  1. Sadly, if anyone dies, it'll be Quentin.

    ReplyDelete
  2. If they kill another female after already killing Shado, Moira & Sara in a span of 1 year i think things will get ugly. But i could almost see them killing Nyssa after she does what she is suppose to do this season.

    ReplyDelete
  3. Roy>Quentin>Diggle
    Ted Grant > Ray Palmer

    ReplyDelete
  4. OLIVER QUEEN ?!! Lol that will be chocking !!

    ReplyDelete
  5. I dont think there will be a main character death this season, we had Moira and Sara dying in the span of 4 episodes apart. I think thats enough major grief for some time now.

Ted Grant or Ray Palmer, I think it will be a non main character.

    ReplyDelete
  6. I think they have plans for Ray Palmer beyond Arrow, either to send him to Flash or a spin-off. So i dont think he will die.

    ReplyDelete
  7. Ted Grant and Ray Palmer are no regulars so I'm guessing they will be the first to die. Other than that, no major deaths for a while please. I am betting the first regular death will be from a character portrayed by a seasoned actor, a.k.a. either Quentin, Diggle or Malcolm.

    ReplyDelete
  8. Not gonna vote, because I feel like if I have any kind of prediction (which I don't) it's not shocking. It's hard to say. I wouldn't say Malcolm would be a surprise. He's died once and he's not as valuable as everyone else is.

    ReplyDelete
  9. Quentin possibly this season as for resurrection might be Tommy I dunno I have a feeling they didn't bring him for just one flashback the Lazarus pit has to come to fore sometime

Ted Grant has a long history ahead of him as Wildcat and Ray Palmer has a date with destiny as the Atom and a member of the Justice League. So, no: they won't die.

    ReplyDelete
  11. After taking away Sara I doubt they will take away Laurels father. I mean how much can that poor girl deal with.

    I think it'll be Malcom.

    ReplyDelete
  12. Hopefully, there will not be any deaths from our side this season, at least none that fans are particularly attached to. I don't want any of them to die or Nyssa. I have had a niggling doubt that they are showing a lot of Diggle's family time and I don't like it. Because I don't trust it. TV has made me cynical. Diggle Family and especially, little Diggle baby are off limits writers!

You could say the same about thea

    ReplyDelete
  14. All I know is, the one character that should die, won't! Yet we continue to lose all the characters we actually like. Then again they only kill the characters the audience cares about, not the ones we'd cheer dying.

    ReplyDelete
  15. Thea will always have her brother though. Killing Lance will be taking away Laurels last main family member since her mom is pretty much MIA for the most part

    ReplyDelete
  16. "We" People love to use that word I think they need to look up the definition of it.

    ReplyDelete
  17. They do use the DC Comic universe rather loosely on the show though, right? I'm not a reader of the comics so I'm just going by the comments I have read honestly.

Haven't there been some characters introduced that are ongoing in comics, but killed on the show? Guillermo Barrera comes to mind... Plus, altering backstories is also pretty common from what I understand.

Not saying I think they will die, just that them living on in comics or becoming heroes in the comics at some point does not necessarily mean they will not die...
    *Shrug*

    ReplyDelete
  18. I have not found many a death on Arrow to be shocking honestly..

I'm not sure who will die next, but as much as I like the series I am growing bored of every character on the series being a hero, sidekick in training or a villain. They really need to introduce more normal people as regulars!

Who is left that is a normal person that does not have some hero or villain future in the wind? Captain Lance? Anyone else?

    ReplyDelete
  19. I worry for Lyla. They have to be doing something with all the screentime she and ARGUS are getting, but I'm hoping for more betrayal/splitting up/taking over ARGUS after Waller gets her just desserts than death. I don't think they'll kill anyone for a bit, some might leave for The Flash, but major character deaths are probably out until at least midseason--and then I worry for Malcolm, his welcome has already been extended once.

    ReplyDelete
  20. "We".You keep using that word, I don't think it means what you think it means.

    ReplyDelete
  21. Personally I think they're building up Amanda Waller for season 4 big bad (OMAC hint in the last episode. She wants someone "of the board" a.ka Checkmate). The bitch is clearly totally ruthless.

    ReplyDelete
  22. Of the people on the list most seem to pretty safe in their Destiny Plot Armor. If they didn't kill Quentin in the season finale he should be safe for a bit. He's Gordon to Oliver's Batman after all. Malcom isn't the main event this year, and all superheroes need a reoccuring nemeis, a dark mirror.

Hmm, no I think Death has had her fill for this year.

    ReplyDelete
  23. Then what the hell are you doing watching a comic book show?

    ReplyDelete
  24. Well it's clearly going to be either Quentin or Ted Grant. Because someone close to her has to die to keep progressing her story.

Tommy- For the pill addict and alcoholic storyline
    Sara- To get her training

    ReplyDelete
  25. Thea doesn`t need Malcolm he`s a crazy psychopath

    ReplyDelete
  26. Sigh. Tommy dies more for Oliver than for Laurel.

    ReplyDelete
  27. ah yes. If you deny that then your obviously just biased against Laurel. He was the whole reason why Oliver stopped killing people.

    ReplyDelete
  28. Guillermo Barrera is not really a major player in the comics, so its not really a major game changer, not like killing someone from the JLA, JSA.

I don't like how they are setting up Quintin with his heart problems.

    ReplyDelete
  29. That's why I don't watch many! XD
It gets extremely boring to me if everyone has special skills or powers.

Arrow did start off with a lot of "normal" characters in the cast, but some were killed and others are leaving their normal days behind them for their hero alter egos.

Nobody is going to die for the rest of the year... When you reach a point in wich every season you kill someone, it stops being "shocking" and people end up doing pools about "who's next?".

Tommy died so to propel Oliver's arc for Season 2.
Moira died to propel Thea's arc for Season 3.
Sara died to propel everyone's identity crisis.

Killing again wouldn't be a shocker but a "oh, they already did their anual death"...

I seriously don't know who on earth is voting for killing Laurel or Felicity or Thea... That will never gonna happen.

Diggle? Maybe, but on a way later season.

    ReplyDelete
  31. Ahh, okay.
I just recall someone commenting about how disappointed they were Barrera was killed or killed so easily... I forget.

    ReplyDelete
  32. I have no idea...I didn't realize there was another impeding big death.. I'm hoping it isn't Quentin (who seems high risk). The CW shows have an annoying habit of killing off regular characters over the age of 40. I'd also be very sad if it were Felicity, Diggle or Roy

    ReplyDelete
  33. People are just guessing for the sake of guessing. I think they reached their quota for death for a while.

    ReplyDelete
  34. Kate Spencer died before becoming Manhunter.

    ReplyDelete
  35. I can't see them killing off the Atom (Ray Palmer), he is to high up in DC, I read somewhere a number of years ago, that TV need permission from DC to kill certain characters off, I'm just not sure if its all DC characters or just a certain number of top characters, but the Atom would be up there. I know Smallville had to get the Ok for Hawkmans death.

    ReplyDelete
  36. Thanks for another example.
I assumed there were more, but I don't know the DC universe to pick out the differences between comic canon and TV series.

    ReplyDelete
  37. The ones they are killing off are minor characters, ones without their own comics, it kinda like cameo appearances or Easter eggs for the fans that know who the character is but others will not.

    ReplyDelete
  38. out of the list, I figure that it wont be any of the main players (Oliver, Felicity (the shippers would freak and this is the CW... lol) Diggle) and out of the rest, I would guess Quentin as it feels they are prepping for it by the way they keep mentioning that he's been having problems with his heart....

    ReplyDelete
  39. Nicolás Caballero Mühlbach25 October 2014 at 18:22

Those who had voted for Laurel are very naive.

    ReplyDelete
  40. INCONCEIVABLE!!

    ReplyDelete
  41. I dunno if anyone will agree with me but I'm thinking Lyla might be the next major death. They're starting to really hype up Amanda Waller and how ruthless a person she is, what with Oliver's flashbacks this season and ARGUS's involvement in last week's episode. It's clear Diggle is starting to be concerned that Lyla works for her.

    ReplyDelete
  42. If they really wanted to surprise people, it'd be Roy. A male hero instead of killing another woman, and he's a canon character.

Unfortunately it'll probably be Thea or Lance. Maybe Diggle, but I don't know if they'd want to kill off the only POC in the main cast.

    ReplyDelete
  43. lol obviously Roy would be the most surprising, he has the least number of votes in the poll. But I really doubt they'll kill him off.

    ReplyDelete
  44. Thea will not DIE! She should become Speedy.

    ReplyDelete
  45. I don't think Arrow's creators have conscientiously intended to kill off their female characters--but after killing off the popular Sara (in order to fulfill their promise to make Laurel the Canary), I doubt if another women were to go--so that saves Laurel, Thea, Felicity, as well as maybe Nyssa and Diggle's wife, Lyla. So, if they feel that they have to kill a regular character (and cut the payroll), Quentin is the likely one.

My hope, however, is that not only do they NOT kill another regular, but that they find a way to bring back Sara. I know there's going to be flashback of her--but, like many fans, I felt that her story had more to tell. An empowered, strong woman; who was an Assassin, but changed and fought for Good. Yes, a Female Arrow. All the other female characters exists solely in Oliver/Arrow's "orbit". They are there to move HIS story along. And, although the show is "Arrow", I believe there's room for at least one other "independent" character.

    ReplyDelete
  46. Ha! My Poll. I submitted this after the death of Sara. FYI by this poll I do not mean another death in this season. I meant the next super shocking death whenever it may be.

    ReplyDelete
  47. Quentin or - and I hate to call it but - Lyla...

    ReplyDelete
  48. Sarah van Binnebeke25 October 2014 at 23:25

Thea does not need Malcolm she would be better of without him but him dying does mean she would lose another father (thats why you could say the same about thea)

    ReplyDelete
  49. Sarah van Binnebeke25 October 2014 at 23:38

but that is a brother that lies to her keeps secrets from her and has a full time job saving star(ling) city and thus has never sinds he's been back made her his full time priority he loves her he has saved her as the arrow but does that not mean that every time the arrow saved her or roy or somebody else her brother was not there for her when she needed him?

that question mark was not an end to a very very long sentence but a genuine question

    ReplyDelete
  50. Sarah van Binnebeke25 October 2014 at 23:40

in my page your reply to ore is directly below my reply so it looks like you agree with me muhahaha

    ReplyDelete
  51. I see what you mean but Laurel pretty much has no one now except her father, which is were I would define the difference.

    ReplyDelete
  52. Sarah van Binnebeke26 October 2014 at 00:34

but wouldnt lance dying make laurel and her mother closer
in my mind the excuse her mother has for not being a real presence is that she has her father close by
    so if he should die...

    ReplyDelete
  53. I think that they might kill-off Thea. Thea is nicknamed Speedy and if she dies, Roy was take that name to honour her.

    ReplyDelete
  54. I don't read comics. But all the building--especially with Hong Kong flashbacks--for a season down the road seems like an awfully long game. Something ARGUS better happen this season or they have wasted a lot of time and my patience for disjointed storylines.

    ReplyDelete
  55. It means first person plural. So as long as @carlybabes knows one person who agrees with him/her, she/he is perfectly allowed to use it. Given the up votes, I think the proof is there that he/she isn't alone.

    ReplyDelete
  56. Probably Lance but I wish it would be Laurel. I still find her annoying. Every since the pilot.

    ReplyDelete
  57. Joke...missed. At least Mister J got it.

    ReplyDelete
  58. Like how Ra's Al Ghul has been built up over two seasons you mean? Or how Slade's mask was present in the pilot and the man himself introduced in season 1 flashbacks a little later..

.I suppose it's possible that Amanda will get ousted from ARGUS in some way this year, but she's been built up for too long to not become a seasonal baddie.

    ReplyDelete
  59. Yeah, there are those guys that think sticking kids' heads in the toilet is funny too. I got the allusion, I also got that you were using a "joke" to disrespect someone's comment without adding any substantive argument of your own.

    ReplyDelete
  60. Disrespect no. Disagree, definatly.

We all know there's a certain subset of fans out there who likes to think they speak for everyone.

    ReplyDelete
  61. A mask and a mention aren't having episodes devoted to them. And seasons 1 and 2 weren't so cluttered. This season is super disjointed right now. And frankly we've spent a lot more time with Waller is a crazy b*tch than Ras. They need fewer threads. If one of those that taking up a bunch of time isn't going to pay out until next season, in my book, that is a major error in plot balance.

    ReplyDelete
  62. I might respectfully suggest that you find as dictionary then, because you certainly aren't using disrespect and disagree correctly.

And I know that everyone wants to think the majority or at least a plurality of people agree with them. Just like you felt justified being rude because Mister j agreed with you.

    ReplyDelete
  63. Did Mister J agree with me? I have no idea. All that his comment reveals is that he caught the reference.

    ReplyDelete
  64. Voted Quentin. I'd be very sad, he's my Fav. Lance, (then Sara).

    ReplyDelete
  65. that's true. tbh I kinda forgot about her mother.

    ReplyDelete
  66. Agreed his death is what pushed Oliver to become a hero. That being said it did have a profound (if less to an extent) effect on Laurel's storyline.

    ReplyDelete
  67. yeah it did have a small effect on Laurel, since she was close to him, but it was primarily for Oliver arch in season 2. Saying that Tommy died primarily progress Laurel's story is ridiculous

    ReplyDelete
  68. Tommy's death was the reason she started abusing drugs and alcohol which gave Blood the ability to get her fired, and exacerbate her downward spiral so I really don't think it's that ridiculous.

    ReplyDelete
  69. oliver's mentor in hong kong because his wife's katana

    ReplyDelete
  70. Historical_Materialist26 October 2014 at 05:25

    Oliver: Obviously not.

Laurel: Obviously not. Her destiny is to become Black Canary.

Roy: No. His destiny is to continue as Arsenal.

Felicity: Very unlikely but not because of any specific plot reason. She actually doesn't do anything except drive romance drama and most importantly: she's a utility character that is used to quickly provide technical or scientific explanations or to unlock things. At least one utility character is needed.

Diggle: Very likley. He is also a utility character: a support fighter. His plot is tied to ARGUS for the moment. When that resolves or escalates: he will likely die.

Quentin: 50/50 but unlikely given that Laurel has only recently lost her sister. It would be unlikely that the writers would continue to heap more misery on her. It wouldn't serve anything because Sara's death has already given Laurel the motivation to become Black Canary. Losing her father wouldn't change anything or have a purpose. Plus Quentin is also needed to be the human connection between the super heroes and the ordinary citizens of Starling City.

Thea: Very likely. She's obviously being groomed as a bad guy by Malcolm. Along with her fight training she's likely been programmed/brainwashed to some extent. The big reveal will be that it was Thea that killed Sara ("what are you doing here?" Sara knew her killer and didn't react defensively when she saw him/her). Or she knew what she was doing and killed Sara out of revenge for her mother's death at the hands of Slade. She blames Sara for Oliver choosing her over Shado thus setting off the chain of events that lead to her mother's death.

Malcolm: Likely. He's died before: why not again.

Ted Grant: He's Wildcat. He's not going anywhere.

Ray Palmer: He's the Atom. He's not going anywhere.

    ReplyDelete
  71. So That's like saying that Sara died primarily for Felicity's storyline. It's what caused her to take the job with Ray Palmer. lol

    ReplyDelete
  72. No not even close. When did I even ever say primarily for Laurel? I didn't I merely acknowledged the relevance of his death to her story. Look I may not like Laurel a lot (hell I hated her in season 2) but it's clear Tommy's death had a reasonably significant impact on her storyline. You disagree fine, but don't put words in my mouth in an attempt to disprove my point.

    ReplyDelete
  73. Erm, Laurel going on to do drugs and becoming an alcoholic is no small effect :/ Apparently Tommy's death (according to the EPs and KC) caused Laurel to go through a crucible. That's no small thing. So yeah, Tommy's death was significant for Laurel just as it was significant for Oliver.

    ReplyDelete
  74. One can dream ... Felicity

    ReplyDelete
  75. I don't think they're looking for logic. But thank you for reminding them of the definition. I have a feeling, they already knew.

    ReplyDelete
  76. "Used by the speaker or writer to indicate the speaker or writer along with another or others as the subject."

Because clearly you need the clarification.

    ReplyDelete
  77. Sarah van Binnebeke27 October 2014 at 10:18

    that made me laugh

    ReplyDelete
  78. I've been thinking about it and I hope its Thea... ugh but as I think about it more I hope its Laurel. Maybe I'll get a surprise and they both go down in a building collapse. Oh, who am I kidding, that's pushing it.
