HBO has scheduled the June debuts for THE LEFTOVERS and True Blood.

From Damon Lindelof (Emmy® winner for “Lost”) and acclaimed novelist Tom Perrotta (Academy Award® nominee for “Little Children”), THE LEFTOVERS begins its ten-episode season SUNDAY, JUNE 15 at 10:00 p.m. (ET/PT), immediately following the season finale of “Game of Thrones.” Based on Perrotta’s bestselling novel of the same name, the drama series is an original look at The Rapture…because it’s not entirely clear The Rapture happened. Justin Theroux, Amy Brenneman, Christopher Eccleston, Liv Tyler, Charlie Carver, Max Carver, Carrie Coon, Ann Dowd, Michael Gaston, Emily Meade, Annie Q, Margaret Qualley, Amanda Warren and Chris Zylka star. Lindelof serves as the series showrunner.

True Blood begins its ten-episode, seventh and final season SUNDAY, JUNE 22 at 9:00 p.m. Mixing romance, suspense, mystery and humor, the series takes place in a world where vampires and humans co-exist, after vampires have come out of the coffin, thanks to the invention of mass-produced synthetic blood that means they no longer need humans as a nutritional source. The series follows waitress and part-faerie Sookie Stackhouse (Anna Paquin), who can hear people’s thoughts, vampire Bill Compton (Stephen Moyer) and vampire Eric Northman (Alexander SkarsgĂ„rd). Alan Ball created the show, which is based on the bestselling Sookie Stackhouse novels by Charlaine Harris.

This Sunday, April 4, just before “Game of Thrones” begins its fourth season at 9:00 p.m., HBO will air teases for THE LEFTOVERS and True Blood. The tease for THE LEFTOVERS will be available simultaneously at youtube.com/HBO. The tease for True Blood is available now at youtu.be/vws0B3EuXdg. 3. So excited.

It's going to be a good summer with Mistresses, True Blood, Masters of Sex, Pretty Little Liars, Teen Wolf, The Bridge and a few others.

  4. Really intrigued by how they will adapt the Leftovers, the book was interesting but didn't really explain why the event happened so I wonder if the show will or not.

  7. Sundays in June/July will be insane for me! These two plus Devious Maids, Salem, Penny Dreadful and the new season of A Place to Call Home! I can't wait :D

  8. Can someone please explain to me why True Blood premieres a week later than The Leftovers? Wouldn't The Leftovers have a better chance at an audience, if True Blood was its lead-in on the premiere night? I really don't understand it..

  9. The Leftovers will premiere right after one of HBO's most popular shows airs it's season finale.

  11. There was a comment from Stephen Moyer not too long ago that may imply that in 2016 there may be an extension of True Blood in some way on HBO (A spin off, a movie?). However, his comment could refer to a different project with himself and HBO, but he said that announcement about whatever he was referring to should be announced soon!

  13. YAY!!! Can't wait for both the finale season of True Blood and to see The Left Overs (glad they will be paired for a while)!!!

  14. Think that is probably for the best

  15. An interview with Damon Lindelof stated that season 1 is "the book", but if it goes beyond one season it will expand...

  16. I heard but nothing came of it yet...

  17. Since they're making a lot of announcements getting ready for summer and fall, we might here something soon.

  18. Interesting thanks, I think there is a lot of great ideas they can expand on with the show in future seasons. I hope people don't get too obsessed with the mystery angle and realise its probably more to do about the characters.

  19. I think as long as they answer some/give small hints about some things, it won't rub people too wrong, but I think if people really care about the characters, than they should be able to understand that their reaction to the unknown is more important than the unknown...

So did you like the novel? I was thinking of picking it for summer reading?

  20. I liked the novel but didn't love it, its a strange one but kind of a compulsive read.

  21. Oh right!! Stupid me. I forgot that Game of Thrones will still be on the air by then :) Thanks!
