Michael Grassi has replaced Emily Andras (who ran seasons 3 and 4 of Lost Girl) as showrunner for Season 5.
Andras will remain a part of the Lost Girl team and has written episode 5.02.

  1. Thank god! Emily Andras was awful.

  2. Maybe this means we'll get some decent storylines in season 5!! We live in hope :)

  3. Ok, i don't really know if this is good or bad but if the season 4 was written by this Emily then i'm happy. The season was well not awful but let's say bad.

  4. Hopefully this is a good thing!

  5. This is a great improvement for the series direction, but for a slight case of "To Little, To Late"! How does a new show runner undo the damage/ruin done to the characters/relationships left in Emily Andras wake? Believe it or not I (Nobody) really wish that Michael Grassi can pull a "Miracle" out of thin air.............Lost Girl Fandom knows how much I miss Lost Girl (Season 1), Doccubus, Kenzibus (RIP), and the talented Zoie Palmer! 4 THE VERY LAST PALMERIST, I will still be Nobody!!!

  6. As long as trying to be serial series season 4 doesn't happen. Just leave it a good mix like season 1-3

I still Hope next season Dyson and Lauren stay away a bit from Bo.... Not... my hope of that was stupidly crushed in the season finally when all of a sudden they forgave when they said at least one of them that they wouldn't.

  7. Hardly surprising given the horrendous mess Seasons 3 & 4 were with her in charge. Not to sound sexist or anything but does anyone besides me feel that some of the male writers have a better grip on the mythology of the series and don't delve into the 'Shipper pleasing Rabbit hole'?

  8. FYI saying "not to sound sexist or anything' followed by a devaluation of a person based on gender still makes you sexist.

  9. In Emily Andras’s defense, which a lot of you are forgetting,
as I listen to you go on and on about how wonderful season 1 - 3 was, wrote two
episodes in season 1 which were episodes 5 & 7. In Season 2 she wrote 4
    episodes which were 4, 9, 17 & 21 and in season 3 she wrote episodes 1
& 13, all of which were darn good. In season 4 she wrote episodes 1 &
13 and co-wrote episode 8 but Michael Grassi who is season 5’s new show runner
wrote episodes 4, 7 & 10. After rethinking EA’s roll in LG vs. the fandom’s
outrage against her S4’s work as show-runner and writer, I can honestly and
objectively say she isn’t entirely to blame. Season 4 had some inconsistencies
but the previous seasons were written and ran well. It’s amazing how no one
complained about her being the show-runner whenever she placated to their ships.
If you are able to be objective you would be able to see that she is a damn
good writer and deserves that to be stated about her. She wasn’t a bad show-runner
either. What I think happened to her was that her own ambition and ego got in
the way of some of the storylines in Season 4, which wasn’t a total bust but
needed more time to tie up loose ends or storylines that she began and simply
didn’t have enough time to finish telling. I chose to believe that Michael
Grassi will do great and her collaboration will be an asset when assisting the
LG series. Whatever they do if it doesn’t please me and/or you exercise your
power by picking up the remote to watch another channel but the constant
complaining gets old after a while. Season 5 won’t debut until this fall and
already people are complaining about Michael Grassi…. It’s just crazy… smh

  10. I don't know if that's good or bad... Hopefully it's good. I loved a lot of Emily Andras work. And season 3 is my favorite season yet.

  11. The whole Dybo vs. Doccubus rivalry really perplexes the hell out of me. I just don't get it!!! Common sense should tell the viewers that if they are writing a character where she feeds off of sexual encounters in order to heal and and stay alive, then how in the world can she be monogamous. It's better that she be with both Lauren and Dyson, not to mention that her heart is tied to the both of them in a romantic relationship wise. Being with just Lauren won't sustain her it'll kill her. That was one of the reasons why Lauren said to her you have to feed in order to live. I get the fact that Lauren didn't want her to be with Dyson but perhaps, she'll rethink that in S5 given the fact that her and Dyson has become friends. Like you Ine I like the mix up. No one in life stays the same that would defeat growth. Kenzi is an example of that. Look at her character growth from S1-S4. The transformation is so great. She has come into her maturation and so must the other characters. Plain and simple.

  12. If the new showrunner doesn't believe that "logic is the enemy of plot" maybe there's hope yet. But frankly after holding on to hope since Lovretta left, I gave up on the idiocy part way through this season. Although, nothing will save them if Ksenia isn't coming back.

  13. Yes EA wrote some great single episodes but she was an awful show runner. The episodes she wrote in seasons 1 & 2 were assigned to her, someone else said write about this and she did. Then that someone else edited what she did. In season's 3 & 4 when she had no one to police her she threw the show in the trash. She doesn't understand the basic tenets of writing a sci-fi show, threw out the show rules from season 1, can't self edit ideas and can't write an over reaching arc to save her life. Looking at her IMDB resume it's not her fault because she only wrote for teen dramas. It seems to me that season 1 & 2 had a lot of people with sci-fi, strong female lead and genre experience and they all left to pursue other projects (orphan black and the secret circle) and left EA to muddle through a job she was unqualified for.

I personally was hoping that since Being Human US was ending LG would hire their showrunner to take over being that that team also ran the first few seasons of Supernatural and knows how to write a UF type show.

Jay Firestone has final say on script content. If he thought she was doing such a crappy job, he should have replaced her as showrunner much sooner.
