.0 numbers...

ReplyDeleteAs i see it now is that if one of 2 new shows will perform terrible, Cw can cancel HOD,BATB,Jane + iZombie/Messengers or maybe if The 100 starts falling for some reason. Other than that Reign's chances are getting smaller and smaller

ReplyDeleteok ust checked so many are co-productions and quite a few are just warner. the only one which is just CBS (No warner at all) is BATB. virgin, batb and reign and the messengers are distributed by cbs. considering politics plays a role and they need a few cbs heavier shows I feel that at least half of the cbs distributed shows may survive despite lower ratings

ReplyDeleteThat spoiler about something bad happening to one of their main characters did not Reign's ratings. Pretty much everyone I know stopped watching when they heard about it.

ReplyDeleteI suspected Scandal might drop for the finale just because quite a few comments (I haven't caught up for a few episodes now) on last week's episode expressed some form of disappointment, with some even calling it the worst episode of the season so far. I'm just glad it came down only a tenth considering last week's pretty overwhelming negative reviews.

ReplyDeletewell I for one am convinced that the show is done, the only thing saving it is the simple notion of being CBS property, wich isn't really much of a saving grace for the show.
ReplyDeleteOf the endangered shows I'll predict this:
The 100, never got a 22 episode season, so a 11 episode season is plausible. 11 episode long 3rd season it is as a mid-season show
Reign: certainly done on CW/CBS side, not sure about Take5, they might want to ship it
Jane the Virign: I'm willing to take my chances here and say that it's cheap to produce and solid filler for screentime, it's not doing significantly worse than Reign did last season and that show got a 22 episode renewal. a 11 episode renewal is surely in the cards
Messengers: Dominion, a thematically similar show with a bigger budget was underperforming. So I'm willing to believe that this show will dangle between 0.4-0.3s before being canned
iZombie: may have curiosity going for it, given the pretty well known talent behind it, this might actually go on for a second season
Hart of Dixie: the cast has acted like it was ending for weeks now, it sure is over
BatB: like HoD got a mercy renewal and is likely dead after this season
Virgin is CBS

ReplyDeleteThe Vampire Diaries episode was awesome! The show is in its fifth season, is the rating really that bad? I - at least- enjoy it more than ever, maybe those ratings reflect the core viewers who really like this show, no matter what happens, but that also means they stay. Like SN, it is not attracting new viewers, but is steady with the old ones. For the CW that might be enough.
