  1. well, it's a rather short show with 10-13 episodes a season, they will obviously use it in timeslots that recently got free.

Don't despair Hannibal fans: the more time they have the more they can work on getting a season 4 renewal without the ratings influencing the networks decision and letting the work speak for itself

  2. Pretty much as expected. At least it gives me something to look forward to next year.

  3. Well this certainly sucks! Too long of a wait!

  4. I will hate the wait but maybe starting late will help the show's ratings.

  5. Hey, you can't rush quality.

  6. S1 started April time and I was surprised when S2 came back in February this year so later doesn't bother me too much.

  7. Is this some kind of February 2014 curse? Star-Crossed and Mind Games cancelled (I know they're awful, but still), My Mad Fat Diary in limbo, Hannibal and Vikings pushed for summer 2015.

  8. I imagine this is down to Gillian Anderson's availability, as she is busy doing Streetcar in London at the moment. I'm happy to wait a little longer if it means more Bedelia screen time!

  9. So we have to wait until April/May to know who lives and who diez? That's just cruel!!!

  10. NOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!

  11. I'm ok with this. It gives them more time to write a coherent, tight season, I have plenty of shows to watch during the Fall and in the Summer there's less competition and ratings aren't as big a deal.

  12. Waiting nearly 11 months to resolve that cliffhanger? This is most certainly NOT my design!

But I'll be happy to have Hannibal back whenever it premieres. If airing in the late spring and early summer is what it takes to ensure that Hannibal will get to run for 6 seasons on NBC and fulfill Bryan Fuller's vision for the series, then so be it.

Besides, everyone's already been bleeding out on Hannibal's kitchen floor for months anyway. What's a few months more? :)

  13. They pushed Viking???! Nooooo. S3 was supposed to premiere in January.

  15. What bout Lawrence Fishburne and his commitment to Black-ish?

  16. probably, let's hope that NBC is smart though and remembers the worth this show has for them.

They canned a lot of good shows lately so I really don't want to see Hannibal among them. I might have given up watching after season 1 (only because this show is better binged, waiting for season 2 on bluray) but this show is certainly one of NBCs most prestigeous shows

  17. This was expected I think. I just wish Universal would do something about their contract with Amazon having streaming rights, could you imagine if this was on Netflix and Hulu as well, both seasons leading up to the premiere. I tell so many people about this show and they're interested but none are gonna pay $100 for Prime. Ah well maybe this will get a fourth season no matter what.

  18. Well that sucks, but I jope it's for the better

  19. I wonder if that means that Constantine could possibly get more then 13 episodes if it does well. I'm not thinking 22 eps(although they could probably do that.) But 16-18 would be pretty damn cool. I'm ok with waiting until late spring though. It's kinda what I expected anyway.

  20. This decision is completely Bryan's choice: he said that it felt during the production of season 2 that the writers got less time than in season 1 to break the plot and rewrite episodes and the filming team was often catching up with them.

So for season 3, the writers team has started working in june (instead of july), filming was delayed too and will start 20th october (instead of september).

Not sure if it helped to maintain an advance for the writers because based on their tweets, they only have finished to write 5 episodes so far but at least we can hope to have better written episodes.

Also Bryan has confirmed that they are filming Hannibal and Bedelia on the run in Europe, if possible in Italy.

  21. I think it's a good idea. Hannibal won't have much of a competition for the latter season (if it premieres in April) and then the ratings would be okay if they stay the same as last season.

If it premieres in February with more competition, NBC probably wouldn't want these low ratings during the regular season.

  22. Not too big of a surprise and I'd rather have them take the time they need!

    It’s probably for the best
and not that much of a surprise.
