  1. oh boy. i've given up on the show after season 2. and this synopsis applies to about every single episode i've ever seen.

  2. I have only seen the first season and a few episodes after that, but isn't this the synopsis of every single episode that has aired so far?

  3. Yes it is, the main-plot (the takedown of the Graysons) doesn't evolve...

It is always the same, Emily has a big plan, all episodes are building to that "big cat fight" but she fails, the same sh*t all over again. For a little changes in the story, there are also subplots who tend to be like ripped of an daily soap and beautiful people popping up from the main-characters past, so it's always the same but with new characters (who only stay for a few episodes) and new soapy subplots.

The entire main-plot of season 2 - 3(so far) can be summarized in two sentence:

Emily wants to take down the "Initiative", the group of people who lead the conspiring. She fails, so she acts like the Initiative never existed, now she concentrates her revenge of the Graysons, but also fails and now she has a plan who is also doomed to fail.

  4. That's what I was thinking lol.

  5. C'mon every single week she is doing something drastic, KILL SOMEONE ALREADY!

  6. Don't get me wrong, I do love this show. That being said, I have never encountered a show that works so hard to have ABSOLUTELY NOTHING EVER HAPPEN. The woman has been almost 3 years at this revenge now and not a single Grayson has been taken out. At the most they may have been mildly inconvenienced. Come on Emily, get out that red sharpie and cross off a Grayson or 2! Getting tired of 2 seasons of treading water.

  7. LOL, everyone is so right. Zero movement or development in the plot of this show, every episode can (and more or less DOES) have the same synopsis. The first half of Season 3 was awesome because Emily had a concrete goal (framing Victoria for her own murder) that the show was building towards. But since the aftermath of that, we're back to Season 2 type stalling - endless treading water and stretching everything out beyond belief in lieu of stuff actually HAPPENING. I'm thisclose to giving up.

  8. I wholeheartedly agree. It's funny because in the entire first half of season 3, I was absolutely glued to the screen and guessing throughout the whole 10 episodes of who shot Emily because as you said, there was a concrete goal that the show was building towards! Now ever since it got back from it's break and added the pointless characters of Pascal, Stevie, and Javier, the episodes have been absolutely tedious. If Sunday's episode of the sharpie return doesn't get me excited for the show again, then I give up also. I still wonder how in the hell I made it out of season 2.

  9. I'm still shaking my head at this ridiculous storyline with Pascal being tied to Flight 197. Apart from that being contrived in itself, just look at the "progress" of the storyline. In the end of 3x16, Emily discovers the note that reveals Pascal's ties to the Graysons' plot and decides to go after him. In the end of the next episode, Aiden shows up and reveals that the note was signed by his father, so they decide to find out why. By the end of the NEXT episode, they learn that some reporter is connected to Aiden's father and apparently HE also something to do with this (and is alive) so they need to find him... WTF?! I guess next, we'll find out that this reporter's cousin twice removed had a girlfriend whose hairdresser was BFF's with Conrad's assistant during the Flight 197 fiasco. *facepalm*
It's like Setheriel said above - it feels as if they're actively working to make sure nothing happens, ever. If they don't get their shit together fast, the ratings will hit rock bottom. Why are they so afraid of a serious game-changer? I'm not saying Emily should put all 3 Graysons six feet under (or in prison) and go live happily ever after with Aiden or Jack, obviously, because then the show would have to end. But she needs to make some SERIOUS traction in her revenge. They need to shake things up majorly, such as by having Charlotte, or even everyone, discover Ems' true identity. They seem to have no idea what to write so instead they're perpetually stalling.

  10. Preferably Daniel.

  11. The season really needs to end with a massive shake up like either Conrad, Victoria or Daniel dead for real or one of them finding out the truth about Emily. I like the show but I think a 13 episode wrap up season would be enough, too many fillers happen otherwise.

  12. Could not have said this better. You and I my friend are on the same page with this one. It feels like they are just putting random names/plot points on a white board and throwing darts at them at this point. Like you said, traction with this story is needed, otherwise, its just a daytime soap where you can tune out for 2 years and come back, having missed nothing at all.

  13. If it were up to me, Daniel would be dead, thus setting Conrad and Victoria on their own vengeance quest against Emily, and Charlotte would discover her sister's true identity and have to pick a side, like, YESTERDAY. There are so many ways they could change the game and make the show exciting again, but instead they opt to drag us through nothingness week after week. Since we've come back from the latest break, every ep is 90% boring-ass irrelevant subplots and 10% main plot movement at the pace of a drugged snail.

  14. I so agree I'm just so sick of the writers adding new characters. Its making the show boring, its like their purposely trying to get us to stop watching.

  15. Can she just destroy them already? What is taking so long? Oh, right I stopped watching this show early in the season because she was taking so long.

  16. With this show, I keep thinking "What would Scott Evil do?"

    ReplyDelete
  17. Yeah, I thought about the same thing. I've given up the show 5 episodes ago and don't miss it that much. Emily sounds like broken record "I'm gonna take down the Graysons once and for all." It's like a flipping catchphrase.

WOAH. I think people are being way to hard on the show! Yes, every episode has not featured some revenge plot and yes, the Pascal plot development has been a little slow, but it hasn't been THAT bad. It's still entertaining. I love how everyone says "oh yeah I'm totally going to give up on this show" EVERY WEEK, and yet here they are, saying it again. Actually I don't love it, I'm really sick of it. I personally like a lot of the story-lines the show is throwing at us, and I do respect others opinions, but spreading hate just for the purpose of spreading hate is rather pathetic, especially when a lot of people post the same hate on every friggin Revenge post there is.

This is just an early synopsis, if they release too much the episode before it wouldn't be surprisingly.. Wait for the press release.

Actually, hardly any of the plots are daytime soap opera storylines. Have you even seen a daytime soap opera? I highly doubt it. I (unfortunately) have, and none of the storylines even fit into the same ball par as Revenge's plots.
