American Horror Story - Season 4 - Carnival/Circus Setting

17 Mar 2014

Remember those creepy/brilliant-looking American Horror Story: Circus drawings that made their way around the internet last year? Apparently, they were on to something.

“It doesn’t have a title, but that’s the idea,” American Horror Story scribe Douglas Petrie confirmed during the Nerdist Writers Panel podcast when a co-panelist asked if “carnival” would be the theme. ”Very roughly, that’s the idea.”

Creator Ryan Murphy already announced that Season 4 will take place in the 1950s, but this is the first official confirmation of the circus aspect.

  2. I kinda expected that. I'd love AHS to go down the vampire route tough, not the 'Originals' or 'True Blood' route but the classic Nosferatu one

  6. So Ryan Murphy lied.

    From an EW interview:

People seem to really want American Horror Story: Circus.I saw those posters. I don’t know where people came up with that idea. Sometimes I think its people wanting us to do topics and doing fan posters. No one has completely guessed what it is.

  19. Does anyone remember how Ryan Murphy denied this? HA! I had a feeling this would be it regardless of what he said.

I remember when Ryan Murphy said that Kathy Bate's character was set to be the best friend of Jessica Lange's character, and then become mortal enemies in Coven. I don't remember that happening...

Besides, didn't Ryan Murphy say it WASN'T circus/carnival? ...Ha, wait. Ryan Murphy. Right.

That sucks, was it thanks to It Movie?

  24. Yeah, plus many others :D And when I was little I saw this drunk clown in circus who was breaking all the stuff around him and it seemed really scary at that time. I guess it stayed with me this whole time.
