Ah, that spoiler for the Teen Wolf finale scares me.
ReplyDeleteThe Vampire Diaries: So there's going to be a war between witches and travelers. I've been sort of wondering if Celeste on TO might have made herself a traveler by leaving her life force behind. I don't understand how she could have been "resurrected" in other people's bodies so many times. What she did before she died could get her brought back once, but not at least five times in one century, and possessing different women. Maybe it's just a new witch mythology that can only be seen in New Orleans. I don't understand what doppelgangers have to do with the war, other than the fact that their blood can be used to create more powerful spells when witches and travelers are fighting. People might want to take their blood by force, or worse, sacrifice them. Part of me hopes that Elena is in someone else's body and Katherine is the one who gets caught in the middle of this. So many fans declare that Elena is annoying, but she's always been one of my favorite characters.
ReplyDeleteSo The Vampire Diaries chooses to introduce and explore a war between travelers and witches when, for the first time in the show's history, none of TVD's main characters are witches? Seems like another solid, well thought out decision by the TVD people. *rolls eyes*
ReplyDeleteI totally agree with you on all of this! This is a very good thought. And yeah, Elena's always been one of my favorites too. I don't know why people give her so much grief.
ReplyDeleteMaddox was able to put Klaus in Alaric and Bonnie was able to put Klaus into Tyler - neither one of them were presented as being Travelers. Esther was never presented as being a Traveler and she was able to take over Rebekah's body.
ReplyDeleteI don't get how there is a war between withes and Travelers when there aren't even any witches around. All the witches (except maybe the new girl LIv) we've seen this season have been Travelers including Silas & Tessa.
It looks like another witch is going to show up, and most likely more of them after that. Right now we're looking at the arc about Katherine. If anything, the absence of witches among the main characters could be more about their struggle not to get caught in the middle of the war. I'm pretty sure someone they care about will turn out to be on one side. Bonnie was a witch before she was the anchor, so she might actually feel tested when it comes to witches being in danger, even though she'll be incapable of helping them without any powers. There's also the role that doppelgangers will end up playing, which seems more dangerous than actually taking a side.
