USA NETWORK’S ACCLAIMED SERIES ‘White Collar’ TO AIR SIXTH AND FINAL SEASON BEGINNING THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 6 AT 9/8C

International Spy Drama ‘Covert Affairs’ Follows With the Return of the Second Half of Season Five at 10/9C

New York, NY – September 12, 2014 — USA announced today that its hit original drama series White Collar will air its sixth and final season beginning Thursday, November 6 at 9/8c, followed by the return of the international espionage drama, Covert Affairs, at 10/9c. From Fox Television Studios and creator Jeff Eastin (GRACELAND), White Collar returns with EMMY® nominee Matt Bomer and Tim DeKay, as well as Tiffani Thiessen, Willie Garson, Sharif Atkins and Marsha Thomason.

“From its inception, White Collar captured a massive and loyal following, in large part due to the incredible on-screen chemistry between Matt and Tim, who deserve credit for one of the most brilliantly performed ‘bromances’ in all of television,” said Chris McCumber, President of USA Network. “The series also benefited from smart writing and an extraordinarily talented supporting cast, who helped it become a fan favorite crime drama for five straight years. This season will not disappoint, with an exciting and shocking ending that fans will never forget.”

The series focuses on the unlikely partnership between the very intelligent and charming con-artist Neal Caffrey (Bomer) and the hard-working and earnest FBI agent Peter Burke (DeKay). In exchange for his freedom, and on the condition that he wear an ankle bracelet at all times, Caffrey provides his expertise in thievery to help Burke and agents Clinton Jones (Atkins) and Diana Berrigan (Thomason) catch other elusive white collar criminals.

“Saying goodbye to WHITE COLLAR – and Neal and Peter – after six successful seasons is incredibly difficult, but I couldn’t be prouder of what our entire team has accomplished over the last six years,” said Eastin. “I’m grateful to FTVS and USA for giving the show a great home, and I can’t wait for fans to see the twists, surprises and phenomenal performances our final season has in store for them.”

The thrilling final season picks up on last season’s cliffhanger, when Caffrey has disappeared, sans ankle bracelet. Personal transitions and returning enemies complicate things when Caffrey and Agent Burke are pitted against the most sought-after network of criminals in the world, the Pink Panthers. With the help of Mozzie (Garson) and FBI agents, Barrigan and Jones, they will attempt to infiltrate and bring down the Infamous criminal ring. Guest stars for the final bow include Ross McCall, Gavin Lee, Bridget Regan, Toby Leonard Moore, Paloma Guzman, Michael Potts, Isaach de Bankole and Diahann Carroll.

A critical darling since it debuted, the Los Angeles Times praised the series, saying it was “Sparkling, snappy, bursting with energy and good clean heist fun…” while USA Today pointed out “everything about the show is a fun, shiny fantasy.” Boston Globe noted it was“…one of the best new shows of the season,” and the New York Post lauded “…it’s a whole lotta fun.” Over five seasons, WHITE COLLAR has been honored with four consecutive years of People’s Choice Award nominations (2011-2014) and a NAACP Image Award nomination for Diahann Carroll, among other accolades.

WHITE COLLAR was a ratings hit from the beginning, as one of the top new cable originals in 2009. Season five was among the top five most-watched basic cable series on Thursday nights in the first quarter of 2014 in P18-49 (1.62 million), P25-54 (1.76 million) and total viewers P2+ (4.46 million).

WHITE COLLAR was created and is executive produced by Jeff Eastin (Graceland) and comes from Fox Television Studios. Nick Thiel and Jeff King serve as executive producers. The series is filmed in New York City.

Universal Cable Production’s Covert Affairs stars Golden Globe® nominee Piper Perabo (“Looper”), Christopher Gorham (“Ugly Betty”), Peter Gallagher (“The O.C.”), Kari Matchett (“Invasion”), Hill Harper (“CSI: NY”) and new series regular, Nic Bishop (“Body Of Proof”).

In the globe-trotting drama series, Perabo stars as Annie Walker, a young CIA operative whose exceptional linguistic skills and killer instinct make her invaluable to the Agency.

After a whirlwind international exploration at the start of the season, Annie Walker (Perabo) finally has her sights set on the culprit behind the Chicago CIA facility bombing—Georgian diplomat Aleksandre Belenko (guest star Shawn Doyle). We resume the season with Annie and Ryan’s (Bishop) relationship in a delicate balance. Annie continues working outside the CIA as a private contractor but the task of bringing Belenko to justice will prove to be a challenge. She’ll have to throw out the Langley playbook as she begins her investigation into his motives—and more importantly—discovers who else is locked in his sights. Meanwhile, Auggie (Gorham) begins to uncover a mysterious connection between his past and Belenko’s targets, while Calder (Harper) recruits Sydney (guest star Nazneen Contractor) to infiltrate the Russian Embassy and Joan (Matchett) protects a secret that could destroy her career.

The series boasts one of the strongest DVR Playback lifts on cable, currently averaging 1.1 million in P18-49 viewers L7 -- +145% over Live+Same, 1.4 million in P25-54 -- +142%, and 3.6 million total viewers -- +117%.

Covert Affairs was created, written and executive produced by Matt Corman and Chris Ord, and is executive produced by Doug Liman (Suits, the “Bourne” trilogy, “Mr. and Mrs. Smith”), David Bartis (Suits, “The O.C.”) and Gene Klein (Suits) through Hypnotic. Stephen Kay (“Sons Of Anarchy”), Sean Ryerson (“Bait,” “Beyond Rangoon”), Stephen Hootstein (“What About Brian”) and Henry Alonso Myers (“Ugly Betty,” “Chuck”) also serve as executive producers. The series shoots in Toronto.

  3. shocking ending that fans will never forget

Yeah, that’s not always a good thing. *cough* HIMYM *cough*

  4. So no Sara on the Final Season? That's a bummer... They always promised they will revisit her sister's mistery.

  5. I have still hope that Sara will return... She's such a great character :D

  6. bridget regan's back but not sara damn it, neal and her were awesome, i want them to have little connie and conrad baton wielding little con children

  7. Why do you think that?

  8. I'm not ready to say goodbye to WC :(

  9. Because they said "shocking ending" and that's the first place my mind went to.

    ReplyDelete
  10. I really hope that won't happen it will be worse than HIMYM :(

  11. Hell yeah to Bridget being back - I'm definitely curious to see what they have planned for Rebecca/Rachel's return, she was such a fantastic villain.

  12. I'm not sure any finale could be worse than HIMYM's.

  13. If they killed Neal it would be just as bad.

If they do that I go berserk.

  15. On the new USA network that is cancelling White Collar, definitely. But since this is the last of the Blue Skies Network, they wouldn't dare. Neal will help catch these notorious criminals and be rewarded with his freedom in the end.

I'm not so sure I want a shocking ending. This series was always so much fun and I would like the final season to give us some closure. I like the characters and I want them to get their happy ending. It's bad enough that the series IS ending this soon.

    Talk about a nightmare... XD

  18. I am really glad to see she will be part of it as well. She was the best guest female character since Alex. I hope they make her smart again because I felt let down by how easily they caught her.

My first thought was that they were going to disregard all the character's development, turning him into season 1 Neal again. But I don't think they would do that... at least, I hope they wouldn't.

  20. As goes White Collar, so goes the Blue Skies Network. Such a shame. I know they are going for edgier fare, but I liked USA Network a whole lot better then than now. It was a great oasis in a TV landscape littered with antiheroes and shows where I can't root for anyone. Now it's just second-rate same old stuff to me. I am glad that they are wrapping White Collar up and a big thank you to all the cast and crew that have entertained me for so long.

  21. I'll be sad to see this go, but I hope they give us a thrilling final 6 episodes. Nikita did wonders with only 6 episodes in its final season. But I can't believe we have to put up with Bridget Regan's character (whose name I never cared to remember), I absolutely hated her character and she dragged the season down.

You know it is a question worth asking: Does Neal deserve to be free? And for that matter does Burke deserve the recognition even though he's allowed Neal to skate on a few laws?

    ReplyDelete
  23. So glad Bridget Regan is coming back, she made S5 very EXCITING!! Wish S6 had more episodes and wish USA wasn't bringing it back in the Fall with all the new shows and football on CBS. The ratings they had in Winter of 2014 were fantastic... I would still like high ratings as they take their final bows... Thanks FoxTVStudios, for these 6 episodes you offered to pay for so the show could end properly.

WELL DONE CAST OF WHITE COLLAR, you have entertained us well. You have been great to your fans. We will truly miss this GEM of a Show.. Thanks to all the Cast/ Writers/ Crew/Producers/Directors and all who have Guested on the show. It was great the way NYC was it's own character, loved those beautiful NYC views..Love the Bromance, Neal&Peter hugs, Mozzie-isms, Jones' never waivering ways, Diana's bada$$ ways. Elizabeth&Peter's refreshing loving marriage, June's acceptance of Neal&Mozzie and the fun she has with them, Also Love the hats, Lolana, Theo and on and on and on. Great Show!!!

  24. I am glad they showed that Neal and Peter are smarter.. like Peter says the criminals always make a mistake. I loved that character her addition brought a lot of life into S5. I would have loved more of Alex too throughout the series run.. Oh well, at least we will get an ending and one that Matt pitched to them. I know it will be good.

    ReplyDelete
  25. Wow, most people loved her character and storyline.. writers did a good job with that. Sorry you didn't like it, but to each their own I guess. Enjoy S6.

    ReplyDelete
  26. Really? I remember a lot of negativity towards her character and how obvious it was she was bad last season. Spoilertv was the only place I saw any positive comments, and those were few. But like you said, to each their own. Still looking forward to the final season.

    ReplyDelete
  27. Truly, I saw many more positive comments than negative ones. I read IMDB board, TVLine, AvClub, TVguide etc.. Bridget Regan played a complex role. IMO she did great, kudos to the acting and writing of last season. Great mythology

    ReplyDelete
  28. Interesting that we both saw more of one kind of comment, I'm thinking we noticed the comments that were more inline with how we felt. I'd say that's likely what happened with me. I'm glad you enjoyed her and her character, but I thought she dragged the season down and the twist with her was predictable from the first time she appeared on screen. But that's beside the point, the most import part of White Collar is the relationship between Peter and Neal, which I hope gets to end on good terms in the end.

    ReplyDelete
  29. Isn't Royal Pains still around, it's really blue skies.

    ReplyDelete
  30. The only shocking ending i'm seeing is Kate is alive and she returns to him with their child.

    ReplyDelete
  31. They also thought they would be given 13 eps in their final season. Might not be their fault. I would prefer a tight written final season focusing on the main characters, than too many threads to handle, especially not related to the main four.

    ReplyDelete
  32. I haven't been around for S5, but did they hate Rachel because she was badly written or because she got between Neal and Sara, however imaginary their relationship was at that point? I've seen the same crap in Teen Wolf this season, tinhatters hating on a female character just because she got between two people who weren't even together.

    ReplyDelete
  33. That could be a reason for a couple people that they hated Rachel because she got between Neal and Sara, but certainly not for everyone. I can't speak for everyone else, but for me, she was poorly written, boring, and the romance between her and Neal felt incredibly forced. Plus, the whole twist with her character could be seen from the moment she was introduced, and it did nothing to improve her character.

    ReplyDelete
  34. I can't wait for season 6. I'm gonna Neal miss so much...

    ReplyDelete
  35. noooooo I can't wait for it but I don't want it to end!!!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  36. Rush is the Royal Pains alternative. I expect the cancellation notice of Royal Pains any day now. Although I am interested in Dig and I like Graceland, nothing much distinguishes USA Network from the others anymore.

    ReplyDelete
  37. I like Smart Neal and Peter, don't get me wrong. However I don't think it made them look smarter to make Rebecca uncharacteristically dumb. It just made her a plot device. I would have much rather them outwit her when she was a worthy character instead of having to dumb down her character so they could triumph. That makes everyone look bad.

    ReplyDelete
  38. USA network is a disappointment after years of being the go to Cable network. I have read so many comments on Facebook, that people can't even keep the channel on anymore during the day or in prime time now because of the profanity and adult scenes they show during commericials in order to promote their new shows.. Sad. I like Graceland too, but once it's done, nothing much interests me.. I know Matt Nix will have a new show called Complications, I may have to check that out when it comes out b/c Beth Risgraf from Leverage is in that.. So sad for the ending of White Collar and the disrespect they got from the Network... there must be much more to that story than we know, b/c USA really didn't care if the show was even ended properly and Fox had to fight to get those last 6 eps.

    ReplyDelete
  39. How do you think they dumbed her down? She ran out of options when they were at the park and the helicopter left her, up to that point she outwitted them, with Mozzie, with telling them she'd meet them at the park when Neal called her about the diamond, and then locking them up, imo she did everything right to be that smart villain..Glad she didn't jump in the water, because we need to see her in S6. I can't wait, she is in first episode from what I read.

    ReplyDelete
  40. Yes, and Yes, LOL Just because they are just so darn ADORABLE.. Love the Bromance..

    ReplyDelete
  41. I so agree...I didn't dare to hope that we would see her again, and I am sooooo excited about the prospect. I don't think that they dumped Rachel down...her final scene, was imho one of the best moments of the last season. I wonder if she will team up with Neal and Peter this time around.
It's too bad that Alex isn't on the list, but she got such a nice farewell I can live with it...hopefully she has a good time, wherever she enjoys her riches.
Either way, so far it sounds like we are in for a treat. I mean, Diana is still around, El is still around, June will turn up - I hope they'll do a finale which rivals the one of Leverage.
I'll miss USA Network when this is over, though. I'll miss "Blue Sky TV". Well, I guess Suits is still around, but that show only works if I binge watch it, and it is hardly a replacement for the fun USA used to bring me on my screen. It's too bad, they had something special, and now they are doing what everyone else does, just cheaper.

    ReplyDelete
  42. I didn't see many negative comments concerning her, and those I did see were either from people I knew shipped Neal/Sara (and I was firmly in the "can't we get rid of Sara?" half of the fandom) or ended in a "I want Sara back". But it was always my impression that the Sara fans were just way louder than the people who wanted Neal either as a free agent, with someone new or (in a few cases) back with Alex.
Rebecca got a lot of positive critic, and when she turned into Rebecca, she got even more fans. Some consider her not just Neal's most interesting love interest, but also the best villain of the show (which is a little bit hyperbole, but she certainly was the best part of season 5).

    ReplyDelete
  43. There was really not much hate towards Rebecca/Rachel, most people adored her, especially towards the end. But yes, there were indeed some Shippers who kept whining that they wanted Sara back last season. But I guess half of the fandom (well, the fans still around) was just glad to be rid of Sara, she was a polarizing character from the get go, not because of any shipping, but because half of the fandom couldn't stand her.

    ReplyDelete
  44. I just noticed...I was so focussed on Rachel, that I overlooked another important name on the

    ReplyDelete
  45. Nah...I want him officially getting his freedom, but the show leaving it open which will be his path.

    ReplyDelete
  46. I'm glad that people enjoyed her, but I just can't bring myself to. I (and the people I watch the show with) called that she was going to be bad from the first time she was on screen, so until that reveal, her character was just painful to watch and felt extremely forced. Then when she was revealed to be the big bad, she came out with a whimper and left with a whimper. For me, she was by far the worst villain the show has had. That's just how I feel about her.

    ReplyDelete
  47. Oh, I had her pegged from the get go too, but I was more sad that the relationship they showed wouldn't be real, because she had such a nice chemistry with Neal and they did more cuddling in bed instead of awkward mauling in the archive. But when it was revealed, they nevertheless had some surprised in store...I never ever expected her to shot Hagen point blank. I knew he was bad news, but I didn't imagine how bad.

    ReplyDelete
  48. It's interesting how people have such a different view of the same thing. You saw that Neal and Rebecca had a lot of chemistry, while I was cringing every time they were together because of the lack of chemistry. And I guessed if she was going to be bad she was also going to be the one who killed Hagen, so that wasn't much of a surprise.

At any rate, I will say she wasn't my least favorite part of the series, that honor goes to the forced tension between Neal and Peter in Season 4 a couple episodes before the midseason finale I think it was. And really all the times they feel they need to have tension between them, even though its tired at this point. Here's hoping the most important relationship, Neal and Peter, gets some better stories for the final run.

    ReplyDelete
  49. I meant that I didn't predict the Shooting of Hagen...once it happened, she was the obvious culprit.

    ReplyDelete
  50. Ah, sorry, I misunderstood what you meant. I didn't predict the shooting of Hagen either, I thought something might happen to him, but definitely not that early into the season.
