REVIEW

The case this week revolves around a body of a Chief Warrant Officer found in some water. Firstly, the team considered this a simple homicide, but when they started to dig around a little, things turned the opposite direction. I must admit it would not be interesting at all, if the episode simply revolved around finding a killer.

But something this show does very well is keep viewers interested. and that is what it does at its finest. Among the traditional NCIS quirkiness, NCIS: NOLA adds in some of it's own goodness, with very unique and interesting storylines. These type of storylines are superb, and I hope to see more of these going forward.

Also, in this episode we got to learn a little more about the medical examiner, Dr. Loretta Wade. We learnt that she has never been married and does have some serious issues trusting people. This could suggest that she has had a past experience with a relationship gone bad.

The winner in this episode however, is the duo of LaSalle and Brody, I must admit these two remind me of Kensi and Deeks on NCIS: LA. They have such a unique relationship, and with Brody putting LaSalle in his place at the end of the episode was a very welcome touch.

But these two definitely generated some good humor throughout the episode, with LaSalle putting on an act for Brody. Brody could see right through him I could tell, this episode was definitely one of the best character building episodes thus far.

Pride at the end of the episode was great, thinking that something's not right, he went with his instincts. Sure enough Helaine Morgan is taking off on a tropical holiday, with an extra 3 million dollars. She did try the old bribe trick, but we all know that was never going to work on Pride.

QUOTES

Pride: "If you're going to kill yourself, why transfer the money?"

Sebastian: "I grew up in the city. The only mailbox was in the lobby of our building. That would have been awkward."

Wade: "He's never been married, Dwayne. Any man his age who has never made a serious commitment, sends up red flags."

Brody: "Well a - I don't have anything to hide. And b - you should mind your own damned business."
LaSalle: "Well a - everyone has something to hide. And b - he offered it up. I didn't even have to ask. And c - since you don't seem to like to divulge, I was all ears."

  1. I love Hallowe'en based episodes. next week looks great.

I love how they fleshed out the characters of LaSalle and Brody in this episode. The humor was great. They are really working well as a team now and that teamwork gives us another good reason to check in every week.
