  1. Based on the promo and this spoiler, I'm 98% certain that the team breaks Ward out of prison because they need his help with something (but we can't figure out what, because we've been debating this for days).

  2. So Caroline will pine ove Stefan for most of the season, but till he realizs what's going on I assume she will hook up with someone else(Enzo) so Stefan will need to step up. Overall I look forward to Caroline trying to make Stefan see her, should be funny.

  3. Not sure I like the TVD spoilers because I really hate the fact they'll only use Caroline as a love-interest.... Again. And even though I'm all for some Steroline action (that's probably why it rubbed me the wrong way?), I'd like it not to be a hindrance for their character development! Hopefully they'll give her/them a better SL than this.

  4. TVD: They just killed my Steroline dreams. Omg they f*cked it up. I know exactly what that means, it means Caroline will stop denying it, then she'll tell Stefan, but Stefan won't feel the same way (or so he thinks), then she'll back up, then he'll feel guilty, then he'll realize he does have feelings for her, then they'll give it a go, then he'll be all, I can't do this, and blah blah blah, then...ughhhhhh!!! They f*cked it up already. Way to go writers. One of the best couple/non couple relationships on the show, and you screwed it up. Oh well, I still ship it. For better or worse.

  6. Oh and i got so annoyed with that TVD info i forgot to omment on my other shows. lol

TBBT: seriously no suprise there. But they need to get crackin before this series is over. And don't save it for the series finale either!

Arrow: Really can't wait to meet Mama Smoak!!! And i wanted her to be introduced before Felicity's father anyway. Sooo that works in my favor. haha

  7. TVD: I hate the very idea of romantic Steroline and I hate how they have to devolve Caroline back to her Season 1-self for it. She already got with Matt (who was still not over Elena) and their relationship didn't work out at all and Caroline was constantly insecure about being the back-up choice. For Stefan it will always be about Elena so it would be the same thing all over again - Caroline would always be second best to Elena.

  8. Mixed feelings about the TVD info. On one hand, I'm glad to see a show do something different besides a typical triangle or mutual love interest story. On the other hand, TVD still refuses to give Caroline a storyline that doesn't revolve around a relationship and that annoys the hell out of me.

  9. Repeating a mistake doesn't mean you've devolved as a character.

  10. It feels like it to me. I thought Caroline had grown a lot since Season 1 - but now she's totally regressing back to that point.

    ReplyDelete
  11. So when Caroline developed feelings for the pretty lunatic Klaus (end of S4, beginning of S5) just like she fell for Damon in S1 that wasn't a regression, it was growth?

"Steroline" isn't regressing Caroline. She's just repeating mistakes just like every other character on this show. People do that. Hell, Stefan had his own little monologue about not letting the past repeat itself back in S4. It's a common recurring theme on this show.

  12. It was totally different for me - Damon compelled Caroline and used and abused her. Caroline never had consent and Damon never cared about her. None of that was true of Klaus - he wasn't using her or compelling her to do his bidding.

With Stefan - Caroline was interested in him at first (going back the pilot episode) but Stefan shot her down and told her "you and me - it's never going to happen". Caroline also spent years talking about how Elena was Stefan's epic love and so forth so she has known for a long time that Stefan is not into her.

  13. Caroline still craved Damon's approval in the face of her being treated like garbage. That wasn't compulsion. That was a lack of self-esteem. By the same token, Caroline still slept with Klaus after he attempted to murder her twice. It's absolutely a similar mistake. That being said...

You are correct in that Caroline has made plenty of progress as a character since S1. I'd even say she's probably made the most progress of all the show's original characters. If that awful business with Klaus didn't derail her character progression, having feelings for Stefan sure as hell won't.

  14. AoS: Nothing new after what was in the promo. We already know that Director Coulson will bring SHIELD to a covert place, literally and figuratively speaking. The question is what will become of Nick Fury, if we see him again before the end of the season. When he finally resurfaces, which will probably be in a movie, will he be a sergeant or a colonel?

There's nothing similar about those two situations. The first one involves someone with low self-esteem being flirted with, accepting, and then being compelled and abused. The second one had her in a clear and unmistakable position of power when she decided to sleep with Klaus.

This new thing; however, seems like pointless drama in a relationship that was great solely because it wasn't dramatic.

  16. The power dynamic has no relevance. It's about her choices. Caroline chose to involve herself with the same type of horrible person who treated her like garbage before. She repeated a mistake.

  17. Is there a particular reason why, when someone asks for a scoop about a female character, the answer has to revolve around who she's dating/hooking up with/pining for/etc? Can't Caroline Forbes have a life or a storyline of her own, not as a love interest?

  18. Fury has a small role in Age of Ultron but I do hope he pops up in S2 of AOS and if not then S3!

    ReplyDelete
  19. Probably catering to the TVline readers which judging from the majority of comment sections over there are very much focussed on ships and who is dating who.

    ReplyDelete
  20. He probably has Hydra info they need for whatever reason. Its pretty much how I see his role for S2, as the asset none of them want to use and definitely don't trust but he knows important things.

  21. I really like that idea because it means we get the best of both worlds, Ward still works/interacts with the team sometimes, but is kept grey/ambiguous and isn't trusted by any of them or redeemed (at least any time soon). But I hope he doesn't get out of prison too quickly, not permanently anyway... maybe he can go on missions with them here and there when they need him, and then go back to incarceration. It just wouldn't sit well with me if he got a get-out-of-jail (quite literally in this case) free card because they needed him. And if they plan on redeeming him, an idea I'm still iffy about, he definitely has to pay for his crimes first.

    ReplyDelete
  22. I also really like this idea. I want him redeemed but I want it to take a long time and to be hard for him and for the team. A well done redemption storyline would be amazing.

I have such high hopes for this show this season. Honestly, haters can hate but I am anticipating it way more now than I was a year ago when it was everything people talked about!

  23. As long as Stefan stays the hell away from Elena I can watch. Sure SC gonna have some drama but I can take it. Pretty sure there will be funny moments too.

    ReplyDelete
  24. I love this idea! And yes, he needs to pay for his crimes first but he also needs therapy too (lifelong abuse).

    ReplyDelete
  25. Normally, criminals can get therapy in prison as part of the effort to rehabilitate them; however, I'm not even sure what kind of prison Ward is in. The Fridge is history and SHIELD doesn't really exist anymore, so I don't see how they can hold onto prisoners. Is he being held by the U.S. military or something? It seemed like soldiers were taking him away in the end of S1.

    ReplyDelete
  26. Yeah, based on the promo, seems like he's in a cell with padded walls? I just need someone on the team - or even in the prison - to learn that Garrett kidnapped Ward and emotionally and physically abused for him over a decade.

    ReplyDelete
  27. You're preaching to the choir. Caroline hasn't had a storyline of her own that wasn't guy-related since season two when she was dealing with her mother finding out she was a vampire.

    ReplyDelete
  28. "The power dynamic has no relevance. It's about her choices."

Power constrains choices, therefore the power dynamic is relevant. QED.

    ReplyDelete
  29. Since Caroline's feelings weren't being constrained by anything or anyone, the point still stands.

    ReplyDelete
  30. Haha, no, it really doesn't. It never stood up in the first place. The fact that she made her choice from a position of power and controlled all of its ramifications makes it completely incomparable to what happened with her previously.

    ReplyDelete
  31. Be contradictory all you want but it does. She knew how similar Klaus was to Damon and how abusive he was and that he tried to murder her twice. In spite of all that, she still got involved with him anyway. She chose to involve herself with the same kind of monster that already abused her before. Absolutely it's comparable.
