House of Cards - Review of First 2 Episodes

Thanks to SpoilerTV reader Stephen for submitting his review for us to post here on the first 2 episodes.

Earlier this week i saw the first two episodes of House of Cards, coming February the 1st on Netflix (all 13 episodes at once).

House of Cards is for starters a real good show, by my meaning after watching the first two episodes. It`s a really good series about political power, ambition and «The American Way». I would say if the series continue as strong, stronger or similar as the first two episodes this series will end up being the best political drama ever made. It made Boss look weak in comparison.

I went into the screening-room in with doubt that maybe the supporting cast especially would be poorly worked on like i felt Boss ended up with. But no, House of Cards felt like it had purpose for a bunch of characters, especially Robin Wright as the wife of Frank Underwood (Kevin Spacey) and journalist Zoe Barnes (Kate Mara) that gets something bigger than news about dog parks on her desk.

The first two episodes feature one of the best roles done by Spacey (i would say), and in them he shows himself as actor i know he his. A good actor that can handle both drama og comedy well. The thing I really liked was showing that Underwood was behind things happening, instead of most shows on tv now that handle too much things like a mystery. It`s greater too see the reason, and the evolution of a plan like Underwood has set up, instead of just seeing or wondering who is behind everything is happening.

Everybody who likes dramas like Breaking Bad, Justified and Homeland should watch House of Cards. The show might not features terrorists and guns, but it`s a darn fine two first episodes. And i am looking forward to see the rest. Will probably end up being the best new series of 2013.

All critics there was quite positive, so it`s not only me. There is more to read about the reception on wikipedia
