  1. I am guessing the ending is big and Quentin get his job back?

  2. A terrific way to kick off the final 5 episodes of the season!

LOL at Oliver getting his father's sloppy seconds.

I loved the introduction of Cisco and Caitlin. They were pretty badass characters from the few scenes we saw of them.

I'm a little bummed out that we didn't get to see the Smoaking Canary hand holding scene like they showed in the promotional photos. Oh well.

Oh shit at Isabel being injected with the Mirakuru! The Ravager is born and Slade is almost done building his army!

Aww at Laurel hugging Oliver and telling him he will always be special to her. I'm happy their friendship is repaired.

Also, I can't stress it enough how little credit the stunt team gets on this show. Seriously, no show even comes close. It is a crime that they didn't get nominated for an Emmy.

  3. Interesting episode,

    - they gave Isabel the backstory of the scorned mistress wich was...not much of a surprise but still effective for the tragedy surrounding the character

    - Laurel being cool about Oliver being Arrow, the contrary of what Slade wanted was achieved. Nice turn of events. I'm actually growing to like Laurel

    - as strange as it sounds: I REALLY enjoyed the prison scenes with Quentin, it showed what a good guy he is, still being nice even though he's in prison. One of the most under appreciated characters.

    - Roy not saying a line, I'm not a huge fan of Colton Haynes acting. But him not having to act this episode helped me survive Caity Lotz' acting. Keep one, get rid of the other. I can't handle both though

    - The Mirakuru army. I'm scared of this, not because it's threatening Team Arrow but rather because i'm afraid that they'll be handled like Buffy did it with the uber vamps. Slade being the stronges but the others being easily taken down by Team Arrow. Let's see what they do with this...

    - So...what did these two Flash characters contribute to the story again other than 'infecting' Arrow with their presence to force theCW to pick up 'The Flash' ?

    - Theas really growing as a character (writing wise, she seems to be going to a really bad place but I like that Willa Holland gets some good material to work with)

To me this episode was surprisingly enjoyable.

One thing though: I doubt that the guy in the Deathstroke armour can move much, this thing seems to extremely limit his movement and frankly I'm missing the original costume they used for Deathstroke, at least it allowed the guy playing Wintergreen to pull some good moves but this suit ?

Also I doubt that it's Manu in this, why would he put himself into that suit ? That was probably a B-Roll stand-in with Manu dubbing it....making me question: why does he have such little screentime ?

  4. Cisco and Caitlin clicked so well for me!!!!!!!!! This season has been absolutely unforgettable!!!!!!! As annoying as I've been with Laurel (like I said she's annoying a lot sometimes), she actually is starting to be less irritating especially with this episode. I'm so glad she did not side with Slade. Slade knows how to play the coolest villain this season! I can't wait for more! I hope that will last because the actress who plays her is good looking!!!

    ReplyDelete
  5. Does Isabel still become part of Slade group and still be CEO of QC I guess we know next episode

    ReplyDelete
  6. Don't forget Felicity know about Iris the girlfriend ! I think she jealous?

    ReplyDelete
  7. Felciity is jealous about the girl Iris and Barry

    ReplyDelete
  8. Oh right yeah, she might be, so much awesomeness in this episode though! The stunts were literally movie good!

    ReplyDelete
  9. Me too! They play well off of each other and as a result, made me even more excited for The Flash. I used to despise Laurel in the beginning of the season (like everyone else) but ever since she found out that Oliver is the Arrow, I don't know she's just been....likeable again hahaha. I loved the scene with her and Sara outside Quentin's room just after he was attacked and the scenes with her and Oliver. I really felt for her.

    ReplyDelete
  10. I like that she try to blackmail the DA again to get her father off the charges...I wish the city would accept the arrow as a hero not a bad guy. They have no idea about Slade and his army!

  11. Pretty good episode that really moved things forward in a number of arcs..

Loved the Deathstroke Team Arrow HQ invasion!
Seriously great fight scenes as usual. Kudos to all involved!

Seeing Roy end up the source of the Mirakuru was sad, but not entirely unexpected I guess. Oliver's decisions come back to haunt him so often that when something goes right I still just assume they will go bad alter.

Is it a bad thing that this episode was the first time I have seen Colton Haynes act as something other than an angsty and brooding teen that is turned into a monster - and it's because he was unconscious? XD

    - Laurel figuring out who Arrow and Canary are has been good for her arc I think! Much less melodrama and it seems to be her moving in a more positive direction in all her relationships...
    - Anyone else amused that so much of Sarah's body is covered in scar tissue but she is still able to rock a sleeveless shirt? XD
    - Laurel starts to be relatively sane and stable again and now we have to deal with Thea going down the melodramatic rabbit hole... Sigh!
    - I for one am incredibly happy Summer Glau's Isabel will now be seen as Ravager!
It means wearing a mask and we won't have to suffer her wooden acting as much!

The Mirakuru cure makes me wonder if Roy will stay superhuman or end up reverting back to normal Roy... And if so will he the superhero training continue...

  12. "- Laurel starts to be relatively sane and stable again and now we have
to deal with Thea going down the melodramatic rabbit hole... Sigh!"

    This! Exactly this.

  13. "- So...what did these two Flash characters contribute to the story again other than 'infecting' Arrow with their presence to force theCW to pick up 'The Flash' ?"

Make Felicity Jealous, that was way more important than the rest :p

    ReplyDelete
  14. Holly sh** how in hell are they going to defeat +20 people on Mirakuru when they cant even make a scratch in one? .... Taht end with Isabel on it was a great way to end the episode.

I t was intense it had everything but now with that cure being introduce i wonder will it be enough to cure all those guys? i just think they willl try it on Roy and noone else.

Laurel was great in the episode, finally she put the pieces together and acted like a grown up about it and didnt went on a rant over it. Quentin as always the good guy he is showing why he is a great character.

Felicity Jealous over Archie's "someting girl" was priceless.

The fights were all great for real the team that choreograph those things are doing a really great job.

    ReplyDelete
  15. I applaud the writers who actually remembered that Thea indeed tried to kiss Tommy back in season one and the writers brought that moment back. Glad it sickened Thea as it sickened most fans once they found out that Thea was Malcolm's biological daughter, lol.

    ReplyDelete
  16. Great episode. I'm kind of bothered by the fact that Felicity has gone from a smart, capable part of the team to someone always jealous or pining for a guy, though.

    ReplyDelete
  17. Kathleen Kervin17 April 2014 at 06:05

I think not jealous, just resigned that she's never going to get a guy. "Even a guy in a coma has moved on."

    ReplyDelete
  18. Yeah I took it as disappointment, not jealousy.
I think she was jealous of Sarah when she came on the scene, but this was not jealousy. Someone can be disappointed without being envious or jealous in my opinion.

Honestly, I think it was more for comic relief than anything.

    ReplyDelete
  19. principe.encantador17 April 2014 at 07:25

I don't think she was jealous, I think she opened her eyes and realized she had false hopes with Barry. She had a disillusion.

    I agree with you.

  21. Good....was this one booooring. Sorry, but did anyone seriously expect Laurel to blow the whistle? That Quentin would stay in prison for long over a nonsensical charge? Speaking of nonsensical: That's NOT how financial matters work. I explained it before, even if the Queen's loose their company, they had to be idiots to get even close too private bankruptcy.
Somewhat high point was the revelation that Thea's adoptive father knew about her true parentage, but naturally it got coupled with the contrivance of Oliver not being able to tell her because something "more important" came up. And wow, Roy being gone did last long....what exactly was the point again? Why didn't they make an episode with people actually searching for Roy? That would have been suspense..but this "look, there he is" was one of the most predictable reveals ever.
Aaaaaand....as little cherry on the top, another "Felicity's complicated love life" scene...good, was putting those people in the show awkward, but it good doubly awkward when it culminated in the suggestion that a guy in a coma just broke up with Felicity (am I the only one who finds the whole thing creepy?).
I know, some people won't like the hear it, but I have noticed a clear pattern this season...the less Laurel, the better the episodes. And I'm not sure how long I'll be able to like Felicity either. What they did to her this season is frustrating. She used to be a great character, but she is becoming more and more the permanent satellite love interest with no agenda on her own.
I really hope that they will go back on track before the season is over...but I see a train wreck in the near future...it's depressing.

    ReplyDelete
  22. Another great episode, and now we have four more episodes in a row and no more breaks until the end of this season :)
I liked seeing Team Arrow fight in this one and I didn't expect Diggle to shoot Isabel and Slade to inject her with the Mirakuru. Maybe she could be his next obsession instead of Shado.
The introduction of the Flash characters was nice and I already know I'm going to watch both Arrow and The Flash next season.
I liked the explanation the show offered to why Quentin doesn't know who the Arrow is. He doesn't want to know and chooses to keep himself in the dark willingly.
Thea has always been one of my favorite characters in this show and I hope she gets a bigger role next season.

OMG!!! This was an awesome episode. I absolutely loved it when they go down into the arrow cave and Slade is there waiting for them, that was the best scene for me. I hope they are able to find a cure but I'm not sure if they will.

I get why Thea is mad and yes she has a right to be but I honestly hope she gets over it and forgives her family.

They did a really good job with Laurel's character tonight, I did not know which way she was going to go until the end. So glad she is on team Arrows side. I mean she could have went bat-shi*t crazy again, and vowed to bring them down, but she didn't she understands what they are doing and why. I feel bad for her dad though he got his ass kicked tonight.

Summer Glau is playing her character very well, except her storyline is so stupid, she wants revenge cause daddy Queen actually chose his own family over her. Woman get over it and find some other billionaire to get with. Her being injected with Mirakuru will be interesting to see.

Not sure about Roy's character since it's been boring, hopefully this is when his character starts to come out.

Overall an amazing episode. The rest will be just as epic I hope.

  24. Laurel was my favorite this episode!

    ReplyDelete
  25. I fear the characters on Arrow are being written poorly of late. Slade just claims something, and people believe. Ollie says something, and Thea, who believed Slade, just believes him. It's the instant belief which is a problem. And don't tell me "Well, Laurel is investigating." It's a laugh a minute investigation.

    ReplyDelete
  26. Isabel isn't seeking revenge. She believes the father chose her. That she was given everything by the dad, just it never got to be stated officially because of what happened. And she thinks Ollie is destroying her company. So she is taking over, to make it great, and she is the only one who cares to do so

    ReplyDelete
  27. Laurel is more or less the only person who could have believed immediately because she suspected it in the past, but no, instead she needs a whole episode with people throwing clues in her direction.

    ReplyDelete
  28. Isabel isn't a scorned mistress. She didn't think the father scorned her. She thinks the dad was giving everything to her but didn't get the chance (death and all) so it is hers by right.

    ReplyDelete
  29. After tonight's episode, I am even more convinced the Flash will be in the finale. The cure will have to be "rushed in" at the end.

    ReplyDelete
  30. But she should have remembered, "My father accused him, but then, the Arrow was clearly somewhere else and so Ollie was freed." Of course anyone could reason out someone else used the hood and pretended to be the Arrow to divert attention, but still, that kind of issue is the kind which would need be addressed.

    ReplyDelete
  31. I'm also suggesting the Flash will be in the last episode. He will awaken before the finale, and he will have to make a rush delivery of the cure once it's been created. It might not be enough for everyone, but it will be used to take out a lot of Slade's army. Plus, the Flash as Flash, if no one else, would be able to take out Slade.

    ReplyDelete
  32. I highly doubt we'll see The Flash this season he'll still be in his coma and he'll be out of it probably October of next year.

    ReplyDelete
  33. We don't even have to see him for him to be in it. But it's being set up for him to have a role.

    ReplyDelete
  34. At least with Thea she has a better reason to be acting the way she's unlike Laurel.

    ReplyDelete
  35. Another expectation for the finale: Slade will be "cured." He will no longer be Super-Powered. But it will not change his desire for revenge. He will remain a villain, but one Arrow can beat (even if any fight between them will not be easy and uncertain as to who will come out on top). This will explain why someone like Robin would eventually be able to beat Slade.

    ReplyDelete
  36. Which also means she will find out who Ollie is, and join in on the crusade, via Roy.

    ReplyDelete
  37. Damn, that ending. Did not see that coming. Oliver is going to be really surprised when he sees her again.

    ReplyDelete
  38. It's never a good sign when Laurel behaves more rationally than everyone else!. I loved the conversation between Laurel and her Dad about not revealing the Arrow's identity and I give Laurel points for actually taking his advice. At the same time, I'm not sure that Laurel's pathway to enlightenment really merited half an episode.

I know that Oliver takes pride in being a man of few words, but someone should tell him that if he tried using longer sentences to explain himself, fewer people would be pissed off with him...namely Thea.
Also, Thea has a right to be mad, but she's directing her anger at the wrong people and will only end up shooting herself in the foot by not signing the documents. . Her annoying response when Oliver told her that her dad knew about Malcolm just made me roll my eyes. I can't believe we have to endure another episode of her angst.

Isobel just needs to get over whatever she's angry about., Or at the very least, start seeing a shrink for her borderline personality disorder. I was really happy to see her die, and then not so happy to see that she wasn't actually dead. I guess we can look forward to an even more robotic version of her character next week.
Slade also needs to get over it; move on with his morbid life and leave Oliver alone. He really needs a double dose of that cure, I think that if he did receive the mirakuru cure, it could make for an interesting redemptive arc.
Barry has game even when he's in a coma! Not even Oliver could pull off that love triangle.

I'm a big fan of Arrow, but I think the plot is getting a bit stale and there hasn't been sufficient character development lately. I also miss the fun/awkward bantering that we used to get between Oliver and Felicity They're really going to have to come up with something fresh to keep things interesting next season. I also think that it's time they started showing less of the Island scenes and more of waht's happening in present times.

    ReplyDelete
  39. Not bad for Arrow. Rose from its last original episode at least in HH ratings.

Over at The CW, “Arrow” was a standout at an above average 2.0/ 3 at 8 p.m., and it led into a 1.4/ 2 (#5) for episode five of drama “The 100” at 9 p.m., which was equal to one week earlier.

    ReplyDelete
  40. I plan on watching The Flash after this wonderful episode!

    ReplyDelete
  41. Good EP. Btw, why do Summer Glau allways get to play overpowered? Like, can't she ever just be a sweet little girl that nobody's experimented on?

    ReplyDelete
  42. Thea may have a reason to be upset but not to the extent to which she has taken this. Her family stood by her at her worst but when they screw up she's ready to write them both off.

She has a mother who loves her, a brother who will bend over backwards for her, and a boyfriend who cared so much about her he was willing to sacrifice his own happiness in an effort to keep her safe. On top of that, she basically stumbled into a career that she's excelling at.

Her life and her problems are very minor compared to most people and certainly compared to most of the characters on this show. If she wants to be mad or disappointed that's fine but Thea needs to get a grip.

    ReplyDelete
  43. ^This. Thea is becoming like Laurel was in the middle of the season. Woe is me etc etc. I hate to even think about the prospect of more of that.

    ReplyDelete
  44. Really? I know Laurel can be excessive at times but seriously? Thea's main issues right now are losing her boyfriend and finding out her family's been lying to her about her father. Most adopted kids might have similar issues but even they come to realize that through it all their family that raised them loved them, especially Mr. Queen and Thea's relationship. They discussed extensively about how he always knew how to talk to her (like the incident about the cat) and that he was the one she was closest to (besides Oliver). Yeah okay, her biological father was a psychotic lunatic and she tried to kiss her half-brother, but one she got over Tommy so not really that big of an issue and two Malcolm didn't raise her so they have no connection besides the fact that they are related biologically. Laurel effing lost her boyfriend/friend right after she cheated on him (yeah I know she doesn't get points for that), the guy she currently wanted to be with is so distant, she blames herself for her friends death, she enters a depression (which happens to a lot of people after losing a loved one so I dont want to hear anything about that), starts drinking and doing drugs to get rid of said pain (again not a plus, but it's realistic and it happens), screws her life up horribly but is managing to bring it back together...I'm tired of hearing Laurel as annoying when quite honestly she's the most REAL character on the show! Kay my rant is done...have a nice day! :)

    ReplyDelete
  45. This.
It all comes off as very self-centered and over dramatic to me.

    ReplyDelete
  46. I swear when Quentyn said he did not want to know the Hood's I was just waiting for Laurel to pause, and then tell him anyway because she wanted to! XD
Good for her for actually listening.

I so agree with you about Isobel. Such a wooden character. At least in a mask I won't have to look at that single expression anymore.

I think it has gotten a little stale too.

I'm not sure I mind the island scenes so much since they are part of how the series formats itself, but I think the wallowing Oliver is getting old. His regret of things done on the island should have run its course now.

I think if they could find a way to show past events and their connection to the present story arc without Oliver going all woe-is-me I would like it more. More action and suspense in the flashbacks, less "If I could only do it over" melodrama....

    ReplyDelete
  47. In the synopsis for 2.21 it says that Felicity and Diggle take drastic measures to stop Oliver from surrendering to Slade. The same synopsis also says that Thea is thinking of leaving Starling City.

I'm hoping that this will mean that Dig and Felicity will let Thea in on Oliver's secret so she can convince Oliver not to surrender to Slade because doing so would likely put an end to Thea's increasingly annoying pity party. Maybe then she'll finally realize what real problems are.

    ReplyDelete
  48. I was thinking that maybe the producers can toss Slade over to Flash and see how he would play out in that universe lol

    ReplyDelete
  49. Arrow was AMAZING!! Can't wait for next week. Loved Quentin giving the speech to Laurel. Loved the action. Loved the Flash characters and the mention of IRIS!!! Loved the flashbacks. Good all around. The beginning was awesome, all of them out on the field. I love those moments...ok I g2g. lol

    ReplyDelete
  50. I don't think that this is really the point. As a child, you trust your parents, no question asked, and if they are seemingly happily married, you can see them as you proof that there is such a thing as perfect trust and true love. If you then figure out that what you believe was a perfect marriage is actually a big lie, it is hard to deal with it. A common reaction is to build a close relationship to your siblings because, well, they grew up with you, they usually know you even better than your parents.
But Thea...she first lost her father, and then lost Walter through divorce (unlike Oliver, she had a close relationship to him, remember), found out that her parents cheated on each other and both lied to him...but it doesn't matter, right, she at least has Oliver back? And a relationship with a boy who is not interested in her money. But then her boyfriend stages a break-up and it turns out that Oliver lied to her, too.
I get where Thea is coming from.
With Laurel...her character is just inconsistently written, and the portrayal of drug abuse ridiculous. It just doesn't work that way.

    ReplyDelete
  51. I guess you would understand it better if you had any idea how it is to get the most basic trust ripped away from you.

    ReplyDelete
  52. I understand what you're saying about Thea's character and I do feel for her, but I also understand where Laurel comes from as well and that was what I was trying to get at. The last episode with Thea really ticked me off along the lines of her response to Oliver after finding out that her dad knew she wasn't his. What most people got out of that was "wow, he knew and he still loved her and he didn't want her to think less of him as a dad because they weren't blood" but all Thea seemed to understand was the lying (which is understandable after looking at this a week later). However, Laurel went through a lot too and quite honestly with what her character has had to deal with the drinking and drug abuse made sense. Maybe it's because of the area I lived in for most of my life, but it just seemed like the most real response a person like Laurel could go for to escape the guilt she's been feeling for Tommy's death and I can't imagine most people being "better" at dealing with the same situation like people claim or seem to allude to by saying she's annoying and "the woe is me crap", well yeah, she doesn't truly know what's going on in the city and the true grandeur of the situation like Oliver and the rest of Team Arrow so her mundane problems are a big deal. Again, most people (if put in the same situation) would most likely do the exact same thing.

    ReplyDelete
  53. Like I said, the problem with Laurel is not that she feels that way, but that they change her character more or less every episode to fit whatever Drama they just want. Thea's trust issue is something which has been built up gradually, and while she did have a problem with Oliver being so different than she remembered, her initial reaction was joy to see him again.
Laurel's alcohol and drug problems (which were portrayed very poorly) came out of nowhere, since up to this point there was no hint whatsoever that she might have a problem with either, quite the opposite in fact. Her turning against the Arrow (and then changing her mind again) is something I already got tired of during the first season, especially since is usually lasted only one episode.
And while I can understand some of Laurel's feelings, there are some I can't understand. I can't understand why the "why is everyone leaving me" speech was including Tommy, I can't understand why she acted so cold towards Sara...yeah, I know, old feelings and all. And I would have totally gotten it if those old feelings had boiled up later on. But that is her first reaction to her sister being still alive?
The problem with Laurel is less the question if her problems are mundane or not, the problem is mostly that her storyline is a mix of inconsistent writing (let's not forget that she always conveniently forgets it when she finds something out, thus making every bit of her storyline more or less mood), contrived drama and an ongoing mismatch between what the writers are telling us about her and what they show us about her on screen. I suspect the investigation was supposed to make her look smart. It actually made her look stupid that she is not able to simply check the dates when Oliver was in the city and line them up with the appearances of the Hood without having to create a whole wand of hints.

    ReplyDelete
  54. Ok, yeah, I understand...they really need to write her character better cuz she could be a total badass character
