ReplyDeleteSince Mark Pedowitz tookover the CW tends to cancel/end 4-5 shows a year...well...HoD makes 1. I assume BATB will make 2. Leaving the newcomers and Reign fighting off the last 2-3 spots.
Really sad! I hoped they would reach out for syndication with a 5th 12 ep season.

I love the show, but i really love most of CW shows too. As Long as we get ending for all Storylines, i am fine with this :)

ReplyDeleteNo,they are only doing a final 10 episode 4rth season and that's it.No batch division.

ReplyDeleteHonestly not surprised with the shortened season. At least the CW gave them that. Many shows get cancelled without any chance to wrap.

With these ratings any fan should be thankful that they have been given 12 (!) episodes to wrap the storyline up. I do hope and think that it's the same for BatB

ReplyDeleteI never watched HoD but planned to begin with it, if they would've ended it aprubtly though I wouldn't even attempt to start. But with HoD getting a clear ending the "Complete Series" Boxset is already on my list.

ReplyDeleteYep, it's a WB distributed show, CBS only is a co-producer (like for every other CW show minus Arrow/Flash)

The only "real" CBS products are Beauty and the Beast, Jane the Virgin, The Messengers and to an extent Reign (wich is a co-production with Joyful Girl and Take5 but still is CBS distributed for the american market making it a CBS show here)

ReplyDeleteI agree that HoD/BatB are sadly most Likley cancellations,but Pedowitz hasn't confimed this is the last season either for either.I strongly Belive Reign,SPN,Arrow,Flash,VD will be renewed.However,VD cast contracts are up and rumors are Nina wants out or Ian wants out & ratings are getting low so it might be announced as the last season at Midseason like 90210 but I can also see a shortened seventh final season.Dont forget about The 100.-I personally think it'll go the way of Lux ,Carrie and get cancelled( shows in thier sophomore season with less than 44 episodes get cancelled.)It all depends on how Jane,Messengers ,IZombie do-if any more of the new shows besides Flash are hits,the less they'll cancel and less pilots they pick up.If I'm right and VD,SPN,Arrow,Flash,Reign are renewed,that leaves five spots for The 100,Jane,Messengers,IZombie,HoD,BatB to fight for

ReplyDeleteI really do enjoy HoD , I find it funny, witty, and just fun to watch, and am glad they gave it a wrap up season, at least that's why most fans are grateful for having the CW, it actually cares about the fans, and are not hasty to can its shows after a bad year, although HoD was on Monday, he had 0 chance from the get go.
ReplyDeleteI suspected this would be the last season but I think the time has come.Autumn Reeser I think was cast to give George a Zoe (Season 1) like love interest to tie up that part of his storyline, as soon as I heard about that as well as Rachel Bilson having a baby I was thinking this would be the last season, the CW tends to give shows 4-13 episodes as a swan song lately which I can appreciate more than cancellation with cliffhangers.
