  1. Even though his hips look a bit retarded, good poster! It doesn't seem overcrowded. Like the line! Hopefully all cast members will get an individual poster. They deserve it

  2. ...Why is the city still burning? Isn't this supposed to be 5 months after Slade?

    ReplyDelete
  3. This one is so much better than the other.

    ReplyDelete
  4. IT's almost exactly the same. The background is exactly the same.

    ReplyDelete
  5. OMG!! How dare they? We, the fans demanded a poster comprising of nothing but the THE TRIO, THE TRINITY, THE CORE of Team Arrow and this shitty poster is what we get? - it totally ignores the main female character and the only person of color on Team Arrow.

The show has grown, Oliver is no longer a one man army then why is the CW trolling us? Or is it our fault that we couldn't elucidate better what the the core of Arrow really is? Or is there a difference between what the Network believes is the core of the show and what we believe is the core? Will we ever get a poster that is in line with what we, the fans want?

  6. yeah but it's lacking Diggle, Roy, Laurel, Felicity, Thea, Merlyn and Lance.

At least it left out every non super-main out, wich in my opinion is a lot more fair than leaving a selective few out, pushing a selct few to the forefront despite not deserving it and creating a fan war that forced Stephen Amell to actually defend Katie Cassidy from a bunch of sara fans, Olicity shippers, Laurel dislikers and what not.

He might never be my favourite actor in terms of acting (nothing personal really, I just take acting super serious) but he certainly deserves my respect for standing against this madness!

    ReplyDelete
  7. Bit on the nose isn't it?
Yes, we know Oliver/ Arrow walks a lonely road and often leaves destruction in his wake as he attempts to save the city.....

Plus, It is basically the same as the group poster with Arrow having taking one extra step forward and the rest of the group erased... Sigh.

    ReplyDelete
  8. you are but I doubt many will get it, I've learned that arguing with reason doesen't help. Neither does sarcasm.

    When I'm sarcastic I'm a jerk
    When I`m reasonable I'm biased.

I get that people love Felicity but her overshadowing other characters despite her late entry in the series does rub me the wrong way.

It did not motivate me to cut her out of the image due to my disaproval with the poster, I didn't add Merlyn, I didn't push Felicity away and believe me...I could have. But I'm NOT a jerk

    ReplyDelete
  9. exactly the intention.

Leave out all the others that inevitably will cause more "But Laurel shouldn't stand as close to Oliver as Felicity does" comments to arise and I'm fine.

Oliver will never be my favourite Arrow character (that spot goes to his archnemisis) but I'm okay with this, a lot more than..leaving out a few and pushing others

  10. I'm honestly tired of all the hate from all sides. This week literally made me embarrassed to be a part of the arrow fandom.

I mean, it's just a poster! Remaking the poster is childish.

    ReplyDelete
  11. Yeah i see he has lost a lot of weight saving Starling City!
The background looks like was left after the season finale, right?

    ReplyDelete
  12. facebook got me into a weird mood yesterday,

I know I'm enthusiastic about this show but I didn't even dare to comment (not only because I would out myself as a TV fanatic but also because there was no arguing for Laurel being there from any side).

what is Oliver bow.........and gosh the fan base is divided.....

    ReplyDelete
  14. I feel for U as a I see how much this bothers you. With the evolution of social network the shippers got a huge voice and it can be quite annoying, overall not only concernig Arrow. I mean it's a fing poster and of course it will look more coherant with 2 girls standing beside Oliver than girl guy. As simple as that.

    ReplyDelete
  15. No, it's Oliver who's responsible for the current destruction. As we can so easily and absolutely confirm from the poster, without Felicity and Diggle at his immediate side (standing as close as humanly possible), Oliver has now become Darth Arrow. You can even see his spaceship following behind him.

@Ron - this is not directed at you. I am just having some fun. Please don't take any offense

    ReplyDelete
  16. Honestly, looking at that fanmade poster, I think aesthetically the other poster was nicer and balanced because of the boy-girl-boy-girl configuration. While I was still disappointed in it (and thought the flash poster was a lot better), it's just ridiculous to bitch about it on SAs facebook page.

    ReplyDelete
  17. I am so glad I don't visit Facebook often and stay faraway from twitter. By the time I went to facebook SA had already deleted this thread. I am happy in the spoiler tv world. At least here people know how to respectfully communicate without name calling and almost all of the discussions ends up in a civilized way.

EPs and writers need to distance themselves from fans a little bit. That's the only way I can see this madness contained.

    ReplyDelete
  18. People seem to think that Stephen is on 'their' side because he loves to share fan-art.
And most fan art does include Felicity and Diggle, the decision to include them on a drawn image was made by fans and that's perfectly justified.
But the moment you maliciously cut someone out, move them away to appease your shipper interest or WHATEVER is so disrespectful towards the actor you bitchslap with that.
It really isn't about the shipping anymore...I just feel terrible for Katie Cassidy at this point.

Imagine you're putting real work into giving people these hours of content, even starve yourself down to fit a storyline....and people give you such sh*t?
Forget about Laurel as a character for a second...

Just imagine you being cut out from a workplace image just because someone thinks you shouldn't be next to some person.

I know I expect too much from some fans on a human level but this is just hurtful

    ReplyDelete
  19. This hiatus is making people crazy!

    ReplyDelete
  20. I agree!

This is the only way I can see EVERYONE being satisfyed in some way.

A single Roy poster, a single Oliver poster, a single Felicity poster and so on and so on.
People can make their own fanart of that then

    ReplyDelete
  21. it made me crazy already but I have to agree...at this point I'm just sad....and kind of disgusted

    ReplyDelete
  22. People is crazy tbh. is it really a problem the people that are portrayed on the posters? i have seen a lot of complaints about where people are standing (yeah i believe the posters are horrible phtoshoped) but i dont have a problem with the people that are in it.
The last one was the main cast, the order doesnt affect the product but somehow people got upset over Laurel being at Olivers' side. and Im like WTH is wrong with that?

    ReplyDelete
  23. EPs and writers need to distance themselves from fans a little bit. That's the only way I can see this madness contained.

    This!
Showrunners need to do their own thing and let the fandom deal with it without actually listening to them or caring. Nothing worse than showrunners who pay close attention to the fandom and attempt to cater to their every whim.

    ReplyDelete
  24. There is crazy and there is the mob mentality arrow fandom is showing on the social media platform. All of those people could have respectfully put forth why they disliked the poster. Its not just the manipulated poster the issue. I saw a screen cap where some of the comments to this manip was using derogatory words against Laurel. I am not even angry seeing that. I am sad.

    ReplyDelete
  25. No, I know. It makes me feel bad for KC. I get the feeling that some people are starting to feel entitled about what should happen on the show and what shouldn't and I don't like that. Why don't we wait and see what happens to Laurel and Diggle on the show itself? If their arcs this season doesn't work out then yeah fine complain about it, but there's always a chance that it will work out so there's no point in complaining about something that hasn't even happened yet.

It's just a stupid poster. I'm glad Stephen called them out (although I would've done it differently). But it sucks people are taking advantage of him being so open to the fans.

Why can't we all just focus on things we like? It's not that difficult.

    ReplyDelete
  26. Sadness is pretty much my reaction as well, I think I've reached the point where I'm just ashamed to call myself a fan of this show.

I don't dare to tell pepople that I usually watch Arrow/Originls/Supernatural nearly religiously, because a.) I know people would consider me insane and b.) because these fandoms are ALL said to be insane.

Supernatural because of obsessive Sam/Dean vs. Dean/Cas fans.
Arrow because of obsessive shippers, hateful people and...yeah...a**holes
and TO because of the pure nature Klaus relationship with any woman is.

I know that I'm far from a easy to handle-ish fan but I fell REALLY terrible for the fans that just want to enjoy this show.
Becuase I don't think they can anymore.

We (I include myself in that process, I have bitched about a lot of stuff myself) have managed to turn this fandom into some monster that is a mix of entitlement and jealousy.

    ReplyDelete
  27. "EPs and writers need to distance themselves from fans a little bit. That's the only way I can see this madness contained."

^^^ A thousand time this. S**t is getting out of hand.

Write and show the creators' vision of the show and not bow to fan pandering in the least.

    ReplyDelete
  28. 100% agree.

Great shows don't pander to fans at all. They set out to tell a specific story and their main concern is telling that story right and not what the fans think is right.

    ReplyDelete
  29. Honestly Arrow is not a show that is deep. It's no Person of Interest. Mostly its moderate acting some great scenes, amazing action and boom some surprise revelation every other episode. They may eff up Laurel's, Diggle's, Felicity's or even Thea's arc this season. But as long as they keep up a fast pace and bring DC characters and good action scenes Arrow will be praised. Because this show is just fun. We saw that in season 2. People should start taking Arrow lightly.

Regarding the way SA called people out. I like that he is confident enough to express himself when he is pissed. He has no serious loyalty towards one part of fandom. The faster fans understand that the better.

    ReplyDelete
  30. exactly,
never seen a show stick in my memory than just catered to a bunch of entitled fans!

    ReplyDelete
  31. I really liked these tweets Arrow EPs used to give about dialogue nuggets and small spoilers. But now it has gone out of hand. Internet fans have this belief they have the power to alter things. EPs themselves are majorly responsible for this situation.

    ReplyDelete
  32. @mac@O D A You guys are getting sad but the s**t I have been seeing this week is making me go ballistic. I had stopped getting into discussions in Arrow threads during S2 and was watching the show in my own peaceful bubble but this week, I have seen grown up mature people (not angsty, immature teens) on Twitter and other platforms acting like entitled jerks and it's making me really angry.

    ReplyDelete
  33. I re-activated my twitter account yesterday to get a clear look at the situation, I feel you.

The only reason I'm not going ballistic is because I already did in my discussion with Graydon :P

    ReplyDelete
  34. I never understand a fan of ANY show feeling like the show is their show honestly. To me it is a bit pathetic to have a sense of entitlement that out of control.

I understand for fans of some shows (based on comics or popular book series) can lead to fans feeling a strong connection or even feeling they know the show, but the simple truth is that any TV show - even those based on preexisting material - is the showrunner's vision or adaptation of material. Not any one fan's chose-your-own adventure they can direct like some bad fanfic!

    ReplyDelete
  35. Thanks for the link. :)

    ReplyDelete
  36. See, it's like this. The first poster released this week had other people important to Oliver standing with him. Now in this one, no one is with him and the tag line "Saving a city takes a toll" You know what this means? This poster depicts the end of S3. Everyone on that first poster except Oliver is going to die by the end of S3. I am sure of it.

    :P ;) :)

    ReplyDelete
  37. I know it's the same poster without all the other characters but for some reason, this one looks much better to me!

    ReplyDelete
  38. I stay far away from twitter. Never liked the platform. I just come here and visit some other moderated forums to get news. I go to tumblr too as its the first place any news breaks. But I don't comment or get into discussions anywhere else other than spoilertv. I know I won't be able to enjoy the show otherwise.

    ReplyDelete
  39. I felt really bad for him when that Superman Returns question popped up.
Knowing full well how it was torn to shreds and partially still is I'm glad to see that he seems to have a somewhat positive attitude towards the time he spent doing it.
I certainly liked him a lot more in that role than Henry Cavill.

Really hoping they don't mess up the suit, the Atom is a really dull looking hero, hoping they go with a "Edge of Tomorrow"-esque tech-suit than spandex

    ReplyDelete
  40. Do you remember the 2 lies and one truth Stephen Amell did about season 3?
-Roy isn't the only one to get a new suit
-No one major will die in season 3
-We're going to see a new type of arrow.

So does this mean there's hope for Sara??? O_O

    ReplyDelete
  41. maybe they won't introduce boxing glove arrows after all?
also I'll be majorly surprised if we don't see Malcolm lose his head to Ra's

usually writers love to enhance a villains threat level by having that villain kill a former villain

    ReplyDelete
  42. I thought the EPs said that there will be a new type of arrow in the first episode? Or am I getting this wrong?

I'd be pleasantly surprised if no one important dies this season. Which begs the question, what will happen to Sin? I'm pretty sure she's going to die which will probably make Sara go down the darker path. *sigh* I like Sin :/

    ReplyDelete
  43. didn't Bex-Taylor Klaus (seriously...how has she NOT been cast on The Originals yet? with that name) get cast on that Scream pilot? It's just a pilot...

We've seen the new arrow in the 2.5 comic, so that might count?

Same but I wouldn`t consider Sara major, she had a major part to play but ususally the writers consider people major they pay for 22 episodes.

    ReplyDelete
  44. IDK about that, the EPs constantly stress how important Sara is in the third season, especially for Laurel. I'd think she was important. But I guess to each his own.

I hope they don't kill Sara because it would just be a waste of a character :/ What's the point in giving Sara so much screen time in season 2 if she's only going to be turned into a plot device in season 3? That would disappoint me.

    ReplyDelete
  45. Thank you for this article! I can't wait to see how The Atom looks like.

    ReplyDelete
  46. I still feel they did this b/c of the commotion yesterday. But either way. This is much better. To me it says, "Hey I'm about to become Green Arrow. Look out bitchez!" LOL

    ReplyDelete
  47. Actually Stephen's exact words were not every one makes it this season. So it could be anyone. I think Sara is considered an important character in general. Her death would affect a lot of people in this show. So she is major in that respect. I have a feeling no one will die this season.

I don't think they will kill off Malcolm. They would keep him for another 2 seasons at least. Why wouldn't they? JB will bring his fans to the show. And Oliver will have a permenant foe. Its win win all the way.

    ReplyDelete
  48. Ah!! Edge of Tomorrow!! My favorite movie of 2014. How I wish there's a TV show spanning at the least 4 seasons based on this movie. Each season to be 12-13 episodes and ending with the protagonist's death thereby beginning the cycle again in the next season. And in those seasons, the protagonists could have lived and died for at least 2-3 yrs.

Too wishful, but one can dream.

    ReplyDelete
  49. This reminds me of who the show is about. This isn't a typical ensemble cast show like Friends was. Main cast members can be written off at any time.

    ReplyDelete
  50. OMG he has? Thanks for the link! I have no preconception of BR, since I haven't seen him in anything, I'm just here for more heroes suiting up.

    ReplyDelete
  51. That was weird trolling.

    ReplyDelete
  52. I am glad they are bringing more masked heroes this early on the show. I do not like BR but he was fun in the promo. So looking forward to him.

    ReplyDelete
  53. I want the CW to have their own mini Justice League, between Arrow and The Flash, the more masked heroes the better. I'm not familiar with BR, so I'm coming in open minded and he can either impress me or not.

    ReplyDelete
  54. If there is one project I have no complaints of BR it would be The Superman Returns. There was no way he could have salvaged that role. It was not his acting that was the problem in the movie. Everything else was. I am not a big fan of Man of Steel. Too much cgi and lot less honor but I thought Henry Cavill did a good enough job as Superman.

I loved Edge of Tomorrow. Atom is said to be a tech powered superhero in Arrow. So I hope at least there will be lot more gadgets attached to his suit.

    ReplyDelete
  55. theres more atmosphere on this one, but I just went through the posts here and I recall SA FB entry this morning but did not bother to look at the comments - when peeps go crazy about such stuff it is just not a enjoyable read. I am a bit perplexed that a poster from CW marketing is making such a fuzz. I never minded the posters but they were imo never the most improtant teasers or whatsover and as I had the impression not many people have CW marketing in high regard.

Generally I have the impression the Arrow EPs are clearly aware of what teasers they give out to get specific reactions. Not so sure about the Marketing departments. I read somewhere that marketing departments don't generally consult the shows with their promos and stuff - is that true? In an interview SA mentioned being surpirsed to see a specific scene (I assume the almost kiss) on twitter and he thought the episode leaked. Could there be some internal communication problem or am I reading to much into things? Somehow I can't imagen the EP's would not have considered a reaction to the first poster.

    ReplyDelete
  56. While I understand all your points and not being a shipper or a non-shipper myself (I don't mind it, it's just there and it's a tiny part of the show) I feel that saying some fans are making you less interested on a show does not make sense. And even tho I see how some fans can be annoying, just stay away from websites that those annoying fans use. And I've never commented on anything on spoilertv but I usually read the comments out of curiosity and I don't read them with major attention, however I have noticed that in every recent Arrow post you have been bitching yourself about the same topic, and like I said, I get some of your points, but you've made them one time, do you need to keep on giving them in every single post? Especially if they are the same? I know that as a fan you have all the liberty to do it but you're only contributing to what you say you hate, the bitching of the fanbase, which I don't even found that big. I don't think the poster ordeal is a big deal, it's a just a poster, some people are bound to like it, some people don't, changing people's place like some fans did is not disrespecfull , for example, if you don't like Felicity and you wanted a prettier poster in your eyes and wished to take it out, you could have done it. It's just a poster, it's not anything big, the actresses certainly don't care about a single poster. Everyone has its tastes, some people do show it the wrong way but I do think blaming a whole fandom is going to far and dramatizing the whole situation. I also don't think the writers are doing fan service or what people are calling, at least so far. Are they promoting a lot of Olicity? Yes, but that's promoting, for a simples marketing stand point to get ratings. But have we seen the episodes yet? No, so how can everybody say that they are doing it? I am pretty sure that even tho there is certainly going to be some romance, they are not going to be central throught the season as it as always been so yeah, chill people! I hope this message is not agressive or anything, I just felt like showing my opinion and everyone has the right to a different opinion and I hope this is good english too, sorry if there are any writing mistakes and all and I also hope I put the reply in the right place 'cause I do not understand how this comments section works :b and please no hate, 'cause that's bad :(

    ReplyDelete
  57. I'd actually love a TV show based on Oblivion...

but I agree Edge of Tomorrow should seriously be out in developement for TV as well

Ironically Tom Cruise movies tend to be the best sci-fi flicks these days.

    ReplyDelete
  58. Wow! I did hear yesterday that there was all this hype about a "Stupid Poster". I don't do social media but I do look at tumbler and these articles about shows. I love TV shows and Arrow is one of my favorites. I love the action, the characters, and yes I also have a favorite couple but I don't understand the cruelty of people regarding any character you may not like but this-------OVER A POSTER!!! Are you kidding me? I truly believe these people need to take a good long look at themselves and put this in perspective. In the scheme of LIFE, is this so d**m important that someone would bring so much hate to it. I have read all your comments. I respect everyone's opinion no matter what. Maybe I am the exception. It is too bad more people can't be the exception. I know @Mac said that you can't reason with these people and perhaps he is right. I just had to say it. It really saddens me that people are so cruel, hateful, and shallow.

    ReplyDelete
  59. Show is called Arrow. Not Arrow and friends. Hence why it's a better poster.

    ReplyDelete
  60. That's exactly what we are saying for too long now. The only reason things are that bad is because Arrow EP and CW are giving everything Olicity fans want. They explore everything about them, they print this pair everywhere, so it's just natural that their fans are feeling like it's their show. And they don't want Laurel Lance or Katie Cassidy there. So, when we have a nice poster with Oliver and all the people helping him, people get angry and go crazy.
That's why fan pandering is so bad.

    ReplyDelete
  61. Glad he stood up for her. Katie Cassidy doesn't deserve the hate...whether you like or not she's still human and no one deserves hate like she gets from some fans of the show

    ReplyDelete
  62. I remember this, thought it was interesting. I know I heard somewhere that they will be changing/adding stuff to the Arrow suit this season. Don't know if that goes along with "getting a new suit" but its something.
If someone doesn't die this season I'll actually be kind of shocked. They've killed major and secondary characters every season so far.
And I don't know much about his arrow arsenal but I hear tell he has quite a few and they have only shown us a couple so you never know on that one.

    ReplyDelete
  63. I feel that I need to get on here and defend myself as I am one that didn't like where Laurel was in that last poster. However it had/has nothing to do with KC (as she's only as good as the material she's given and lets face it that was a shoddy story line Laurel had last season) and everything to do with the character of Laurel. From what we've seen and where the show left off she had not proven that she deserved that prominent of a place on Team Arrow. Just because she now knows whose who of the 'Team' does not mean she gets to stand next to Oliver/Arrow. That was my problem with the positions. Maybe she has since proven herself in the 6th months since or will be proving herself through out season 3.

    ReplyDelete
  64. There is nothing wrong with you disliking the poster or the positions of characters in the poster. Almost every one commenting here disliked it and wanted things different. Imo there is no problem in editing the said poster if it was done in your personal blog or a discussion forum instead of an actor's personal page. More than that the issue is the derogatory comments against a character in the comments section of the said edited picture. The whole thing was childish and bullying at the same time.

    ReplyDelete
  65. Much better than the other one, not only because the issue of selectively including only some of the characters is resolved, but because we see a lot more of the background - the only cool part in the previous poster - in this one.

    ReplyDelete
  66. I'm so glad SA isn't always trying to be nice to fans. When people are being assholes he calls them on it.

I'm officially over Arrow's fandom at this point. If you're so bothered by the positioning of some stupid poster that you have to make alternate ones and whine endlessly about it on SA's Facebook, then you need to get a life, and I say that as an uber-fanboy who can barely be considered to have a life himself (LOL).

    ReplyDelete
  67. Imagine if it was Thea standing near Oliver instead of Laurel and Laurel was standing somewhere near Roy. None of these people would say Felicity/Thea should go back and Digg should come up front.

I also dislike Laurel and KC's acting. I have defended Olicity fandom here on occasions but these few rude fans are making me so upset. Why hate on an actor? Also hate on Laurel if you want but there is no need to call her a bitch or other derogatory terms. What has Laurel done till now which warrents such reaction? For me she is boring. That's it.

SA calling out those people as a** ****s was necessary imo. It was needed to thwart this belief among fans that he has particular loyalty to any fan base.

    ReplyDelete
  68. I has so many issues with guest stars like him getting so much focus and even getting their own episodes and backstories explored.

    ReplyDelete
  69. The whole fandom is like that. The L fans went to tag Marc & Emily and started claiming that Marc is sleeping with Emily because Marc shown the pic of Felicitys apartment.

    ReplyDelete
  70. Do they even have new promotional photos for characters? We know they didnt do any new photoshoot.

    ReplyDelete
  71. Might be just me, but it looks like Oliver is in desperately need to go to the toilet...something about the way he holds himself just makes me crack up.
