  1. Are these L+7 ratings considered when deciding whether a show gets canceled or not, or do they just look at the L+SD ratings?

  2. No, even low rated shows like RBS, Forever, and Reign get a sizable bump.

  3. Actually, I seem to remember reading that at least Fox and CBS are moving to put more focus on live+7 numbers, I think? I don't know if they're there yet, but I think there's more push from networks to evolve as time-shifted viewing continues to change viewing habits.

  4. Live+SD. Well, the C3, actually. But the L+SD are close enough to the C3 ratings that we don't always get that we use them. L+7 aren't really that useful.

  5. They want it to matter but the only numbers the advertiser care about are c3 and c7 which are almost never released because they are similar to the L+same day numbers. L+3/L+7 wont matter until the networks find a way to work ads into DVRs or invent something new because unless the ads are being watched the advertiser dosen´t care at all for those ad based networks it´s different for pay cable who get their revenue from subcribers amongst other.

  6. It doesn't matter where does Fox or CBS, or the King of Prussia put more focus on - what matters is that where do the advertisers, who are paying the bills of the networks put THEIR focus on? Until they can not be convinced that they will benefit from the DVR L+7 numbers, the channels' focus is nothing but a PR campaign. There are efforts of course and at some level the advertisers accepts that L+7 audience has an additional value.

Plus, there are only a handful of shows where the L+7 results are significantly different in the endgame than the L+SD. I mean if a show is (say) on the 50th place in the L+SD but the L+7 catapults it onto the 3rd, then yes, there it has a significance. If a show is on the 20th place in L+SD and becomes 19th in the L+7 - it doesn't matter.

  7. I know it doesn't count for much, but I'm glad AoS has signifcant DVR gains. At least that shows that it DOES have a decent-sized audience, but many of them don't watch live because of the competition.
