  1. Fanpandering? Yeah, because it's absolutely impossible for two people who spend most of their day together to fall for each other. That's not a natural progression at all, it's just pandering.

Or hey, we can jump to the logical conclusion and accept that these two understand each other in ways nobody else does, and that understanding brings with it developing attachments, which then brings developing feelings.

So what sounds more likely? Paranoid delusions about pandering, or human nature?

  2. why on earth do CW like to use love triangle to run their shows ? I use to love reign but if they put Bash and Mary together, I'm done with this show . they must certainly find something else to entertain us !

  3. Well...it's the CW. Complaining about love triangles on that network is like going to a desert and complaining about the heat. If you don't like the heat, going to a desert is not the wisest idea. If you don't like love triangles, then maybe you should have thought of that before watching anything on the CW. That's been their thing for a long time now. It's not a secret at all.

Target demographics. So far CW has yet to have a show without it

  5. I know it doesn't help to complain about that . But , It's annoying to begin a tv show, to like it and then some useless (non-sense) love triangle appear and destroy everything you like about the show . Then you have ( sometimes ) to choose between people which one you want to date the girl . So useless :(

  6. I can't look at the link, for some reason, so here's the deal; I'll make a prediction:

The Arrow spoiler is about Olliver and Felicity hooking up. Correct?

I'm not even a fan of Arrow, yet even I know about the whole Olliver/Felicity deal that everyone loves. So, IF my prediction is correct, then yes, it is fan-pandering, the proof of which is that I can predict it based on fan reaction. However, if I'm wrong, if it's ANYTHING ELSE but that, then I'll say it's not fan-pandering.

Its not even that. THe spoiler is about Barry's(Flash's) sole purpose in the team being to make Olliver jealous. They are stuffing that bs into EVERYTHING in the show and they are seemingly incapable of subtlety about it.

Felicity has NEVER Been shown as anything more than a friend to him. Its not about "understanding". She was the "no this is wrong" moral compass. THe show threw that away in order to add her to already way too big harem of Oliver.

  9. From what I remember, Oliver was WAY more of a playboy in the comics. They've actually toned him down for the tv series. And I'm starting to wonder if you're even watching the show if you think Felicity has only been a friend to him. Hell, she spent the majority of the first season openly attracted to him.

And I do mean openly, it wasn't vague in the slightest. Almost all of her "slips of the tongue" involved her attraction in some way to Oliver. This isn't a new development for season 2 because they decided to "pander" to the fans. It's been going on since before she ever became a regular. But this season they've spent a lot more time together and it's becoming more and more difficult for them to just write off their feelings for each other.

Oliver is closer to Felicity than anyone else on the show. He's reached that point where she's very important to him. But because he also has eyes, he's attracted to her as well. There's a HUGE fine line between pandering and progression of events. They're getting closer as time goes on because they understand each other, they're there for each other and they're forming a strong bond.

Now, I am well aware that just because two people grow close that doesn't mean they should get together, but the odds are in favor that they will. It's human nature.

  10. Its not just the cw i hate with a passion when people say that.At least they don't have homersexual relationships on this network

    ReplyDelete
  11. To be honest I wish they did. It's always a pleasure to make closed minded idiots uncomfortable.

  12. Homersexual? As in Homer Simpson? Love that guy.

  13. Most likely for the same reason I can't either...there is some sort of advertising on the site which causes my computer to automatically block it.
I am not sure if you can call it fan-pandering if you discover that the "planned pairing" doesn't click at all, while a character you just put in as a joke works so well, that you already made the actress a regular. In writing, you sometimes have to abandon your plans and do instead what works.

  14. God seriously, this is 2013 soon 2014, get with the program there's gay people out there, shocker, I know. I really love it when silly people like you get all riled up because of this. Love the way you spell homosexual btw lol

  16. these recurring characters on AOS are the going to be regulars or just have some arcs I've only just gotten used to the team as is

  17. Reign was promoted with a love triangle. #1 reason I didn't bother to check it out.

  18. Totallyagreed!
I like Bash but I guess that I wont lie Bash and Mary toguether :(

  19. Well, then, I agree with Aydrian: I don't see at all how it's fan-pandering... Like I said, I don't like the show, but let's not give it flaws it doesn't have!

    ReplyDelete
  20. Nope, that would be fan-pandering anyway (if my prediction were correct: according to InvestedInYourFuture I was wrong, but for the sake of argument let's say it was that). Now, Laurel is definitively the worst, of course. Nevertheless, if the writer (the ''artist'') planned for the two of them to hook up, but changes his view because of the fan reaction to both Laurel and the other girl, then yes, it is fan-pandering. It doesn't matter that it's a legitimate one.

  21. I´m wondering too who the recurring cast members could be and if they have a comic counter part. googeling like hell already. ;-)
