Chicago Fire - Episode 2.08 - Rhymes With Shout - Review

This week Detective Voight is back and he brought along Sophia Bush! I missed her on my TV, it’s been long. I guess it's a Chicago PD crossover. He’s back because of a gang shooting he is working on that Cruz and his brother Leon happened to be involved in. A young girl they knew died due to a gunshot wound and they need Leon to go undercover back into the gang to break the case. Of course Cruz disagrees instantly, but Voight brings up the Flacko incident and uses it against him. He has no choice but to let Leon help the police. It is quite predictable that this will come back and haunt Cruz again.

Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned. Gail McLeod is back at 51, declaring war with Chief Boden thanks to the stunt he pulled last week. She’s determined to shut down 51 and I just want to hit my screen when I first saw her face. This is not going to be pretty. I hope whatever Chief Boden is up to better make sure he’ll get rid of McLeod once and for all.

Shay transferred to another firehouse without Dawson knowing and I wonder why Dawson isn’t trying hard enough to talk to her. The both of them are so stubborn just talk to each other and fix this damn it! Shawson is meant to be and Chout(?) can back the hell away. Speaking of Chout, he is Dawson’s new partner and boy is he ever going to keep his mouth shut. He decided to ask Dawson out after witnessing her being a paramedic rock star, thinking he’d have a shot with her. Oh honey you are so out of her league.

Shay, still on her way down to rock bottom, thinks that giving Devon a key to the apartment is the best idea in the world. The apartment was in a mess when the guys returned home and found out that Devon stole their valuables while they weren’t home. Color me unsurprised, Devon seemed really shady since day one. Shay, please get your shit together and return to 51 and all will be well again.

This week we learned that Clarke's wife is in debt, and that he has a gun in his trunk. Not a pistol, but a huge one like a rifle. I hope he would not get to use it. It's nice to see that the crew at 51 is starting to be nice to him.

So Mills and Isabella is still a thing, not that I care much, but she brings him to a black tie event and things kinda went south. I’m not sure if Isabella is really playing the “black boyfriend” card, so we shall see.

Cruz finally asks Zoya to marry him, so she can stay in the states. Who did not see that coming from a mile away? Zoya actually seems interested in him, I really hope they will fall in love and live happily ever after.

All aboard the Casey and Dawson train! What’s their portmanteau ship name anyway? They are finally getting together, this “will they or won’t they” thing is not something I like to watch. I know it stirs drama, but I dislike it when shows like to drag a couple on for a long time. Just give them a break they deserve each other!

I did enjoy the episode, I am not disappointed. I hope the writers will keep this momentum going and deliver great episodes every week. Well, I’ll see you guys next week! Is there anything you'd like to add? Leave a comment as always!
