Exclusive Video Interview with The Walking Dead's Chandler Riggs

14-year-old Chandler Riggs is getting to be a pro at Comic Con appearances. The young actor, who portrays Carl Grimes on AMC’s “The Walking Dead,” has traveled to Australia, London and Toronto and all across the United States to meet with fans at the popular conventions. This past weekend he attended the Salt Lake Comic Con where he graciously took time between signing autographs and snapping pictures to speak with SpoilerTV.

Riggs is currently on hiatus from the popular zombie series. He’s been spending his time in school and playing video games. But he begins filming season five in just three weeks. Don’t expect him to give any clues as to what happens in the new season, though. That’s because he doesn’t even know himself.

“I haven’t gotten the scripts for the next season yet,” Riggs tells us. “I really don’t know so we’ll see. I want to know what happens, too.”

The teen says he’s enjoyed the fan response to the season four finale. “They’ve loved it. They thought it was awesome and I’m glad because we put a lot of hard work into it.”

As for that shocking scene where Rick bites a man’s neck, Riggs says, “That was interesting to watch. I had a guy on top of me at the time so I didn’t really get to see the whole thing. But I got to see the tail end of it and it was pretty cool.”

The young actor relished the opportunity this year to show off his range in scenes where Carl yells at his unconscious father. But Riggs let us in on a little secret. “It was funny because that entire episode I was used to not having that many lines and just learning them on the set. While I was getting wired that day, I pulled out my sides and realized I had two and a half pages of lines to memorize – in about an hour. That was really interesting. But I was able to charge my way through that and get it done.”

Riggs tells us he especially loves working with “Andy” Lincoln, who plays Rick. He says though the overall tone of “The Walking Dead” set is somewhat serious, they do have fun and crack jokes every now and then.

For fans, a chance to meet Riggs in Salt Lake was one of the highlights of the convention. Riggs had a consistently long line throughout the three-day event. The actor wants fans to know he appreciates their support. In fact, he offers them a direct message: “I just thank you guys so much for supporting me and for everything you guys have done for me. It’s been awesome.”

Every day 100's of items are submitted to us and we don't always have the time to make separate posts for the news and/or there is so much that it would quickly push all other items off the homepage.

So a result we've come up with the idea of the Newsreel, which will feature smaller shows and news items as they happen.

There will be a new Newsreel each day, and as news is added we will update the post and and push it back to the top of the site so that you can see that new items have been added. A tweet of the item will also be sent to our @SpoilerTV account.

New Items will be listed at the top of the article.

This will allow us to provide more news on more shows in a much more timely fashion
About Movie News Roundup

Rather that creating lots of new posts as new info is released and fragmenting the commentary, we thought it would be a good idea for the upcoming major movies to create a single post for each major movies that will collate all the info as it's posted.

New items will be added to the top of the list as well as the post being re-posted back to the top of the homepage when a new item is added. We will additionally send out a fresh tweet alerting you of the new information.

This will allow you to bookmark this page so that you can return to it whenever you like. It will also help consolidate all the discussion on this movie in a central place and make it less likely that you'll miss some key information.
