    Stelena closure...it's about damn time. I doubt it's done for good, but for the time being? Oh yes. I'm glad it was shown that Elena and Stefan fell in love for real, and it wasn't a the universe or a...*cough* sirebond that forced it. Luckily, this leaves things WAY open for Steroline. I mean...the circumstances are PERFECT.

    Stefan and Elena = true love, free will, beauty. Damon and Elena = toxic, sirebond, gross!


    Paul did an amazing job directing this episode. I think this was more of a "now it's not the best time for us" for Stelena. After all, "that kind of love never dies" and they can't ever be just friends. Their scenes were beautiful and enjoyable



    Tired of the recycled Dullena shit and the ridiculous speeches. I hope this was it for this awful "relationship".

    Steroline, if happens, will be somewhat like Dan and Blair, doomed from the start, whatever you think about her relationship with Chuck. Caroline has always rooted for Stefan and Elena, and even if she goes romantic with Stefan I don't see that changing. It might happen, but it won't last. Stefan's one ture love will always be Elena, Caroline would get insecure within minutes of romance with Stefan. I think their friendship is beautiful and unique in a show full of too much random hookups, so I want them to be friends.

    The presumption that Steroline would be ruined if they got together and broke up is so insanely broken that I'm surprised people keep using it against them. Also, Elena had her chance to move on with someone else. Stefan deserves the same chance before Stelena ever happens again. He hasn't had a serious relationship since Elena, and it would annoy the hell out of me if they got back together before he had his shot. That would be pathetic.

    About time Stefan and Elena had closure even though I don't think it's over tried of Elena and Damon having same conversation can they either get back together or move on I know a lot of people want Stefan and Coraline I don't I like they are friends who can confide in each other and be there for each other to me they are the Lucas and Haley from One Tree Hill so hope they don't go there

    Wish Paul had written the episode as well. I am getting sick of this indecisive girl getting chances to pick brothers like you would a toy at a funfair, and equally getting sick of these brothers not having any self-respect......though Stefan was the better man this episode.

    I don't ship anyone on TVD, but it's pretty obvious that romantic Steroline would be ultimately a plot device to bring back Stelena. Elena would be crazy jealous and mad, let's be honest.

    I figured that Kol's return would be short-lived. Nathaniel Buzolic is too busy for the story to lead to a resurrection, so the only solution was to try to show a sensitive side to Kol to make fans happy. I found it strange that Matt was able to remember what happened on the Other Side, but it's possible that he remembered because whatever made him forget before is malfunctioning. That or he let Kol have his body and he stayed behind to look for Vicky, and Kol remembered everything because he's a passenger. I don't think that's likely, though. From the way Matt talked, he had to be Matt, and I'm sure there would have been some indication near the end of the episode if he wasn't.


    I know it's getting tiresome for people to see Damon and Elena break up over and over, but this time it was much closer to being mutual. She might obsess about it later on, but that's what people do when they're coming out of a toxic relationship. Julie Plec said that adult conversations needed to be had, and I think we witnessed two of them already. First Elena asked Damon to let her go and he reluctantly agreed, and then Damon stood his ground and told Elena how he really feels, and she agreed to give him space. Elena can't be friends with either of the brothers because there's still love there, which means that the central love triangle will still be around even after Elena has her free will back and is able to fall in love with other men. This will probably happen when the Traveler situation is resolved, one way or another. I'm holding out hope that in the absence of the doppelganger prophecy, Season 6 will bring something new for Elena's character.


    The directing was wonderful. Paul Wesley did a great job. I was definitely reminded of Season 1 when I saw the leather jackets. I still wonder, though, if there was some significance to the house where Markos was staying. No one mentioned any connection between the house and any other characters from the past, although I thought I recognized one room as being part of the mansion where Klaus lived. Then Markos said something to Damon about people taking their homes for granted. Maybe I'm making something out of nothing, and there's more than one abandoned house in Mystic Falls. One thing is for sure. Markos knew what he was doing when he stopped the visions. He wanted to upset Stefan and Elena by giving them a fantasy life they would have wanted and then taking it away. I think Damon knew that, too, and that's why he's going to want the dagger.


    People were right about Tyler having a passenger in him. I hope this is his last storyline. I can't take much more of Tyler the plot device. I get it, writers want him to be a villain, but I think it's time to say goodbye to Tyler and at least one or two other characters so that new ones can be brought in.

    The only things I liked were seeing Kol again, and oddly, I do like Caroline with Enzo. Everything else sucked. It's just unwatchable for me. And at this point, I don't want Elena with Damon or Stephen anymore. I'm so sick of the fake endless breakups. I hate the Travelers and their story does nothing for me. I've lost interest in Bonnie and Jeremy's ship. The writing on this show is just garbage. The Originals is so much better with new and refreshing stories. If I have to hear about the doppelgangers one more time, I'm gonna hurl.

    I was never a shipper on the show, but I favoured SE, LOL if that makes sense! I loved the books and for anyone who wants to see a triangle involving brothers handled with real sensitivity and respect, I recommend the books. But after rewatching key points in tonight's episode I think it safe to say Stefan has accepted he loves Elena and cherishes their time together but has moved on, along with Elena. I think the show has now made a point, by fore-shadowing SC/DE.....were it is heading. If Season 6 is the last they are paving the way to finish all lose ends.

    I don't see Elena being bothered with Stefan moving towards Caroline. She will now be more focused on Damon.
    So I guess I have finally stopped debating with myself on who will get the 'Golden Girl'
    I only now wish the writers will give the brothers relationship a little more attention.

    I'm so over this show. We need new villains the travelers are just not doing it for me. I know a lot of people were happy to see more of Matt on screen but to me he still is useless and pointless in this show. And him going to the other side and meeting Kol there of all people to me was just stupid. I have no clue what Kol has to do with any of this. Matt coming back to life and remembering everything sure he might have another person in him now, but even if he does I really don't care. The whole Stefan/Elena dream scenes would have been good if they happened like a season ago, them happening now was not believable. Them having their talk made me think the writers have something planned for them, don't know why but I just have that feeling. I really wish that Bonnie was a witch cause I miss her witchyness. Jeremy is still being a dumb ass by trying to prove he's a man, no Jeremy your still a boy go sit down somewhere. Also when Tyler goes back to his normal self after being used by Markos we all know he will whine then run away again like he always does, Tyler annoys me now too. I really hate what they have done with Damon's character, the end where he tells Elena he doesn't want to hear her voice or see her face, yeah cause that's going to happen when all of y'all are trying to stop the travelers. Damon EVERYONE told you it would not work, hell even you knew it wouldn't last and now you want be hurt and upset that Elena was right for breaking up with. Please go on a ripper run and get over it. I like evil, couldn't care less Damon. Over all it was poor episode. I know a lot of people are going to disagree with me but hey it's just my opinion, don't hate on me too much.

    I never compare TVD to TO...i can't stand when people do that. It might be a spin-off but it's still a new show, so it has to be "new and fresh" TVD have been around for 5 years, so like with many other shows, it will go down from the best seasons it's ever had. Before it can possibly rise back up and go out with a bang. But i guarantee this, watch in about 5 yrs, if The Originals make it that far, they'll be right where TVD is now. The storyline's will drag, it'll become confusing, blah blah blah, etc etc. etc. The only reason we're putting up with the series now is because, we're diehard fans of the series. And i don't see anything wrong with that. Personally, i still love the show. It has it's downers here and there. And it's extremely tiresome plots half the time. But TVD is what made me sign onto sites to network about shows in the first place. Out of my millions of shows i never bothered to join anything. I would just read people's comments but never interact. UNTIL TVD came along. So that's saying something.


    Well, i guess you got your wish. Elena is officially single now, so my advice to you is enjoy while you can. That's what most fans wanted, and now it's happened. So ya know, smile. LOL....at this point, i'm just looking forward to the season finale. B/c for me they never disappoint on those. I've never shipped Beremy. I thought they were a little cute when they forst got together, but that was it. And i'm definitely not on board with Carlenzo!! Gurllll, don't get me started. lmao = P

    I voted Poor but only because I liked seeing Kol again and hope that they save the other side in time to save him from being sucked off into hell or whatever was happening to the other side residents. I also still enjoy the chemistry between Caroline and Enzo, not wanting a hook up between them or anything but I enjoy their scenes. Everything else was trash.
    I especially don't understand why if the traveler thing is a such a big threat to all witches, why in the hell are there only the two teenage witch twins the ONLY ones there to stop it? That's just asinine and completely unbelievable.

    The one thing I really like about this episode was some really cool camera angles, Paul really did a good job, Enzo and Caroline scenes were good and the Travelers were just no, seriously someone kill them already, an Original seemed to be killed easier than these weirdos. I don't know where this show is going anymore :(

    I mean... I love how on a show where virtually every main character has murdered an innocent person, the shippers are still fighting the "what do they deserve battle". Stefan has, on the whole, been better to Elena - which makes sense because Damon's whole arc is about redemption and whether or not he wants it. Note how almost all of this is from Season 1 or 2 and how they needed three more seasons of more selfless behavior to sell the pairing.



    Stefan's is about control and whether or not he can happy with who he is. Let's not pretend like he's a saint, though, lest we forget the summer he spent vivisecting co-eds and the time he compelled an innocent girl to off herself.


    In general, I think Stefan has no interesting where to go as a character as long as he's hung up on Elena. There's not a lot of fireworks in that pairing, it's more saccharine and sweet. If they want it to be end-game, that's fine, but give Stefan something interesting to do outside of his occasional bouts with evil before we get there.

    I did not really like this episode. It was kinda boring. I even though I want Damon and Elena to end up together. I did like the idea of Elena and Stefan have dream of a future they could have had. It was a good ending for them. Also they did make a good point that they just grow apart. I hope this a little more meat in the episode next week.

    Exactly!!!! What makes Elena such a prize? Stefan needs to move on to Caroline. Damon needs to just move on and Bonnie needs to ditch the younger Gilbert's ass and find someone who deserves her (although this would probably all happen behind the scenes)

    I think this is one show were the lead is special because she is just the lead. Before she was the human doppelgÀnger, now she isn't even the only one......I find nothing endearing about her. I don't understand how her friends are always ready to lay down their hopes and dreams for this girl. The brothers are just a hopeless case. They just a group of people co-dependant on each other, it's quite sad.

    Reason why Matt remembered is bc the Other Side is collapsing and the laws between Reality and After life is becoming a blur since the Travelers sacrificed themselves to bring back Markos...in others words Other Side collected too many souls and inadvertently allowed one to escape causing the scale of life and death to shift towards life for there is an unequal balance now.

    I wonder if Vicky really went into the deep void like Katherine did, or if she went to be at peace. Another mythological option that I'm not sure if the writers would explore could be reincarnation. If people get too crazy about wanting Katherine back, a different explanation for the deep void could be dreamed up. At this point, all we know is that supernaturals on the Other Side are getting sucked away into an invisible vacuum, even though they went to the Other Side because they didn't qualify to go to a dark dimension. Meanwhile, humans are on the Other Side because there are passengers in their bodies, and it hasn't been shown yet what might happen to those humans. You're right. There are too many souls on the Other Side. The afterlife that's been imagined by the writers so far is fascinating to watch.

    Idk what's the travelers plan but katherine soul never made it to the other side which begs the question whatever force that took katherine away is it the same force who is at work collecting the other side souls. Marko must been really powerful that the other side somehow balanced out but after the travelers killed themselves they basically matched out the power markos had in the other side. now that he's out the balance is uneven which makes the travelers didnt have enough power to match markos power....its like a minefield when a solider steps on it only way for him to safely get off it match the weight of the solider on to the mine.

    I don't know about all of that, but it does seem that whatever took Katherine took another vampire (Vicky) from the Other Side, which means that Markos' resurrection caused so much damage that the Other Side might as well not exist anymore. That or the afterlife is trying to correct itself, a form of magic collecting souls as it was created to do probably long before the Other Side existed. The more souls are collected and placed, the less dead people will be walking around when the Other Side is gone. Lifting the veil didn't bring about the vortex, but the current problems on the Other Side are probably big enough to trigger another judgment of the dead. As the Travelers continue disrupting the Other Side, e.g. by placing passengers into humans and forcing those humans' souls into the Other Side, it will degrade even further until it's completely gone. At least that's what the EPs said, and that's why Bonnie is in danger. She will inevitably die with the Other Side as long as she's part of it. If the humans stay on the Other Side long enough, they'll probably somehow go away to be at peace. I'm not sure if that's done by force or not. Some people just don't want to cross over. Maybe the vortex doesn't only lead to a dark dimension. Maybe it exists to ensure that the dead go where they're supposed to if they don't belong on the Other Side. It always bothered me that Katherine reportedly ended up in a dark dimension while someone as evil as the Original Witch went to the Other Side. There could be levels of afterlife, too. Caroline Dries said that the dark dimension wouldn't be explored much, and Julie Plec said there is a very small chance that Katherine could return in some form. I remember there being a dark dimension in the books, and while I'm sure this won't happen on the show, it was possible for main characters who didn't belong there to get brought out.

    basically the other side and human world is collasping and created a void that's acting as a correction force by sucking up the other side ppl bc markos escaped when in fact he was never to leave at all or anyone else for that matter.

    I think Bonnie mentioned Grams' appearance. It was probably make-up. Whatever's happening to the Other Side is having an effect on everyone there. I agree that Beremy is dragging. It's time to end it already. I'm not sure I like where the Luke and Liv storyline is going, either. I don't understand why they keep trying to kill Elena, as if it worked so well for everyone else who did that. Someone questioned why it's only the two of them in Mystic Falls, and I think that's because the rest of their coven is waiting for the right time to come out of hiding and fight the Travelers.


    I, too, enjoyed comments such as the one about Markos being destiny (good one, Damon), and a lot of Caroline's interactions with other characters. People shipping Caroline and Enzo will be waiting a long time because from what I understand, Enzo only enjoys messing with Caroline's head. He likes to cause trouble.


    I didn't hate the dream sequences, but I didn't see any point to them, either. That part of the story seemed like filler to me because it was too easily resolved and I feel that it went too far in the end without any explanation. I enjoyed the conversations Elena had with both Stefan and Damon. It was time to get a fix on where Stefan and Elena stand, even if it can change a year from now, and I was glad to see Damon finally tell Elena what he wants. Technically, they've both been hurting each other by being around each other and sleeping together after breaking up. Neither of them took advantage of the other, but they both needed to put it out there that they need to move on. I think there will probably be more slight Delena relapses before the season is over, but circumstances will undoubtedly conspire to ensure that they're ripped apart. Relationships don't last long on TVD. However, it will probably be established that Elena will always love both brothers in order to leave an opening for the writers to play with the love triangle again further down the line. I honestly think closure is coming, however temporary, so that all three of those characters can be seen in different situations and relationships. They will drift apart, but not so much that they won't occasionally revisit in some way what they had in the past. Too many people have complained about the love triangle. I don't think it's going to be this intense for very much longer. Did you ever read a book or watch a show or movie, and see changes in the story that leave you with the feeling that something is about to break?

    I thought that the whole "sirebond" had been made clear twice. First, it only happens if the person has feelings BEFORE being turned, and it doesn't mess with the feelings, just with the action, as Tyler explained that he always hated Klaus, and just did the things asked, but never felt anything good for his "sire". And the sire was broken, and Elena was still in love with Damon, so...
    The thing is, Damon is so "out of control" as Stefan was once, the thing is, while Stefan managed to put himself in control, which took years and years, Damon never learned how to control it, he learned how to use it, which can be good or bad. He can stop, if he wants, but he is more impulsive, whether Stefan is very careful, but have a really hard time controlling once he starts.
    I think, once Stefan noted they were friends, and that someone can't be in love and be friends at the same time, he acknowledge thy weren't in love anymore, they had got past those feelings, when Elena and Damon didn't. Cause, if you want to talk sirebond, you need talk the 1.500 years' spell that used to drawn Stefan and Elena together, but like Stefan pointed out, the fell for each other by themselves.
    Point of line, they are even. Now, is not about destiny, is about free will and real feelings. and both couples got a fair shot. Damon and Elena can be toxic, and Stefan Elena can be also. Stefan would do bout anything for Elena as Damon would, Stefan showed he could respect Elena wishes, even it was by letting her die, which, some will argue, not the best case scenario, while Damon would trow himself on fire before letting her die, which, again, not the best case scenario. Damon, Stefan AND Elena would kill for each other, literally. And Elena is able to forgive both brothers for anything they would do. So... both relationships can be toxic, given the chance.
    In my opinion, the Delena one feels more organic and true, cause no relationship is flowers and rainbows, really. couples fight, and those two know ho to fight and how to make peace, you know.
    Others will prefer Stelena, and it's ok. But to say, one is better than other, or this one is healthier, is to be kidding. Those three aren't humans, they're vampires, they are predators, and they live in world that anything can happen. So... Perfect doesn't fit at all.

    It was after Katherine died. Since she was the last human doppleganger alive, I feel that is what set it off and once the second human doppleganger "Tom" whatever the void that sucked Katherine is now able to suck all the other dead.
