  1. I like how nobody disliked Tatiana Maslany but who would? She's an amazing actress.

    ReplyDelete
  2. seriously where is Kerry Washington?

    ReplyDelete
  3. recheck the list, ten people disliked her

    ReplyDelete
  4. she's on there you must have missed her

    ReplyDelete
  5. How is Jessica Lange #23 and Emily Deschanel #8?

    ReplyDelete
  6. Julianna Margulies, Claire Danes, Vera Farmiga, Jessica Lange and Mariska Hargitay <3

    ReplyDelete
  7. They did? Well, not before I made the comment lol

    ReplyDelete
  8. Why so many dislikes by a lot of great actresses? I don't understand that.

    ReplyDelete
  9. Jessica Lange, Vera Farmiga, Claire Danes, Nicole Beharie, Lisa Kudrow, Keri Russell, Kerry Washington!!!!!!!! So many great choices!

    ReplyDelete
  10. I guess rabid fans of a particular actress simply downvote everyone else, which is a little sad.

    ReplyDelete
  11. Lana Parrilla, Julianna Margulies and Tatiana Maslany!

    ReplyDelete
  12. Wow lots of talent here..
Claire Danes, Tatiana Maslany, Lucy Liu, Stana Katic, Lana Parilla, Nina Dobrev, Kerry Washington, Emilia Clarke, Cobie Smulders, Sara Ramirez, Sofia Vergara, Julie Bowen, Olivia Munn..they're all so great.

I'd like to add Michelle Fairley, Patricia Heaton, Bellamy Young, Taraji Henson ( :(..), Lena Dunham too..

    ReplyDelete
  13. Feel free to click the Add button at the bottom of the Widget to add your own choices if you feel they warrant it :)

    ReplyDelete
  14. It is pretty sad. I think I only handed out 1 or 2 down votes and that's only because they were above a lot of people I personally thought were a lot better actresses.

    ReplyDelete
  15. Yep, I very rarely downvote either.

    ReplyDelete
  16. I love alot of the actresses on tv today, but im going to base it on their performance as that character, and not including their other work.
For example, i would Toni Collette is one of the best actresses going around in whatever she does - film, tv, stage, music. However, i believe the best leading actresses on tv is Sara Ramirez. Her connection with her character Callie is phenominal.

    ReplyDelete
  17. For me it would have to be Stana Katic first, Tatiana Maslany second, Julianna Margulies third, I'm most impressed by them at the moment but there are some really good mentions through out the list and some really bad actresses (in my opinion). Other favourites I wish were a bit higher just because of current and previous work would include Lauren Graham, Missy Peregrym, Emily Rose, Connie Britton and Keri Russell just to name a few.

    ReplyDelete
  18. My top picks for drama: Tatiana Maslany, Claire Danes, Emilia Clarke, Keri Russell
My top picks for comedy: Amy Poehler, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Courtney Cox

    ReplyDelete
  19. Stana Katic, Lana Parrilla and Tatiana Maslany are my three top favourite actresses. Love them!

    ReplyDelete
  20. A lot of these women aren't 'lead' actresses by any stretch of the imagination and are clearly supporting.

    ReplyDelete
  21. Grace Park is listed as a lead actress? Anyway,i voted for Claire Danes, Lana Parrilla,Tatina Maslany and Emilia Clarke. Oh and Stana.

    ReplyDelete
  22. Did that a while ago, waiting for them to be added :)

    ReplyDelete
  23. Ah cool. I've noticed that sometimes they don't add very well or quickly

    ReplyDelete
  24. There are so many are great actresses: Kerry Washington, Lana Parilla, Stana Katic, Tatiana Maslani, Emília Clarke, Connie Britton, Julia Louis Dreyfus, Jessica Lange, Claire Danes, Vera Farmiga, ...
It is just silly that people downvote good actresses in order for their own favorite to win....

    ReplyDelete
  25. Emily Deschanel is my favorite, but Ginny Goodwin and Stana are a close 2nd. :)

    ReplyDelete
  26. Tatiana Maslany

    ReplyDelete
  27. Lana Parrilla and Julianna Margulies are in a league of their own. Both are exceptionally talented and versatile and can shine in every scene and any genre, any character. They're without a shadow of a doubt the two most brilliant TV leading ladies in current shows. But if I was forced to choose who's the very best, I'd say Lana deserves the crown more. ;)

    ReplyDelete
  28. Yeah but they're added now, so yeah. :D

    ReplyDelete
  29. Devon Maxwell-Pierce4 December 2013 at 15:19

This is a fun concept, but it kinda makes us all catty, lol. "Mine are losing. Down vote! Down vote!"

    ReplyDelete
  30. This poll and the behavior that comes with it brings a quote to mind.....

"Some men just like to watch the world burn"

    ReplyDelete
  31. I voted for too many to list them all... one thing I have to note, though: how on earth do my Nikita gals Maggie Q and Lyndsy Fonseca have more downvotes than upvotes? These ladies kick ass both literally and figuratively. This is so wrong.

    ReplyDelete
  32. How is this any different from USDP except weekly

    ReplyDelete
  33. You know something's wrong when Jessica Lange, Claire Daines, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Vera Farmiga, Julie Bowen are not in the Top 10.

    ReplyDelete
  34. Somehow, none of the actresses I really like - Bree Turner, Marsha
    Thomason, Ashley Judd, Beth
    Riesgraf, Louise
    Brealey, Gina
Torres, Katheryn Winnick, Katie McGrath, Diane Carrol - made the list. To be fair, none of them have currently a lead role, but neither have most of the actresses who are on the list.

    ReplyDelete
  35. It's a totally different widget/format.

Users can add their own if they find any missing. Up and Down vote on unlimited entries.

USDP is simply a poll selected at random from our readers.

    ReplyDelete
  36. Emily VanCamp, Claire Danes, Madeline Stowe, Amy Poheler, Lana Parrilla, and that's just to start. There are so many talented actresses in televsion right now!

    ReplyDelete
  37. Technically we shouldn't have Taraji P Henson on there..

    ReplyDelete
  38. number one is Stana Katic than Robin Tunney, Mariska Hargitay and Julianna Margulies

    ReplyDelete
  39. I tried to add Elizabeth Mitchell, Rachel from Revolution to the list but if i refresh the page she disappears.

    ReplyDelete
  40. I added her a few hours ago, but she's not on the list now. :(

    ReplyDelete
  41. Ceci Bibbó Pollio4 December 2013 at 20:09

Jessica Lange and Michelle Fairley for me!

    ReplyDelete
  42. I voted Lana Parilla, Jennifer Morrison, Jessica Lange, and Claire Danes. I'm surprised Claire isn't higher up, she's an amazing actress. It's okay though, she gets the Emmy's, it gives others their time to shine.

    ReplyDelete
  43. Lana and Stana!!! I love them both so much, and they're both at the top. But Lana Parrilla has just absolutely charmed me so much and basically changed everything I thought I knew about acting. She's brilliant! =)

    ReplyDelete
  44. That only makes the poll pointless tbh.

    ReplyDelete
  45. Interesting... Only two of the actresses on this list have a positive vote differential. Anyone have any idea why that may be?

    ReplyDelete
  46. I loved Lana in Boomtown all those years ago but didn't keep up with any of her other work. She has definitely won me over again with this role. I'm still all for Stana though, cause I love an actress who can combine the emotions of drama with a bit of humour,

    ReplyDelete
  47. She's not on the list not a leading actress at the moment but Amy Acker has been my favourite actress since Angel and i still think she is the most under rated actress on tv

    ReplyDelete
  48. Ceci Bibbó Pollio4 December 2013 at 22:55

    And Mary McDonnell too! ;)

    ReplyDelete
  49. It's sad. Very sad

    ReplyDelete
  50. They're both wonderful actresses who deserve far more recognition than they get. And that's so cool you remember Lana from back then! That was a decade ago. Not many people know her from before OUAT. It's a shame Boomtown didn't stay on, though. I only just watched the series last year, and it had a lot of potential.

    ReplyDelete
  51. Yes! All three of them are amazing. Love Castle, OUAT, and Orphan Black. :)

    ReplyDelete
  52. I like Emily Deshanel, Zooet Deschanel and Mariska Hargitay

    ReplyDelete
  53. I agree about Julianna Marguilies being terrific. But I can think of a lot of actresses on TV that are better than Lana Parrilla

    ReplyDelete
  54. A lot of great actresses on this list. My top ones would be:
    Tatiana Maslany
    Claire Danes
    Kerry Washington
    Kerry Russell
    Sofia Vergara
    Juliana Marguiles
    Vera Farmighia
    Melissa McCarthy
    Elizabeth MItchell

    ReplyDelete
  55. Wow. Can we just kill this poll? Too many trolls have down voted on it.

    ReplyDelete
  56. Horrible picture of Madeleine Stowe, Victoria from Revenge. I didn't even recognize her the first time

    ReplyDelete
  57. For me and i'm pretty sure for most people, unless they hack the poll, it only lets you vote once. Just because you don't like the results doesn't mean they are wrong. Lana has a huge following and this site has a huge castle fanbase.Personally I wouldn't put them as my top 2 but it makes sense why they are up there.

    ReplyDelete
  58. Oh I'm not talking about the top. I'm talking about how every actress has an awful lot of negative votes. That's trolling it. They don't have to hack, they can find a way around it.

    ReplyDelete
  59. Jennifer Morrison
    Tatiana Maslany
    Lucy Liu

    ReplyDelete
  60. Lana Parrilla!!, Jessica Lange, Vera Farmiga and Tatiana Maslany

    ReplyDelete
  61. I thought Boomtown was really good, but the format was a bit strange.

    ReplyDelete
  62. Yey! Lana and Stana are on top of the list! And Jennifer Morrison is the 5th :)

    ReplyDelete
  63. Well, that's simple - take away the down vote option. Fans would only vote for the ones they truly like that problem solved :)

    ReplyDelete
  64. The format was strange, but I kind of liked it that way. It made the show unique and made for better reveals. :)

    ReplyDelete
  65. That was my thought, but unfortunately the greater audience didn't agree. What network was it on back then? I watched it when I still lived in South Africa and didn't have access to websites like this.

    ReplyDelete
  66. NBC, I believe. At least that's what was on my season 1 DVD set.

    ReplyDelete
  67. Jéssica Silveira Gandara5 December 2013 at 19:59

Oh come on! Angela Bassett and Jessica Lange are godesses! Not to mention Claire Danes - to see that woman ranked so low is insulting. I like OUAT, but ranking Jennifer Morrison in the top 10 is ridiculous.

    ReplyDelete
  68. is it me or are there just too many downvotes for each actress?

    ReplyDelete
  69. Sandra Oh is particularly outstanding! Good call with Lana Parilla too.

Not sure how Jennifer Morrison is up there, she is one of the most wooden actresses I've ever watched.

    ReplyDelete
  70. Just added Bree Turner, Claire Coffee and Bitsie Tulloch to the list for Grimm fans :)

    ReplyDelete
  71. Nguyễn Thị Như Ý6 December 2013 at 13:53

I like Lana Parrilla (I Love Regina Mills )

    ReplyDelete
  72. LurvingDr.LaurenLewis7 December 2013 at 04:34

does anyone know how this silly thing works.. people with less votes are ranked higher

    ReplyDelete
  73. Michael Pantoustier7 December 2013 at 20:04

Sandra Oh, Emily VanCamp, Madeleine Stowe, Claire Danes, Julianna Margulies, Vera Farmiga are currently the best actresses (no specific order)

    ReplyDelete
  74. LurvingDr.LaurenLewis7 December 2013 at 21:22

I don't get this so someone that has 150 votes can beat someone that has 2000. And if you enter a name it goes in the top of list, so if you add someone like on last day, they will win. And why aren't the numbers changing? I voted for some like 50 times in an hour but the number is still the same. This is useless.

    ReplyDelete
  75. 1) You can only vote once per person
    2) The number position is calculated by both the number of Up votes and Down Votes.

    ReplyDelete
  76. tried to add Wendy Moniz to the list but didnt work ;(

    ReplyDelete
  77. She's showing for me, trying pressing refresh again

    ReplyDelete
  78. Any way we can add Sarah Rafferty?

    ReplyDelete
  79. Just click the Add Item button at the bottom of the list.

    ReplyDelete
  80. Perhaps it would've been better for this ranking to be based on positive opinion only, rather than the positive/negative ratio, because the results are quite arbitrary. Could the next poll have up votes only?

    ReplyDelete
  81. We don't control the widget, it's run by a company called Ranker.

    ReplyDelete
  82. disqus_BLvd5NQY3F7 December 2013 at 23:36

Monica Raymund and Lauren German from Chicago Fire

    ReplyDelete
  83. Loooove Kristin Kreuk, Claire Danes, Emilia Clarke, and Zooey Deschanel.
Sofia Vergara is pretty funny as well...

    ReplyDelete
  84. Amy Acker trumps the lot then i would vote Kristen Bell

    ReplyDelete
  85. Also because some it these people on your list a mostly supporting players

    ReplyDelete
  86. A good portion of these actresses (as good as they may be) aren't lead actresses currently on TV, unless there are a bunch of shows out there that I've never heard of.

    ReplyDelete
  87. JustKeepSwimming8 December 2013 at 12:29

Hate how people down-vote good actresses just so their favorite can get to the top..

    ReplyDelete
  88. JustKeepSwimming8 December 2013 at 12:42

I take it your being sarcastic? ;)

    ReplyDelete
  89. JustKeepSwimming8 December 2013 at 12:43

It lets you vote once PER ACTRESS, you mean?

    ReplyDelete
  90. JustKeepSwimming8 December 2013 at 12:45

Actresses with more up-votes than down-votes are ranked higher :)

    ReplyDelete
  91. Luciana Winchester8 December 2013 at 13:13

    Robin Tunney

    ReplyDelete
  92. ROBIN TUNNEY <3

    ReplyDelete
  93. When does voting for this end?
At the top it says it was posted yesterday but there are comments on on it from 4 days ago haha. :)

    ReplyDelete
  94. The queen who possessed every soul of every character.
    One and only:
ROBIN TUNNEY. Forever and ever, and ever, and ever. <3

    ReplyDelete
  95. Somebody added Emily Mortimer twice

    ReplyDelete
  96. Thanks, I've removed the duplicate.

    ReplyDelete
  97. I tried. It wouldn't let me add.

    ReplyDelete
  98. LOL i think they dislike her after you post ur comment :D

    ReplyDelete
  99. Lana Parrilla hands down is the best.

    ReplyDelete
  100. I know technically they are tv shows but i don't think soap opera actresses should be on her. This list is getting ridiculous

    ReplyDelete
  101. I think it didn't work because I can't see them. You added them 2 days ago, so this thing must have worked wrong...

    ReplyDelete
  102. Ok who downvoted me reveal yourselves this list is clear for people under the age of 20

    ReplyDelete
  103. What show is she from?

    ReplyDelete
  104. Thank you :DD

    ReplyDelete
  105. Choose the wonderful Sasha Alexander not only is she a talented actress she's a great to support to a lot of charities and is kind and generous to her friends

    ReplyDelete
  106. So many people hate Alison Brie for some reason. Probably related to why there seems to be so much opposition to the Jeff/Annie pairing on community.

    ReplyDelete
  107. Stana Katic without issue.

    ReplyDelete
  108. Megan Boone should be a lot higher than #115

    ReplyDelete
  109. Delightful Robin Tunney! :D

    ReplyDelete
  110. I voted for Robin Tunney. She is great. I think I've misunderstood the voting system. That you could only vote once I haven't voted ant thumbs down don't want to. I'm sure in different peoples opinions all these ladies are great.

    ReplyDelete
  111. If you think Robin Tunney ain't phenomenal you should watch her independent films.
I promise you jaw dropping performances with not a hint of Lisbon, it will surprise you.
Now THAT is how you define an excellent artist.

For the umpteenth times, Robin Tunney all the way. YOU GO GIRL.

    ReplyDelete
  112. Havent heard of over 1/2 of these people
How are Mayim Bialik, Melissa Rauch, Maggie Lawson or Rachel Nichols not on the list?

    ReplyDelete
  113. No one's added them yet. It's a user curated list, if you see something missing then you add it yourself

    ReplyDelete
  114. I tried to do that, then it asked me to "log into ranker via facebook, twitter or G+" & I have no interest in connecting any of those accounts to Ranker. Oh well.

    ReplyDelete
  115. Exactly! I watched around 30 movies/shows with her and she's just always so different. It's amazing! She's incredibly talanted!!!

    ReplyDelete
  116. Really can not down vote anyone here. they are all amazing actresses.

    ReplyDelete
  117. Devon Maxwell-Pierce8 April 2014 at 07:13

To me, Lucy Liu has been an amazing surprise in Elementary. I never knew she was so nuanced as an actor. Maybe part of it is her chemistry with Jonny Lee Miller, but I completely buy them in their roles.
