Comedy Bang Bang - Renewed for an extra-large second season

IFC announced they're renewing the very original / funny sketch comedy / talk show Comedy Bang Bang for a second season, doubling its first season order for a total of 20 episodes.

These 20 episodes starring Scott Ackerman, Reggie Watts and a bunch of big guests will air in two chunks of 10, one this summer and the other in autumn. Production on Season 2 is apparently already happening in LA.

Awesome !

And while I'm talking about fake talk shows, you should watch Newsreaders, Thursdays at 12:00am on Adult Swim. It's not always laugh-out-loud funny (i.e, the latest episode had two segments, one of them pretty average despite a great guest and the other one quite good ; episode 1.02 was awesome, episodes 1.01 and 1.03 had their very good moments and Ray Wise was priceless in all of them), but it's definitely worth a look (it's only 11-minute long, what do you have to lose, except 11 minutes of your life ?).

In other news, here's a teaser for Marc Maron's upcoming show, entitled Maron (10 episodes). There it is.

Most people won't be able to see it (I managed to see it somewhere a few days ago but now on most websites I get treated with a glorious "The video you are trying to watch cannot be viewed from your current country or location." for this teaser), and there's not much happening, but it tells us that the show is coming soon.

Maron being funny, and this show being a fictionalised version of his life à la Louie, it should be funny. So if Maron premières this Spring, maybe it'll share a timeslot with Out There (10 episodes), another new IFC comedy.

As I've said before, it has a pretty cool regular voice cast, and the guests are not bad either, we will hear people such as Nick Offerman, Jason Schwartzman, Ellen Page, Sarah Silverman, Jemaine Clement, Selma Blair, Stephen Root and Christian Slater.

The pilot (which aired as a sneak peek in early January) was alright, not exceptional in any way or filled with laughs but I'll check out the rest, and you should too. Out There starts its run next Friday on IFC.
