I voted Nick because I adore them together but it's a moot point as the writer and producers have made it clear it's ultimately Sam/Andy endgame. Right now I'm settling for a really close friendship or at least some triangle awkwardness involving Nick.
I didn't take it literally.Maybe it reminded me too much of a shipper question and it was a ridiculous question to begin with. I really thought people would get that by my answer!
What kind of poll is this? This is just asking for trouble asking a question like that. I didn't vote and I won't. Personally I think Andy should be with Nick but I honestly wouldn't be surprised if Andy ends up with Sam in the end.
Lol. Awkwardness involving nick? Let's not. It's not worth sacrificing the integrity of the Sam/Andy love story just to give Nick something to do. It's over. Time to move on. Nick isn't even in the same orbit as Andy. She's over him. It took like a day. What would be the point of that said "awkwardness"
Andy made her choice. It's not nick. It was never going to be nick. They've been building Sam and Andy since the series started. Let everyone move on. I'm glad the writers didn't drag anything out or play any stupid games. There no comparison.
Nick and Andy don't even really share scenes together...
The point Erica, would be to satisfy the many (and there are many) Nick and Andy shippers out there. The writers did a purposeful and good job of making some of the fandom buy into the light, fun and happy relationship that Nick and Andy shared. Some of us would therefore still like some level of relationship to exist between Nick and Andy even if it's as best mates (which is my main hope). I would feel cheated as a viewer if the writers kept Nick and Andy apart going forward as it's for those two characters (and Gail's bitchiness) that I tune in. I'm okay enough for Sam and Andy to be together but I would be very unsatisfied is that was at the cost of a Nick and Andy friendship. I realise Nick is hurting right now so they need to give him so space. But after the rawness has healed I hope Nick and Andy share many many more scenes together.
That's ridiculous. At the cost of Nick and Andy's friendship. Nick and Andy's friendship/relationship whatever isn't important. It certainly isn't as important as Sam and Andy's relationship. The writers should not worry about a friendship between Nick/Andy while writing the love story of Sam/Andy. If Andy needs a BFF it better be Traci. That is an actual relationship that was set from day one.
I don't care if Nick and Andy ever share one scene together again. They shouldn't be a priority. McSwarek is happening and it's not at the expense of anything. It's been the story they've been telling since the pilot. Andy and Nick were a block in the road.
At the end of last season, I would have said "Nick and Andy", but at this point, I'd go with "no-one", given the way Nick's character was dumped. This is something I think that the writers could have handled better. The Sam and Andy relationship doesn't sit well with me, but fortunately, the other characters and their storylines keep me watching. It would be nice to see Luke return, but for completely unrelated reasons!
I'm just simply stating the facts. It makes no sense for the writers to worry about a friendship between Nick and Andy while they are telling Sam and Andy's love story. I'm sorry, but Nick wasn't that important. He doesn't require that much attention. It happened. They are moving forward.
The answer is simple, Sam. What Nick fans seem to forget is that, as the writers have said, Nick (and Marlo, for that matter) was used as a tool in the McSwarek love story. His purpose in sleeping with Andy was to propel the McSwarek story. Andy and Sam had to go through certain things in S4, to get them where they were in the finale, ready to become one again in S5. Nick was never anything more. Andy and Nick are clearly 100% over, even the actor has said this in an interview. The writers have said this. A new love interest for Nick has even been talked about later this season. So, get over thinking he's going to get back with Andy. He's not! It has always been and always will be SAM and Andy.
Erica, I just have to say I agree with everything you've said. You hit the nail on the head with all of your comments. Nick was only used to help tell the Sam and Andy love story. He doesn't matter now. The writers are writing Nick his own love interest and have said Andy and Nick are over. I wonder when people will get it through their thick heads they are done. And Sam and Andy are the love story of the entire series.
take it easy, friendship doesn´t hurt, the writers need to keep the logic, i´m a nick/andy fan but I respect Sam and Andy, you should do the same...have a good day
Andy already made her decision and she considered her life with Sam, the decision that she made is something amazing :) She chose the man who really loves her and who she really loves. I liked her decision.
