Chicago Fire - Episode 2.09 - You Will Hurt Him - Review

Hi guys, a little late with this week’s review but I’m here! So, where do we start? Hmm, let’s just do this, shall we?

A little somethin' I did for Dawsey fans. You're welcome. Dawsey is in full swing, they’re jumpin’ each other’s bones anywhere and everywhere when they get the chance. I feel like a hardcore Dawsey shipper would probably appreciate this and be happy for them, but for me I think that the writers are just shoving all these blissfulness into our faces because it’s long overdue and I’m sensing some foreshadowing(Turns out I’m right after watching next week’s promo).

Moving on. For a split second I thought Shay was beginning to feel like her old self again, drinking coffee and heading to work. It was revealed later that she did not turn up at the new firehouse. She gave me a scare when she was at the bridge, I thought she was going to jump! I might have been hard on her during the last couple of weeks, it’s only because she’s one of my favourite characters. It’s like Severide can actually read my mind, or maybe he read my review last week. He told Dawson to step up and fix their friendship before anything happens to Shay. And she did. Dawson managed to find and reconcile with her. My favourite paramedic dynamic duo is back!

Let’s talk about McLeod. When you’re at war, your enemies will probably show up when you’re least expecting it. Evil McLeod told them that they only have one last shift together before she shuts 51 down. Damn it. I hope Chief Boden’s got something up his sleeves.

Cruz’s brother Leon went undercover and managed to get the guy who called the hit that killed the little girl from last week’s episode but not without giving me a scare, I thought for a moment he got shot and died. But that doesn’t mean happily ever after for Cruz and Leon. He has to leave town because the other gang members might come for him. And when you thought it can’t get any worse for him, Zoya decided to not go through with the wedding. Poor Cruz. I guess it’s nice of Zoya for not wanting to use him like that. I was actually really into them as a couple though, holding hands, kissing her forehead and stuff.

I really like Severide’s sister, I hope she stays for quite some time. She’s like a breath of fresh air. I like the whole brother and sister relationship storyline, it’s nice to see Severide being a responsible and kind guy.

Am I missing anything else? Oh, Mills and Isabella are still going at it. And he’s actually going to be a cop! Not sure if he’s going to take the job or not though. What do you guys think? I am actually kind of sick of him.

Did you guys watch the promo for next week’s fall finale episode? It’s going to be epic, I can’t wait! Poor Dawsey can’t catch a break. Let me know what you guys think of this episode and what are you expecting next week!
