  1. Just friends, please. I think that would be nice, wanted that since the beginning.

  2. I am seeing them as allies and nothing more! As long as delena fans are out there, writers wouldn't dare write them into a romantic relationship-The showrunners fan-service that group really dedicated!!

  3. I would wish that were saved only Damon.

  4. It must be really painful to be a book reader and watch VD. I know in the books Bamon are together so every time i see Bamon fans keeping their fingers crossed for just a tiny scene between Damon and Bonnie i feel so bad for them.
on the show they did come to certain understanding (especially from Bonnie's side) but Damon is a loose cannon. He is dangerous, unpredictable, disloyal, cruel and selfish and won't think twice about sacrificing Bonnie to save Elena. No kind of friendship is possible between them. Because it would be a one way friendship, and Bonnie is too smart and understands it.
They can (and were in the past) allies for when the situation call for it, but that's it.

  5. They'll be allies, do you want the Delena shippers to rip Julie Plec in to pieces? Cos that would happen.

  6. hopefully just friends and allies

  7. yeah as a reader of the books.. I don't even no where to start with my anger at the way the show has been from the start...

  8. That were people also thinking about Dair (Dan and Blair Gossip Girl), but they happened. Not saying it will happen hear but I wouldn't be surprised if it does.
Let's see how their chemistry will work and if there are sparks at all, their scenes mostly were them yelling at each other and saving Elena so this should be refreshing.

  9. I would love to see that but i;m not holding my breath regarding this pair other than quasi-friendship,if they can pull if off properly without screwing it up altogether!

I hope they become a little more protective of each other and understanding of each other, but they shouldn't go into a romantic relationship. They each only have eyes for people with the last name Gilbert, that can only end in heartbreak.

  11. They´ll start to understand each other and become friends, nothing romantic will happen between them, they don´t match and they´re both in love with someone else.

  12. Bamon? Really, is that their shipping name? Why not Damie? Has a better ring to it.

  13. COUPLE!! they have the best chemistry in the entire show.

  14. LOL so????? they have dealt with other fandoms before aka the stelena fandom when Delena started happening and the huge klaroline fandom too... so why the hell should they be afraid of Delena shippers???? the ratings suck anyway. They cant hurt it at this point because the writers lost the ratings by fanservicing them way too much.

  15. I think that the writers are setting up Bonnie (or Bamon) fans for more disappointment. How many times have we heard Plec promise an "interesting" storyline for Bonnie only to prove that she was full of crap? I never read the Vampire Diaries novel, but during the first 1-2 seasons (when Bonnie actually had a real story), it seemed clear that Bonnie and Damon had amazing chemistry. But then Plec took over as the main showrunner and the writers spent the the remaining seasons trying to dampen that chemistry. Suddenly both characters had very few scenes together, and when they did interact, it usually involved Damon doing something awful to Bonnie, for Elena's sake.

I have no doubt that the writers will make some feeble attempt to develop some sort of friendship or fleeting romance between Damon and Bonnie, but I would be extremely impressed, and pleasantly surprised, if they actually gave it real substance and didn't have most of it happening off screen. Plec mentioned that a romance might happen only if the two actors had enough onscreen chemistry. However, we've already witnessed that chemistry in earlier seasons, so if it's not there anymore, that will be entirely because the writers wanted it that way. If Plec was able to get viewers to ship a ridiculous couple like Klaus and Caroline (which still makes absolutely no sense to me), then she could just as easily get people to ship Damon and Bonnie if she wanted to.

Issues with Plec aside, I'm not sure that the writers would have the guts to go against the very vocal online Delena fans (which was the same problem that the writers had with the Blair/Chuck fans in Gossip Girl). It's nice to be able to express our opinions online, but sometimes I miss the days when writers couldn't be bullied by the more vocal fan-bases.

  17. sadly for the show and everyone Delena shippers is the only group they ever care to fanservice.

  18. I don't think the writers will go down the romantic route with those two and frankly I'm perfectly fine with it because it just wouldn't make any sense, in my humble opinion. I'm all for an uneasy friendship that comes out of necessity. I like the two characters/actors chemistry and I just want to see other characters interact. That would be a nice change.

  19. Or maybe Dambonnie....only 'cause it sounds like a dessert, rhymes with Zamboni and based on where you put the inflection, it can have all sorts of different connotations.....Actually that could be a problem....

  20. "Damon and Bonnie love and hate each other pretty fuc- equally." - Julie Plec

"There is a very thin line between love and hate." - Ian Somerhalder

"It's going to force Damon to really rise to the occasion and be a man. Not a selfish little child." - Ian Somerhalder

Damon and Bonnie don't hate each other as much as people think. Damon has respect for Bonnie because she calls him out on his bad choices. You see it in his actions when he tries to make up for it after the fact by thinking more about others and less for himself. For example, when she was angry with him for turning her mother. Bonnie knew that her mother, in some fashion, would suffer for the rest of her life by being an immortal. So did he. He made a completely different choice to let Alaric (his BEST FRIEND) die when he was in the first phase of transition. ("Apparently my choices have been a little controversial lately." - Damon to Meredith) That shows that Bonnie has had an influence on him of some sort.

Whenever it comes down to Elena and heartbreak or rejection, he becomes highly destructive and hurts ANYONE in his own path. Elena, like Katherine once did, drives him INSANE. And NOT in a good way. BOTH women, on the same night, rejected him and he SNAPPED Jeremy's neck. Anyone who romanticizes that, or even the fact that Elena is now taking hallucinogens to see Damon, needs a LOT more education on love and romance. I believe that Bonnie and Damon deserve a shot. They have AMAZING chemistry and both Ian and Kat have wanted this kind of storyline since season 2.

No offense to the DE fans, but that couple HAD a shot and the writing for season 5 COMPLETELY destroyed it. I mean, I know the whole concept of "the bad boy getting the good girl" seems exciting, but it doesn't appeal to me anymore since Elena is a victim of character assassination. She was this sweet, kind, and caring girl in seasons 1 & 2. She became noticeably more "Poor me", whiny, weak and selfish in 3, 4 & 5. Not to mention, she decided to blow herself up without even thinking about how she would be leaving her brother behind. She wasn't even grateful of the fact that her "best friend" brought her back before the resurrection spell could be stopped.

Bonnie, on the other hand, did EVERYTHING to keep everyone safe and alive. People may think that Elena suffered the most, but Bonnie is practically a punching bag. She lost her grandmother, her mother became a vampire, her boyfriend cheated on her with a ghost, HE died, she sacrificed HER life in exchange for his for ELENA'S sake, and her dad died in front of her while she was a ghost HERSELF. The aftermath of it: she became the anchor, had to feel the pain of every dead supernatural creature that went through her and had to feel much WORSE pain in bringing people BACK. I don't know about any of YOU, but I WISH I had a friend like Bonnie Bennett. She deserves a LOT more love than she's given.

  21. I love Bamon always and forever....No matter what the haters/fakers/pretenders say about them they are my number 1 ship from the Vampire Diaries.

  22. I wish it didn't play out. The only option I would even like is friendship. But that seems OOC at this point.

  23. Well that and Damon's actions towards Bonnie throughout the series are awful, and should (if Bonnie has any self-respect) exclude any romantic or possibly even platonic attachment. That and I really sick of the love drama and shipping.

  24. Well except one's a hedonistic (not judging just a fact) murderous vampire who feels little remorse and the other is not.

  25. For me the only genuine question is the one making them a couple until the end of the show, because, it will be people voting truthfully about seeing Damon and Bonnie as a couple, whereas, my fandom (DE'rs) will be voting to friend zone them for very obvious reasons.

    ReplyDelete
  26. Well, it isn't hard to work out which fanbase is voting to keep them in the friend zone, for very obvious reasons of course.

  27. Can't argue with that but being the only two,i'm guessing,as to wherever the hell they ended up,they would have to get along to some extent

  28. True they will need to get past their problems to survive.

  29. I just hope that they don't pull the alternate plane of existence theory, this ain't LOST!

  30. because julie herself is a damon's girl)))

  31. I think they'll play the politically correct card and remain soulmates until they come back to life.

  32. I'm looking froward to them by the time the show opens being friends, but as the show progresses, moving on to being more romantically involved. I believe Damon and Bonnie can be the surprisingly more interesting couple on the show. They already have a very good dynamic as a starting point And Bonnie is the only person I've seen punish Damon when he does wrong. Both are ruthless in the way they deal with people who try to harm the people they love and want to protect.

  33. In answet to the people stating that they don't match, I totally disagree, they do match, because Ian and Kat bring a lot of chemistry to their interactions, especilally in the first two seasons when Kevin Williamson was overseeing everything, and Damon and Bonnie had a lot more interaction together, before, they relationship developement was placed on the back burner in favour of the triangle. Now the scriptwriters have an opportunity to redeem this relationship and they have made a good start by having them stuck together on this mysterious plain of existence 24/7 for other four months, this way Damon and Bonnie get to know each other pretty quickly and come to an understanding of just what makes the other tick. By the time the show aires they would already have formed a bond of friendship, but they will still maintain the kind of banter that is unique to Damon and Bonnie, and Bonnie will still punish Damon anytime he steps out of line.. and they will still have a war of words everytime one or the other disagrees with a plan of action. This will make them a more interesting romantic pairing, and they will not be a toxic relationship, because Bonnie will never allow Damon to do bad things unless it is in defence of their loved ones and in this both are ruthless.

  34. We need to bring back the viewer that the show lost over the course of the seasons, and the only storyline on everyones lips at the moment is Bamon. The storyline generating the most talk and the most interest is Bamon. They have appeared to have woken up the viewers who no longer watch the show any longer, now they are considering coming back just for this storyline. So how Bamon is handled over the course of S6 will determine the number of viewers that will return to the show, and put the ratings back in the 5M+ zone.
