Game of Thrones' Natalia Tena cast as lead of BBC Worldwide series The Refugees Natalia Tena to star in BBC Worldwide And Atresmedia co-production The Refugees

Game of Thrones and Harry Potter actress to lead cast of new sci-fi drama which starts shooting this summer. Partnership with ATRESMEDIA is the first original co-production for BBC Worldwide with a European broadcaster. The Refugees (Refugiados) will be the first series that ATRESMEDIA has commissioned for Spanish channel laSexta.

BBC Worldwide and ATRESMEDIA TV today announces that Natalia Tena (Game of Thrones, Harry Potter) will star in The Refugees – a new English-language sci-fi drama co-produced by BBC Worldwide and AtresMedia. The British actress of Spanish heritage is currently known for her role as Osha in Game of Thrones and played Nymphadora Tonks in the Harry Potter films.

The series will begin filming this summer before premiering on laSexta in Spain in the autumn. BBC Worldwide will act as co-producer, commissioner for international channels, and global distributor. The director and remaining cast will be announced in due course; Tom Grieves (Law and Order UK, Being Human) is currently acting a script consultant on the series.

The Refugees (Refugiados), which has been created by Ramón Campos, Gema R. Neira, Cristóbal Garrido and Adolfo Valor will be produced by Bambú Producciones, producer of Grand Hotel, which airs in the UK on Sky Arts. The Refugees explores the impact on a small rural community after millions of refugees from the future travel back in time to seek shelter in the present.
