  1. Well. That did not help ease my fear of flying at all. Yeesh. Really tense moment when there was that silence as everyone waited to hear from the second plane.
Had a feeling the girl who lived with Kate was related to her somehow (either that, or I'd considered maybe she'd adopted her, too, at first). I kinda liked her and Reid commiserating over their respective sad pasts. And I liked that they had one of those "inside the crime scene" things with Reid "walking" through the plane crash as he explained how a plane was structured and whatnot, too. So much technical terminology being bandied about this episode, it was interesting trying to keep up with it all :p.

  2. Still not sold on Kate, but this was a good episode. Best one of the season so far. Stay tuned for my review!

  3. I'm glad you enjoyed the episode-I was wondering what all you'd be saying about it while I was watching! I look forward to your review.
Sorry Kate's still not grabbing you much-it happens, some characters click, some don't. Everyone in this fandom has their favorites/least favorites among those who've come and gone over the years. And there's still a ways to go in the season, too, so who knows, maybe she'll grow on you down the line, too.

  4. I think I'm still so accustomed to Blake (she'll always be my favourite) that I'm not quite a fan just yet. I know it seems hypocritical of me since I always want people to move on from Prentiss and embrace Blake...But it was a good episode for Kate's backstory!
I love that you thought about what I'd be thinking! :D I don't always live tweet since I watch the episodes 30 minutes late, but sometimes I do. Most of the time I type in caps lock. xD

  5. Ah, yeah, that'll do it, too. I'm glad to find someone else who likes Blake, it seems a lot of fans weren't big on her. And I wouldn't say it's hypocritical-you miss Blake, but you're not pestering everyone around you asking when she'll come back or demanding over and over that she come back. I've no problem with people missing a character they liked, and taking a while to warm to whatever character replaces them, if at all. If Reid left, for instance (god forbid), that would take some serious getting used to for me.
It's just the matter of accepting it when it's clear the ones who've left have officially moved on, is all. I love Emily, too, and I wouldn't complain if she ever came back, but I'm also fully aware that she's made her stance clear on that topic and that's that, too. But then again, I'm one who's liked all the women who've come and gone on the show over the years, so...*Shrugs*. Others feel differently and that's fine, too.
Yeah! I'm liking your reviews thus far, and it's fun to be able to make a mental list of things to talk about with other fans. Plus, your comment about Linkin Park lyrics last week had me curious, haha. I don't have a Twitter account, so any thoughts I have are saved until after the episode airs, too :p.

  6. Kate and Reid are so cute. And loved the episode by the way.

  7. I will wait until I re-watch later and then I vote I guess lol I mean it was a good episode but somewhat confusing and hard to follow.

Anyway, noting against Jennifer Love Hewitt, she seems like a lovely person but I'm not really feeling
Kate yet. I feel they're trying their best to make me feel Kate but not really working.. it might have something to do with my sec. fav. character leaving (Prentiss) and then ending up loving Blake also, whom also ended up leaving lol I guess.. it's hard and too early for me to accept someone new. I'm not hating I'm just gonna be waiting I hope I end up liking her.

  8. I really have a hard time to get used to Kate. I don't like the character and how it seems they try to make us appreciate her. It's not even about my fav leaving because I was never a Blake fan but at this point, I start to miss Blake (I would have never guessed that).

  9. I can't stop grinning.

  10. :D I'm Blake's biggest fan, I swear! I love Jeanne so much, it's not even funny. I'm seriously trying to accept Kate, though, but I do feel as though they're pushing her on us and /forcing/ us to like her, for lack of better word.
Did they play Robot Boy in the episode? Because I can't post my review until I know for sure! :P

  11. Aw, that's great. She needs more fans out there. I don't know a lot about Jeanne's career outside of this show, but from the interviews and whatnot I've seen with her, she seems nice.
I'm liking Kate, but I can see where her appearances might come off that way to some other viewers, yeah. It's gotta be a really tough balancing act with this show whenever they bring a new person in-they have to work them into the show and the team, but they also have to do it in a way that doesn't take away from the other characters we all already know and love and whatnot, too. Sometimes the transition's easy, sometimes it isn't, it all depends on the character and the actor and the writing. Hopefully with time it won't seem so jarring and forceful to you and other viewers who are still unsure about her.
Heh, I looked that up, as I assumed that was a Linkin Park song (I'm familiar with their hits, pretty much). I don't recall hearing anything Linkin Park in the episode (even if I didn't know the song, the singer's voice would be recognizable enough), so you should be good on that front if you're making any reference to it in your review :).

  12. Yeah, I just watched the episode again - I did not hear any Robot Boy. Whoever put it on the wiki was probably just another hopeful fan like me.

  13. Awww, way to tease, huh? I think they've played them on the show before, though, haven't they?
I've heard three bands I like on there in the past (Muse, Coldplay, and Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers). I want to know who decides the soundtracks for the episodes, 'cause they have some really good music taste.

    ReplyDelete
  14. DID YOU SAY, MUSE?
Hah! I referenced them in my review (which should be going up any minute now...I just need confirmation). Amazing, they're my favourite band! I like Coldplay too; don't remember them being on the show though. I don't really know Tom Petty too well. Wow, I can't believe how much we have in common! :D
I don't remember LP ever being on CM...the only one I know for sure was on CM was indeed Muse - on my favourite episode of all time, Broken! :P

  15. Hooray for fellow Muse fans! Yep, I adore that band so much-I shall be on the lookout for a reference to them in your review! Woo. Cool that you like Coldplay, too-they played "The Scientist" in one of the first season episodes. It was kind of faintly in the background, though, so it was a "blink and you'll miss it" sort of moment. And Tom Petty-ah, I became a fan of his stuff when I was a teenager. I don't know if his sort of music would be up your alley or not, but if you're curious, I'd certainly recommend him. His band's song "Here Comes My Girl" was played in that episode with the creepy duo who used that song to "communicate" with each other and went hunting for women to kidnap and murder, and one of the guys was married with a young daughter, and that family had moved from Florida to Georgia to get away from the accusations of the dad committing similar crimes in Florida. Charming use of a song by a band I like :p.
I'll go back and check to see if they've been on there. I love "Broken"-great episode as it is, really powerful topic matter, and then Muse at the end just makes it better. Oddly enough, the song's lyrics kinda work in the context of that episode.
My favorite episode is "Revelations". It's just so friggin' creepy and dark and well-acted (still weird to me to think that's Dawson of "Dawson's Creek" playing the unsub in that one) and intense. I feel for Reid so much in it.

    ReplyDelete
  16. :D I can't stop smiling! I love Muse so freakin' much. I went crazy when I first watched Broken - Rick Dunkle even retweeted me that day! :D
Oh, that episode was Soul Mates, right? Creepy.
Broken is so great - the acting, the writing, the music, the EVERYTHING! Not to mention, we got a Blake lecture! :P
I try and avoid Revelations at all costs. It was one of the first episodes I ever saw, and I saw it without seeing The Big Game before it the first time I watched it. Bad choice. It's a great episode with great profiling and acting, and yes James Van Der Beek is awesome - but it's horrible for Reid! ^_^

  17. Meant to reply to this earlier...awwwww, happy to make you happy :D! They're fantastic. I'd just started getting into the show when I saw "Broken", and hearing "Madness" at the end, I was like, "Well, if I didn't love this show enough before, I sure do now!" Hehe. He retweeted you? Cool! What'd the tweet say?
Yep, that's the one. Very creepy. That was a WEIRD duo. Just...ick.
Agreed. Very powerful message in it, a sympathetic unsub, an intense case...and yeah, I always liked the moments when we got to see Blake doing her teaching job!
Ahhhhh, yeah, definitely helps to see the first part-going into that episode blind without knowing what happened before would be very jarring indeed. Reid goes through serious hell in that episode for sure, so it does seem very strange to name that as a favorite episode. But when I first saw it, I was on the edge of my seat the whole time, and...I dunno, I can't not watch it whenever it airs. *Shrugs* It just grabs me every time. I certainly understand why others would shy away from the episode, though, no question.

  18. I think I tweeted: "WHAT? Madness is playing on Criminal Minds? Somebody hold me!" :P
I wish we got more Blake lectures...I wish we got a Blake lecture with Reid guest lecturing :/
I haven't seen Revelations in a long time. xD
