    This promo is no good. This is one of my favourite shows but I'm just going to record it until Damon is back because its going to be stupid without him. Bonnie should come back with a character change so that she's not whining all the time. The song in this promo is not like the music they usually use and too soap-opera for a season premiere. And is Elena doing reckless things so that she can see Damon? I think Bella Swan already did that! I love Nina, Ian and Paul as actors and they always bring so much to their characters even when the story is repetitive... Elena is going through the same things over and over but Nina finds a way to make it fresh even when we should be bored.

    S5 was basically Delena with half-baked story line.Breakup-makeup-breakup again-makeup-finally breakup.You would have seen me excited if it was in its S1-S3 phase. Now it has lost the plot and I know I am not the only person who feels that way.The fan service Julie Plec and Caroline Dries do on twitter to Delena fans because they trend something every other hour. Their writing has been heavily influenced by these fans. Any good writer writes what they wants to write.Sure they look for suggestions online but they don't write what the fans want them too.

    I get that,but now the show is in a precarious position.If you see online,delena fans are rallying to see damon alive and back ASAP in mystic falls and are threatening to boycott the show until he returns.On the other hand,non-shippers are getting irritated with all these delena drama-breakup and makeup since past season.Most of the people hates the central character around which the show is based on-elena coz she's in a toxic relationship and always whining.As i have before in my earlier posts,shipping is what brought down this show.Delena was always going to happen eventually,i knew that from season 1.I hope this season,they place more importance to the storylines and less focus on romance!

    With delena,in the first 2 seasons-it was cat and mouse game and damon was a badass and reckless vampire who could care less what anybody thought of him,that's what made this character so much popular in the 1st place.The moment delena romance started,damon became a puppy and started to do things that elena liked him doing and that brought his character down.He become boring like many stated stefan was in the 1st 2 seasons! Only thing they can do now,keep romance at bay for a while,establish all the boatload of recurring new characters first unless they want another disaster situation like april on their hands.Then continue one season long mythological arc unlike last season when by the time mystery was revealed,nobody cared.I did not read the books so i don't know who ends up who but i would really want to see how elena fares now without romancing either of the salvatore brothers!

    I guess they are showing clips just after damon's departure.After the shows jumps 4 months forward,elena will be a medical intern and adjusting to her BF's absence more rationally.Same cannot be said about jeremy though!

    Ok well I know it's just a trailer and it's like 30 seconds long so it's hard to judge but am I the only one who thinks Elena's drug problem is a bit cliché?
    Anyway, I guess I'll just have to wait and see how they'll handle her depression and it could still be very interesting indeed. I do like the fact that the girl will be out of control for a while. And I'm sure Dobrev will kill it as usual. Again wait and see.
    This season looks very promising nonetheless. Can't wait to see what they have in store for the other characters. And Yay Luke still walks among the living *happy dance* !
    It's a bit of a shame they didn't show Stefan's reaction a little bit more though. Lol I'm never happy with what I'm given lol!

    This season looks good. Elena's problem with the drugs is interesting. It looks like she's in denial. Stefan has accepted that Damon is gone and Caroline is trying to help Elena,as usually. I'm really excited and I hope writers will make a season better than season 5. I'd like to see where Damon and Bonnie are but I will have to wait!

    Why put any hope into season 6 of TVD if everything is pointing towards a toxic and abusive relationship turning more toxic (literally even) ?

    Elena reminds me of those girls that live in abusive relationships for too long, forget how to think and act on their own and fall into a deep downwards spiral if the relationship that mentally scarred them for years suddenly ends thinking that 'they' were at fault.

    TVD is utterly sick at this point. Why even put hope in TO if the creative teams work so closely together?

That being said,Jeremy consuming alcohol and elena doing drugs is not a ideal scenario to cope with grief either!

    I missed others in the promo.Bonnie,i understand coz it would be a huge spoiler but they could have at least give us a glimpse of alaric,matty and enzo.Luke,i knew would pop up sooner than later since the gang lost their useful witch bonnie this season but i didn't expect to see him in the premiere.Guess the wonder twins will be recurring heavily in the first half,at least until they are alive!

    Nope.

    All the relationships have always been unhealthy on this show. I can't think of a single healthy relationship on either TVD or TO. Even in Season 1 - Stefan stalked Elena because she looked like Katherine, pursued her because of it, was very manipulative about the whole thing (he didn't even tell her about the Katherine thing - she found out after they slept together and saw a picture of Katherine).

    Elena has always been way too dependent on the guy she's dating and can't see past it - when she was with Stefan she ignored all the horrible things he had done in the past and didn't really care what he was doing that summer before Season 3 with Klaus - she just wanted her boyfriend back at all costs.

    They changed their plans probably,because most people don't want this friendship to end.Me too.It's rediculous.Caroline was the biggest Stelena fan.They cut a Steroline scene in S5.
    Paul said recently that Stefan's love life in S6 will be zero.I guess he knows better.
    Maybe will'll see only a kiss.Dries said we will explore the feelings behind the feelings.It doesn't mean that Stefan will fall in love with Caroline or something more.

    Last 2 season was nowhere in terms of writing compared to the first 3 seasons,no one is denying that.I was talking renewal prospects.Bad writing does not mean automatic cancellation.Ratings have dropped significantly but still profitable for CW.BTW,a network which saves BaTB after that abysmal ratings,it's safe to say TVD is in no danger of imminent cancellation.

    Creatively arrow is peaking right now and definitely have improved a lot from it's previous season.That being said,it has become much more serialised in terms of storylines and serialised shows tends to lose viewership much more quickly than non-serialised shows.Still,all of that doesn't matter as of now coz CW execs have bigger fish to fry!

    Oddly, I'm not "bothered" by Elena doing drugs because of that reason even if I do feel it's a valid one ;) ! But I'm not sure how influencial a show like this can be on teens (the obvious targeted audience) if that's what you meant. As teenagers, young adults, and adults we do know that those shows are just bigger than life and a fantasy (even if some fans get a little carried away lol). Sorry, I'm not sure I'm being clear here! But if we have to talk wrong messages being sent, I think the fact that all romantic relationships were (Stelena)/are (Delena) unhealthy in some degree are also a perfect statement of that, for instance. Plus, I don't think that someone doing drugs is actually the worst thing that could be shown in a show where everyone is a murderer anyway.
    Or maybe I didn't get what you meant properly and did I just "overreact" a bit? If so, I apologize and please free to say so and explain your view point further ;) !
    That said (and to finally answer your comment ;) !), I only got mixed feelings about this particular SL because I feel like it's a remake of a Twilight or a Buffy one and I don't think it's a very original one. Plus, I was never a fan of those two characters (Damon and Elena) codependancy and the last thing I wanna see this season is a remake of season 5 in regards to this relationship. Even though it really IS logical that we need to explore Elena's grief and how she'll deal with Damon's loss, I'm just tired of her crying her eyes out no matter how good Nina Dobrev is at that. Seeing her being broken but having to continue to live through that or becoming a harsher person because of that for instance, would be more interesting for me to watch. And also I'd like the rest of the plot to move forward as the characters grieve and continue to evolve, etc...
    But, like I said before, it's just a 30 seconds long trailer it doesn't show everything (and it's better off this way) so I realize my criticism is a bit harsh. That's why, I'll just wait and see and I'll give this grieving Elena a chance as they only showed what the first episode had in store for them :D ! I'm definitely excited for the show to come back on october! Can't wait to see all the characters' stories as well.

    Wouldn't say it's peaking necessarily (season three isn't even out yet). True but Arrow has a rather loyal fan base and good critical buzz overall. And with the introduction of more DC TV shows it could gain viewers.

    Absolutely, the writers and the actors are just playing with us as usual they don't give us 'real' spoilers at this point, they tease and they very often lie. There's been a foreshadowing about this potential relationship for quite some time. I guess we'll just have to see if the writers decide to pursue it or not ;) !

    Well I guess you're right a change of plans could definitely happen as the writers have the tendency to do fan-service in some ways but I don't think it would OOC of them especially Caroline to fall in love with him. Girl was into him in season 1 and she always stood by him no matter what after that even it meant she had to let tyler her current boyfriend at the time down in season 4. And it's very much in character for her to fall in love with guys she's best friends with. The Klaus case is different though.
    Stefan, however, is a different beast I guess and him falling in love again with someone else might be the problem here. That being said I really hope we'll see him move on from Elena not necessarily with Caroline even if, like I said, I like the idea of them becoming a couple, but I just think it'll save the character at this point.
    For these reasons I guess it would make sense to me but we're not even sure the writers will want to pursue that kind of relationship indeed.

The reason i want this explored is because im afraid that Stefan without someone is gonna be sad all the time, and worried about Damon and basically being the third wheel of Delena. Im not a TVD fan but i like Stefan's character and i don't want to see him put behind more stupid, sad or unimportant things.

    I agree completely.One cannot divulge everything in a 28 sec promo,it's supposed to be a teaser! I just don't understand why all the folks are extra-sensitive regarding this show! It's like no matter what the writers try to say,everyone ends up understanding something else or getting offended in some way.For example-when there was stelena romance,everyone said they are boring.Then when the creatives brought delena,everyone started saying now damon's character is getting boring and their relationship is toxic.Now when they got rid of delena for a while at least,everyone is jumping the writer's throat saying why she should mourn her lover and move on as if nothing ever has happened.I have seen many fandom,but this fandom is really a tough crowd,nothing can really satisfy us all!!

    It's still a solid mystery show but the focus on Hayley and Marcel as well as Rebekah leaving is slowly throwing me off.
    Also Klaus, my least favourite original, gets WAY too much screentime.


    I hope that with the return of Mikael, Finn, Rebekah and Kol we will finally achieve some blance

    Kol for now is a flashback character. Finn is pretty one note. Rebekah is great (except when she's involved in romance) but won't be back for long, Mikael I like but his interactions with is children are predictable, and Esther well she's a bitch. Given the writers tendency to do small short arcs they're only be around for about 8 episodes tops, so I don't think they'll be much balance. You're gonna have to learn to tolerate shared screen time, as they're all main characters and Klaus well he's the original hybrid so he's gonna get most of the screen time given his relevance to every plot on the show in a way that far outclasses any other character. It's only gonna get worse if you hate Klaus (which I don't get as while he's a sociopathic asshole, he's played really well and I personally like his growth.)

    Yeah It's been confirmed both characters will have their own arc in addition to exploring their feeling for one another. And it's a good thing considering they were both sidelined for the sake of a popular ship for almost 2 seasons now.

    Eh, I could see that with some fans. He had some moments. I liked him when he first came on, then just fell off.(and not even in the i love to hate him area) But I can tolerate him to an extent. I think I only really cared for him in the classroom scene(When he was telling his story), and my favorite line of his is "I'm joking, I joke, British humor." I LOL'd to that one.

    That promo is all about Delena. The promo is selling season 6. I want to see all of them, just a few seconds at least, maybe even show Bonnie? Maybe something about Stefan? Every second of the promo is about Delena. I'm not saying the whole season will look like the promo, but I'm also sure the promo could have been about a lot of other things, or at least include something other than Elena crying. Someone that doesn't want a "delena rain kiss", or really doesn't care about Delena, that promo sucked, and it's making Elena look pathetic. Elena is a main charcters, but she is not the only one on the show

    The thing that isn't right is the fact that they have pretty much made Stefan/Elena relationship pointless using the doppelganger storyline to explain why Stefan and Elena got together. Plus the fact that for some reason the have that Elena broke up with Stefan, He was the one that pretty much ended it. Sorry bad that bad writing on there part.

    i think this is by far the lamest and cheesiest promo ever! The writers should be ashamed of how bad Elena became after this train wreck called Delena started. This show went downhill since. It's pathetic that Elena seems to forget that her best friend died too. what a joke this show became after Season 3

    They had to 'switch OFF' Elena during her brothers grief but he came back in the end. All that character development down the drain. Now they have her 'using' to get over Damon, pretty sure he will be coming back too!

    If she is such a strong character [as Nina likes to state in interviews] why is she not learning from her past grief, pulling up her big girl designer panties and getting on with her life!

    The girl is living in the past, the past is pretty soon going to comeback and they will gloriously screw . Why not make Elena look towards the future, live it, then make the past comeback to complicate matters, it would have been more original than copying other source material!

    Believe me there's a WIDE spread dying for season 3. As a matter of fact all the large fan base sites are starting a marathon today. Til Oct 7th. It's definitely peaking. SeasOn 3 will be epic.

    They kind of lost the plot, mythology-wise, after season 3. The show had some really cool ideas in terms of the supernatural creatures and magic. I watched this show *despite* the teen drama and endless cycle of hookups in different permutations, not *because* of it. Now it seems like all the cool plotlines are gone and only the annoying--and largely inconsistent--drama remains, and I still watch it mostly out of habit. Hopefully the new one will focus on a more coherent story that has something resembling a point over the course of the season.
