Psych - Episode 7.03 - Lassie Jerky - Review

NOTE: This is probably going to be the last preview of the episode for a while. I’m guessing till a longer break or the finale, but could be sooner, we’ll see.

This week’s episode was written and directed by the show’s star James Roday. What’s more, most of the episode looks like a found footage, created from the perspective of the characters.

I have to admit, I’m not the biggest fan of this format, but I didn’t mind it so much here, so I enjoyed it more than I expected. As for the plot, two college filmmakers (quite a strange and pretty characteristic couple) are making a documentary about the Bigfoot in the woods and ask for Shawn and Gus’ help. The guys join them (Gus very reluctantly) in order to make a documentary about making the documentary about the Bigfoot. Sounds crazy enough? Of course, the trip quickly becomes more dangerous than anyone suspected and Juliet and Lassiter’s presence is necessary. And here’s where things get really interesting…
After the three episodes, this clearly looks like the Year of Juliet, who’s even more serious and heroic than ever. Lassie, on the other hand, is not having the best day, which for us, means quite a lot funny moments with him. And his confession in front of the camera at one point is just brilliant. There’s also a conversation between some characters about the meat that will probably make you feel really uncomfortable (or simply disgusted). It certainly happened to me. But that’s just a brief moment. Expect to see a lot funny bits as well as the action!

To sum up, another solid episode this season. Especially nice work by James Roday! Can’t wait to see what’s gonna happen next week, when we’ll meet Juliet’s stepfather!
