Quote of the Week - 10th November 2013

A weekly feature highlighting the best quotes on TV this past week.

Agents of SHIELD: 'FZZT'; 5th November; Chloe Bennet, Iain De Caestecker/Elizabeth Henstridge/Ming-Na Wen
A Dahne: Skye: "What are you looking for?" Fitz: "A scented candle." If I were in a room with a dead body, I'd probably go for the scented candle too.

Simmons: "And don't you dare act like these last months haven't been the highlight of your entire pasty life." Fitz: "Pasty?  Oh really, well when did you become so sun-kissed because I'm pretty sure that every minute of every day you've been stuck in the lab right beside me - at the academy, at Sci-Ops, this plane.  You've been beside me the whole damn time." Generally I like snarky quotes best but this episode actually shined in the dramatic moments.  This one had such great delivery that it stuck with me for days.

Jamie Coudeville: May: "Have a cookie"
Simmons: "It's you. You're the hero."

Arrow: 'League of Assassins'; 6th November; Caity Lotz, Paul Blackthorne/Emily Bett Rickards
A Dahne: Sara: "I'm sorry you saw that. I can't imagine what you must think of me." Quentin: "I think you're a survivor. I think you're one of the bravest people I've ever known... and my daughter. It's time for you to come back home." The unconditional love and forgiveness in Quentin's line was everything Sara needed to hear and the most emotional moment of the week.  It was the father welcoming the prodigal daughter back home, no matter what.

Felicity: "We all join clubs we wish we hadn't. It took me a year to get out of that gym membership." Oh so funny and oh so relatable too.

Boardwalk Empire: 'Marriage and Hunting'; 3rd November; Patricia Arquette/Michael K. Williams
Darth Locke: Sally Wheat: "Don't get lost in the fog."
Chalky White: "Heard a lot of 'we' last year, when you was in trouble. Now it's just 'you'."

There were so many quotes from this episode I could have easily chosen, but Boardwalk Empire continues on with philosophical riddles and sometimes surreal path with never ending reminders of Jimmy, dreams, and death. The first quote in particular I find curious. as not only again do have this "thunderstorm" in Florida, but What Sally says, 'Don't get lost in the FOG." again seems synonymous with the unknown and it should be noted that Nucky is staying at a Hotel dubbed "The Albotross" --a major shout out to "The Rime and the Ancient Mariner"! Sally also gives Nucky a taste of his own medicine reflecting the lies he just told Chalky White about himself.

Elementary: 'The Marchioness'; 7th November; Jonny Lee Miller
Bradley Adams: Sherlock: "I've just heard from a forensic accountant I once helped out in a spot of bother involving a naked self-portrait of himself."
Sherlock: "Just out of curiosity, was he any good?"

Jonny Lee Miller continues to be unbelievable as Sherlock. Some of the things he comes out with are completely hilarious, and these two quotes were no different. This week, the sheer weirdness of the quotes' details made me laugh.

Homeland: 'Still Positive'; 3rd November; Rupert Friend/Shaun Toub
DarkUFO: Quinn: "This is just the fucking beginning."
Javadi: "Saul should have instructed you to treat me with more respect than that."

New Girl: 'Coach'; 5th November; Max Greenfield, Jake Johnson
Sharon Seymour: Schmidt:“When I’m done with you, your face is gonna look all melted like the President at the end of Raiders!” Nick: “He wasn’t the President!  You saw a different movie than everybody else in the world!” Schmidt: “I’ll kill you!”

Person of Interest: 'The Perfect Mark'; 5th November; Kevin Chapman/Sarah Shahi/Michael Emerson/Amy Acker
Bradley Adams: Fusco: "Why is it every time you call me these days, I know to bring a firearm?"
This is fantastic from Fusco. He's been seldom seen recently (causing theories of his potential death to arise), but this was a brilliant line aimed at Carter. He's totally right though, and the same could apply had he been saying it to Reese, Finch or Shaw.
This quote was also picked by DarkUFO

Shaw: "I'm so gonna shoot this punk." Does she ever say or do anything that doesn't involve shooting people? I do love Shaw though.

DarkUFO: Finch: "As before, Miss Groves, Mr Reese is upstairs with an unhealthy number of firearms. Please don't try to run."  This quote was also picked by Darth Locke.

Darth Locke: Root: "I'm worried about you, Harold. You can't stop what's coming, and neither can I. But we have the opportunity to understand things when they finally change. The future is coming. I started it... and I'll finish it."

Revolution: 'The Patriot Act'; 6th November; Jessica Collins/Zak Orth, Billy Burke
Bradley Adams: Cynthia: "Wherever we go, you and me. That's home." It's been nice to see Aaron and Cynthia's relationship grow. That line from her is a prime example of how Aaron has managed to acquire a love life, even in the midst of his own death and homicidal maniacs entering Willoughby.

Aaron: "Miles, the sewer could be blocked, it could be caved in, we have no idea." Miles: "That's why we call it plan B." This was a great mini-arugment between Aaron and Miles. I liked how Aaron was panicking about the incoming troops while Miles just seemed his usual calm, badass self.

Darth Locke: Aaron: "So what, I'm E.T. now?"

Sons of Anarchy: 'John 8:32'; 5th November; Charlie Hunnam/Kim Coates
Sharon Seymour: Jax: “I’m the scumbag outlaw and you’re the pillar of justice.  But neither of us likes looking at ourselves in the mirror.”
Tig: "Why my bike? I mean, really? Do all teenage girls hate me?" Everybody: "Yes."

The Big Bang Theory: 'The Proton Displacement'; 7th November; Melissa Rauch/Jim Parsons, Bob Newhart
A Dahne: Bernadette: "Maybe you should master glue before you move on to fire." Classic TBBT.

Sheldon: "I'm surprised to see you here." 'Professor Proton' Jeffries: "Yeah me too... uh, somewhere around the third floor I began to see a white light." Loved Bob Newhart on the show. He had several great lines.

The Originals: 'Fruit of the Poisoned Tree'; 5th November; Claire Holt, Daniel Gillies/Phoebe Tonkin
Jamie Coudeville: Rebekah: "Who do we have to kill?" Elijah: "Probably no one... Alright, potentially everyone."
Hayley: "I still think you're a bitch, I've just grown to like that about you."

The Walking Dead: 'Indifference'; 3rd November; Melissa McBride/Danai Gurira/Norman Reedus
DarkUFO: Carol: "You don't have to like what I did, just accept it."
Michonne: "Anger makes you stupid. Stupid gets you killed."

Sharon Seymour: Daryl: "You take one sip before those meds get in our people, I will beat your ass into the ground. You hear me?"
Carol: "You can be a farmer, Rick. But you can't be just a farmer."

The Vampire Diaries: 'Handle With Care'; 7th November; Ian Somerhalder/Paul Wesley
Jamie Coudeville: Damon: "AKA, put the damn crossbow down Pocahontas."
Silas: "Knock knock, who's there? The mayor. Mayor who? No one, that's the joke. No one's there because I killed the mayor."

White Collar: 'Controlling Interest'; 7th November; Willie Garson/Matt Bomer
Tessa Marlene: Mozzie: "Coincidence is fate's favourite tool."
Neal: "You are smart, you are resourceful, you can do anything without a height requirement."
