About a Boy - Episode 2.01 - About a Vasectomy - A Baker's Dozen Non-Spoilery Teases

Welcome back About a Boy viewers, and welcome to this season’s round of…A Baker’s Dozen Non-Spoilery Teases! That’s right, folks, I have for you today, a few little tidbits about the upcoming premiere. Enjoy the teases and come back next week after the premiere for more discussion!

- The NYC in which Will lives is not the romanticized Nora Ephron version. Although Rob Reiner does make an appearance.
- There’s a traumatizing scene (for some spectators) involving an umbilical cord.
- Marcus has made some friends since Will’s been gone. Or at least that’s what he calls them.
- Someone’s accused of being an “arsonist firefighter,” which may be slightly accurate.
- Will runs into a problem with his “job.” Aka, the money that comes his way every month for something he did years ago.
- Fiona’s on the cusp of a new career as a doula, which comes in handy when someone finds herself quite unexpectedly expecting.
- The dumbwaiter door is back in action! And the awkward intrusions pick up right where they left off.
- Will’s quest in NYC, while noble, also points to a possible dissatisfaction with his life there.
- You can apparently fake a vasectomy, though it is not as effective as the real thing.
- “Just try to get past me, just try it. What I lack in strength I make up for in shrieking” -- someone’s got a future career as a guard all tied up.
- MARCUS’ VOICE.
- Will trains a telescope and a telephoto lens on some 8th graders from his bedroom. It’s only a little bit less creepy than it sounds.
- In order to fix his money problems, Will might have to make a big decision.

I hope these teases can help stave of the hunger for now!

About a Boy ’s second season kicks off on October 14, 9:30/8:30c on NBC.
