  1. Interesting that OUAT is going to go with the Oz books more so than the movie. I had totally forgotten that they were silver slippers in the book (although now that I think about it there were silver in The Wiz as well).

  2. I really want to read the Oz books now, because of OUAT and Emerald City. I never wanted to before (liked the movie) but this is making me change my mind.

  3. Looking forward to meeting King Frederick. This season is heavy on the parent/child theme. Makes me want to see Nick's mom again soon.

  4. Arrow doesn't need more fuel for the anti-Laurel fire. It seems close to self-sustaining at this point. This spoiler makes Laurel seem petty. When does this long-fabled "rock bottom" hit for Laurel so the show can start turning this crap around?

  5. The book is pretty awesome. As a kid, I never quite got behind the movie, but I really enjoyed the book.

  6. Mostly the way they're writing Laurel makes Laurel seem petty.

  7. I actually just found the whole collection on Amazon for 99 cents (for the Kindle) and snapped it up (along with Alice in Wonderland, which was the same price). Have to read the Game of Thrones series (pretty far along in the first book) first but the Oz books are next!

  8. I think that's too narrow of a descriptor. In a lot of respects, they're purposely writing Laurel to be awful. I get that they're doing the whole 'tear her down to build her back up' thing but they may have done too good of a job with the tearing down part. I'm seriously wondering if enough viewers will actually buy into her impending redemption now.

  9. The problem is that there is already a version of the Black Canary which is very popular. As long as Laurel is around, the audience will never feel sure that Sara will stay - and if they kill off Sara, just so that Laurel can take her place eventually, the reaction will be worse when Tommy died because Laurel was to stupid to leave the Glades after having been warned no less than four times to stay away.
So, no, I don't think that enough viewers will buy into her redemption - why take her if you can already have someone better in the role of the Black Canary?

  11. Sara's presence on Arrow and the impact she has on the viewer's perception of Laurel is a separate issue from how the producers of this show are choosing to portray Laurel and how deep into the negative column they're willing to go with the character before turning her around.

  12. Well i kinda agree. I feel Laurel rather Sara be dead too. I mean maybe it was just that overwhelming moment she had. But the specific things she said. It's like Sara is screwed with Laurel dead or alive. Sara can't/won't win with Laurel. On another note glad Sara is staying around.

So with Glee, i'm happy it's not Rachel, which is what i thought. To my surprise it'sTina. Tina and Sam? Eww. I don't see that at all. Oh god. I'd rather Tina and Blaine have a make out scene. (even tho he's gay, it could make sense like Will and Grace).

TB- Arlene with a new love interest....I don't like it at all. Especially if it's a James lookalike. (rolls eyes). And Arlene has ALWAYS hated Vamps. (even though she's grown used them a lot more) her having a fling with some new band leader James substitute seems really really really OUT of her character and complete bullshit.

I'm looking forward to Ralph's tribute on Bones. Sigh...R.I.P. Pops.

  13. I don't think so...if there was ever a hope that there was a chance to turn Laurel's character around eventually it died the moment Sara showed the audience what could be. And at this point I have the feeling that the writers don't really have much of an interest in salvaging Laurel. They seem to be more intend to rewrite the past in a way which makes Sara look less bad for going after Oliver (not that the character needs this...after all those years, she is an entirely different person either way. If we can forgive Oliver for being a brat in the past, we certainly can forgive Sara. When it comes to which character is more likable, it is the present which counts).

  14. Sara is not the nail in Laurel's coffin, as many are hoping she is. As always, the character's fate rests with what the Arrow producers choose to do with her. Until there's more evidence of the Arrow team changing their minds about the long-term plan for Laurel other than a feeling, I'm inclined to continue taking them at their word regarding what's in store for the character.

  15. Well, the feelings are based on the way they are currently rewriting the past...it is one thing to let Laurel hit rock bottom but another thing to make her past self look bad. It is more the less the opposite from the way they portrayed her in season one, when she was the girl which was way too good for Oliver. They had a big speech in the season finale that Laurel was the one who truly saw the good in him...now she is shown as someone who didn't see Oliver at all but was instead planning their future with barely any input from him. That is quite a shift, and at this point the only purpose seems to be to elevate Sara.

  16. Everything Laurel is doing and saying right now is through a near-constant haze of booze and pills so unless she comes out of that and still maintains the same attitude toward Oliver and Sara I'm not willing to put a whole lot of legitimacy into her words/actions.

  17. I wonder how many little Derek's could be out there? And I'm not as sure as some folks are about Callie and Arizona's relationship..
