Then there is the question of relationships on a show all about unknown relationships. “The question of who is Reddington to Elizabeth Keen is the central conceit to the show,: responded Bokenkamp to questions of whether Reddington is the rookie FBI agent’s father, “but we’re really not going to answer that.” From burn marks to pocket photos and the secrets of a dying man, the May 12 Season 1 finale set up a lot for the show’s return – especially about who Reddington really is and what his relationship with Keen might be. Spader himself had some thoughts on the big question. “The real relationship is their present relationship,” the lead actor said. “Destinations aren’t enough. The ultimate answer should be that looking backwards.”

Spader: “The second season I think portends even more as the show sort of blew up at the end of the season and allowed the second season to become more expansive. We start to learn little bit more about Reddington and his mythological history.”

EPs Bokenkamp and John Eisendrath joined the actor on the panel in the SRO room. NBC also handed out swag of the Spader character’s trademark black fedora and Blacklist T-shirts.

Parker will debut in the Sept. 22 season opener as Naomi Hyland, a woman keeping a secret from her husband and who is “completely tied to Reddington,” Blacklist creator Jon Bokenkamp said.

  1. I'm glad that they are not in a hurry to reveal the relationship between Red and Lizzie!

Much like I did not care about who the mother was in HIMYM, I don't really care whether or not Red is her father. I care much more about their current dynamic and how Red's past affects everyone. I find Red's past far, far more intriguing than just Lizzie's parentage I guess! XD

And that makes me very excited to hear that they will delve deeper into the characters' mythologies!

  3. "Season 2 will also explore how Liz recovers from Tom. #TheBlacklist"

He is dead then? no right?

  4. I'm not sure ... I keep going forth and back between Tom being dead and a live, but....
They may not reveal the answer to that for a while. That would leave Liz to deal with thinking he's dead even if he is alive.

  6. but who could take him away if it was not her?... maybe she has him somewhere to get answers out of him¿? or someone from Red's team took him¿? ...but either way he needed help and badly and if it was Liz who helped him, Red would know like in the moment what she did... I hope he is not dead i want to know more about him like they said they are going to develop the characters background, i want t see what happened to him.

  7. I figured he was still alive. That would explain why they decided to show that scene at the end with Tom's body gone instead of slumped over on the floor against the wall.

Liz can still "recover" from Tom, with him still alive.
