    Maybe Elijah will just peace-out Rebekah-style and finally get a life of his own. I doubt it - but I really don't like Elijah on TO (not since they turned him into nothing but a prop for Hayley). I liked TVD Elijah, but he no longer exists.

    Hayley will never be an Original or a Mikaelson. A major criteria for being a Mikaelson is to be a child of Mikael - Hayley is not and never will be. Having a child with someone does not make you part of the family - it makes her Klaus' baby mama and nothing more.

    If Elijah can get over Hayley and go back to his old characterization I would be thrilled, but as of right now I just don't care about Elijah at all - him being on the show does nothing for me since he has no storylines or plots - he's just there.

    Interesting! Wonder what these are really up to! Surely there out for blood and they're probably looking for Francesca too but they'll find Oliver instead...
    Hopefully the werewolf SL will introduce Klaus's family history on his biological father's side.
    On another note, anyone else feeling like their being watched looking at this picture? Or maybe I'm just being oversensitive but that kinda makes me uncomfortable lol!

    i find that strange though they first said the last name mikaelson in season 3 of vampire diaries but then marcel in the pilot said klaus mikaelson so did they always have the last name or did they create it so they could appear normal to humans

    Agreed! Elijah was a badazz! I miss that element of his character....remember when he was trying to kill Klaus.....I like the brothers together...but I don't like that he is no longer ruthless....in the beginning he was just as ruthless as Klaus. As soon as Klaus unlocked the werewolf gene....Elijah became more do-gooder!

    Klaus is probably teaching her how to hunt or something along those lines. Seems suspect for sure. I feel like the promo pics are not in order.....I figure that Klaus was being teacher and they came upon something happening.

    What does it matter which couple anyone likes....? So long as people are interested in the show....? Its kinda like taunting people for no reason....? It's all good! I like both couples together for different reasons....I am not afraid to say it. I wish there were more viable options.

    He did have the whole Celeste storyline....

    By the way...I found that storyline hilarical, as in the TVD universe, he was fated to be with Katherine.....then in the TO universe they changed it so that he had other loves....which I guess is plausible....just weird, given the back story they had already given him. Writers of the show need to be a bit more consistent.

    It's always been their surname - it's a patronymic surname.

    The Norse surnames were the name of the father+son. So Elijah's name is Elijah Mikaleson (Elijah - son of Mikael). Rebekah's surname should technically be Mikaeldotter (daughter of Mikael).

    That is how the Norse surnames worked (they have switched over to family names now). The Originals are supposed to be Vikings, so that is the naming system they would have used back then.

    They didn't really let that happen though. They killed off Celeste way too early instead of letting things play out between her and Elijah and actually exploring that relationship. They should have kept Celeste around until the end of the season at least and let that be Elijah's main relationship on the show instead of Hayley.

    The whole doppelganger universe started end of season 4 all of season 5, where the writers changed things so suit their own ends. Take a look back at the epis when Elijah first came to the show.....he was in love with Katherine.

    The Original siblings invented the surname Mikaelson after their father Mikael. Not a big deal. The real tie is the familial bond whether by blood (the siblings) / birth (Hope) / adoption (Marcel) / relation (Hayley) / extension (Davina) / alliance (Camille) / etc. Family is of your own choosing.

    Didn't they say Elijah was into a previous doppelganger in Season 3? One named Tatia. I think Elijah just sort of transferred his feelings for Tatia onto Katherine in the same way Damon transferred his feelings for Katherine onto Elena.
