  1. I was so happy with Reign and their 0,5. This is playing with emotions.
At least VD stayed at 0,9.

  2. Reign is DUNZO.Good for TVD!

    ReplyDelete
  3. Uff TVD- I hope that will be more.

  4. Okay, you all know that I'm the first person to shout "cancel Reign" but losing all hope over THIS one adjustment is a bit too much. Wait until episode 6. If the ratings don't get better until then the show might be relocated for mid-season. I would say that they will at least try to push out the episodes they have.

That being said you must forgive me for saying this: Reign should not have been renewed. I do hope that the writers see this though to at least give the show a proper ending and a DVD release-

now that I mention DVD releases, have any cancelled CW shows been released on DVD? Like Secret Circle? I looked and found nothing.
How come WB isn't using amazons MOD service?

Bones adjusted up! 1.7 that is the best so far this season a win for Fox I think

    ReplyDelete
  6. 0,4...0,5 doesen't really make a big difference. Don't loose your head over one adjustment. Remain hopeful but expect the worst. As always with TV shows on theCW,

And bear in mind: it's theCW. They love to pull risky renewals.

    ReplyDelete
  7. Bones in its entirety is a win for FOX, it's a steady performer with a loyal fanbase.
I don't watch the show anymore but tell me: they brought in a new agent this season, didn't they?
If so they're gearing up for a replacement cast in case Emily or David decide to leave

    ReplyDelete
  8. Noo :( I was so happy Reign went up :(

But they cancelled 4 shows last year, same amount year before ... so if they cancel HoD,BatB + 2 New Shows (iZombie/The Messengers/Jane) there is still a chance for Reign, i hope ... at least short , 10 episodes season with proper ending

    ReplyDelete
  9. I know it isn't a big difference or difference at all but I hoped it was trending up! Last week it gathered audience this week demo so it would be progress.
I didn't wrote it off, still think it could resurface and maybe have steady Friday ratings or something.

Bones will end if Emily or David leave......there is small chance of season 11 but Emily and David will have to sign a new contract

    ReplyDelete
  11. not with solid numbers and actors/characters to replace them for a season. It will probably end the following season if the new duo isn't convincing.
It's TV, just because actors leave there's no reason for cheap networks not to bring a show back

    ReplyDelete
  12. Reign will most Likley be renewed-it's closer to syndication than Jane,The 100,Flash,Messengers and CW has never cancelled a show at 44 episodes.Plus it's CBS owned so if BatB ends and Jane,Messengers fail Reign will be sole CBS show & renewed .CW loves Reign and it's steady in ratings,I suspect Jane will be at Reigns ratings in a couple weeks or sooner.CW cancels sophomore shows with less than 44 episodes,so The 100 will probably go too.

    ReplyDelete
  13. look, not trying to give you false hope here and I'm probably the last person to talk positive stuff about Reign but do yourself a favour and prepare for the worst. I do the same for show that do good, it's a very instable business.
And looking at Reigns trailers the show is still looking pretty expensive (at least the first 3 episodes I watched must have been pretty well budgeted).
If they can't cut corners there is no chance for this show to return.

Isn't it also airing on some canadian network though? Maybe they renew it without theCW because I just can't picture theCW going with that show for another year (although I've been wrong with such predictions myself...BatB being one of these...)

    ReplyDelete
  14. No.I read somewhere that 1.dvds of cancelled on cliffhanger shows don't sell weel & 2.Secret Circle didn't do well online so CW didn't release a dvd

    ReplyDelete
  15. Brandy...please. Don't spread false hope. I give you props for being so hopeful but trust me: one new CBS show WILL stick. Especially since CBS will be developing new pilots next season.

44 episodes is still far from syndication.
    As are 66 episodes.

And syndication numbers mean squat if the show isn't fit for syndication. Reign is serialized isn't it? There's a reason TVD hasn't been syndicated in the US yet: because you can't air a show with an ongoing plotline on TNT early mornings. Supernatural, Angel, Buffy...classic MOTW shows willbe out there.

Reign isn't just far away from syndication but even less attractive for it that Jane the Virgin is with its mere 13 episode run.

Reign won't really appease CBS anyway given it not being a CBS only production.

    ReplyDelete
  16. Makes sense but given amazons made on demand program (wich is basically a "you order, they fabricate" program wich Fox is now using for failed series to release for cheap).
They could do that and make a quick buck

    ReplyDelete
  17. The 100 will probably go too.- to early to speak like that, because second season even hasn't start & last season they have better rating than Reign + The 100 cheaper in production

    And yes I'm a fan of The 100 :)

    ReplyDelete
  18. It will be Reign as its closer to syndication.Look,if CW as going to cancel ashow with 0.4s in season, it would been Nikita, or HoD or BatB.Srealized shows are sold into syndication .If CW has to appease CBS,they'll renew Reign & one CBS show of Jane/Messengers/BatB or just renew Reign and pick up two CBS pilots.

    ReplyDelete
  19. Since The Secret Circle cancellation, I'm always prepared. I agree they invested a lot in Reign, promos, shootings, the clothes( I mean just the last episode everyone looked phenomenal and they changed a couple of times, especially Mary of course) and a pretty big cast. But I don't know we'll see how the show progresses we're still on episode 3.
Reign is airing on M3 in Canada, and on Wednesdays. I mean I know that probably doesn't affect the ratings alot but still I think the hardcore fans tune in earlier cause they want to know and they decide to stream or something. I'm probably wrong but again making false excuses to explain this break down.
I fairly got interested now in Mary's life and I want to see Francis die, she move back to Scotland, remarry, kill her hubby etc etc. But maybe summer is a possibility or something.

    ReplyDelete
  20. That dosent matter-CW always cancels sophomore shows with less than 44 episodes since they exsist to syndicate and that is too far away from syndication & take to long.Carrie and Life Unexpected are proof.

    ReplyDelete
  21. It's CW - hard to predict, but first I watch ratings for a few episodes and then I start make predictions ;)

    ReplyDelete
  22. Shocker, Supernatural is the #2 program on the CW again. Somewhere Dawn Ostroff rolls her eyes.

    ReplyDelete
  23. doubt it affects the ratings much, most casual viewers (who networks depend on) only casually tune in for such shows. If the interest isn't big enough there's no point in streaming. Also one needs to find the time.

As for the historical aspect..read Schillers Mary Stuart if you're interested in the more romanticized aspect of Marys life instead of trusting a television show that completely idealizes a character that in reality was far from "kind hearted". Reign is as far away from history as my butt is from Jupiter...maybe even further.

Doubt that summer is an option for theCW. They haven't put in scripted shows for summer in years (Backpackers was originally produced for theCWSeed and Seed (the show not the network) was a canadian production).

    ReplyDelete
  24. Yeah the Canada viewing probably isn't that important but again people will rather read what happened than see if they take the hour and watch it. But don't take this illusion from me. :-)
I read a lot of Mary after starting to watch the show and I looked forward to see it happen CW style. Maybe it'll happen maybe not. Let's wait out till spring!

    ReplyDelete
  25. renewal is certain but I'm not sure how long the cast will stick around

    ReplyDelete
  26. True we'll have to wait and see, we'll know by the end of 2014 how the future for Reign looks like.

    ReplyDelete
  27. I'm really interested to see how CW will handle their winter spring schedule. With BatB, HoD, iZombie and The Messengers waiting to step in it'll get pretty crowded
and Reign relocating seems like a done deal.

    ReplyDelete
  28. I guess they expected Jane/Originals to fail on monday nights and planned to can JTV. Now the situation just looks a lot different and there needs to be place for the other shows.

    ReplyDelete
  29. Actually, you just have listen to Pedowitz at TCAs and read CW press release and look at Wkipedia-those will somewhat show you international sales by either saying how many countries it's sold to or mention channels it'll air on overseas.Even though Nikita,HoD,BatB are modern day set, my point still stands is that hasn't cancelled a show with 44 episodes and exsist to syndicate its shows.Deadline,TVWise both gave BatB having 44 episodes a reason for renewal -as well as being profitable overseas and being CBS.Everyone said HoD would be cancelled last season syndication close or not it wasn't.Everyone said HoD would be cancelled in season one ,it wasn't.Eveyone said BatB would be cancelled last season,it wasn't.You can say "Reigns exspensive" all you want but have no proof of how much it costs to produces in relation to the other CW shows. To me Flash is exspensive but I don't know so I can't say,

    ReplyDelete
  30. I'm so not convinced in JTV success, that show will flat line so fast! The pilot was better than I thought but that is still awful. Jane really doesn't fit the current CW rooster and isn't compatible to relocate except maybe with HoD.

    ReplyDelete
  31. You should be aware that press releases and Pedowitz "online numbers" are usually used as sugar coating.
Your point with 44 episodes does indeed stand, still Reign is a unique case.

And no, pretty much everyone was aware that HoD would be renewed last season. HoD is theCWs second hand show, recieving used sets/costumes and cheap actors. There was no doubt about it being renewed.
Again: BatB exceeds my imagination though

As for the budget issue, I can. Not with a 70% accuracy but a blind idiot could tell you that this show is having some budget behind it. Telling me otherwise would imply that Reign gets its assets through...other sources. Wich wouldn't really be a flattering suggestion

Reigns ad pricing is still in the 35.000 - 40.000 ad range thus implying a heavy budget to keep up!

Hidden Palms was released in the Netherlands.
Melrose Place was released through Amazon's MOD service.

The others haven't been released, I wish they would though.

    ReplyDelete
  33. Yeah, they did. To replace Sweets, who, you must know by now, was killed.

    ReplyDelete
  34. Bone's is up in rating!!! Yeah!!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  35. David and Emily will come through in the end This is the best show on TV!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  36. I agree !! This is the best show on TV ! David and Emily are fantastic actors!!! So are the rest of the cast and crew!!!Bring on the rest of this season and many more!!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  37. they really should consider this, FOX has managed to make quite a big buck with releasing Almost Human and other failed one-season dramas via MOD
It's cheap and all you need to provide is the content. I know some smalltime indie producers that use it and it seems to work for them as well. The only time I heard from a friend that it wasn't resonating too well was a Warner Archieve release (but he admited to have screwed up the release strategy so I guess all possibilities are open).

I could imagine Secret Circle (the TVD/Kevin Williamson/Young Adult connection), Ringer (Sarah Michelle Gellar is still big enough), Hellcats (Ashley...what's her face...that chick from Suite Life...), Tomorrow People (sci-fi usually is a solid contender on the home video market) and Star-Crossed to make an impact.

I should really not try to pitch that though....I think they have my mail adress already blocked :P

    ReplyDelete
  38. Nikita got a deal with Netflix hence it got a 6 additional episode and HoD is ending this season.

    ReplyDelete
  39. I think The 100 will be fine. It's airing in the fall which is higher rated period than the spring.

    ReplyDelete
  40. Carrie's ratings sucked.
    The 100 is also a co-production.

    ReplyDelete
  41. Actually Reign makes 29,848 compared to The 100 's$27,725

    ReplyDelete
  42. I did.Last month when these were first released and And I wrote them down to repot and Reign makes more than The 100.Also,Carries ratings weren't good but it dosent change the fact CzbS is a syndication factory and CW exsist to syndicate its shows so shows with less than full seasons take tool LNG to syndicate while thier ratings drop.

    ReplyDelete
  43. HoD was doing better in its 3rd year and was cut to 10 episodes... it would make more sense to keep HoD which is cheap to produce to summer than keep Reign that's horrible in every aspect and is performing badly.

    ReplyDelete
  44. JTV is not doing that great... 0.6 on a premier night??? it will be cancelled just as fast as Emily Owens.... l mean come on! Jane is a venezuelan telenovela rip off.... how well can it perform??

    ReplyDelete
  45. yes... thank you... finaly someone who agrees with me on the matter of Reign's renewal... that never should have happened!! just make Francis die and make Marry leave France. End of story.
