  1. I wasn't really a fan of Season 5 but seriously... no Mad Men?
Also, happy for the FIRST nomination for Breaking Bad among the dramas (better late than never, I guess).

  2. Isn't it comedy/musical?

  3. Musical yes, but I don't recall it trying to be funny like Glee does

  4. I would like to know who they are. lol

  5. I agree, they are very odd nominations for TV series.

  6. some things here are atrocious but i hate the echoed complaints that always follow these things so whatever. I hope homeland wins everything so that at least something is right in the end

  7. "Arji Panjabi", Dark, really? It's Archie! What are you, racist? (I'm just kidding, of course)

I'm glad she got nominated, btw. Like the whole cast of The Good Wife, she's excellent in her role. In such predictible events, little surprises like this are always appreciated. Well, it is her first Golden Globe nomination and I didn't feel like she was a contender (the supporting categories in TV are such a mess, they don't give a fuck, putting comedy/drama actors against one another), but she has won an Emmy and got nominated two other times for her role.

If they wanted to make it clear that you get nominated if you have the right name / know the right people, they couldn't have done any better : Smash for best comedy/musical (well, it was Glee's spot for the past years, so...) and The Newsroom for best telenove-- drama (thanks, Aaron 'Oscar' Sorkin), now those are some stup-- bold choices (I'm not upset about Jeff Daniels' nom though, the writing of some portions of the show may have been like a cheesy romantic soap opera, but he was good throughout, overall).

The End of the World is indeed coming : Hayden Panettiere is one of the 5 best supporting actresses on TV in a drama series, apparently. On the other hand, I'm surprised and glad Connie Britton, who never got a Globe nom for FNL, gets a nomination here - let's say it's compensation.

Continuing with surprises, happy that Mandy Patinkin and Louis CK are nominated... and Breaking Bad as well : yep, it's Breaking Bad's FIRST nomination for best drama, can you believe it ? Eric Stonestreet acts like the very stereotype of the gay guy, Cam being a drama queen in each episode, and he gets nominated to every single award show somehow. I prefer the more nuanced portrayal by Jesse Tyler Ferguson, but even if he's good, neither should be nominated when you have Aaron Paul, Jonathan Banks, Walton Goggins, Neal McDonough, Ron Pearlman, John Noble, Alan Cumming, and all those great actors left with noms.

The photo of Ron Swanson below (btw, Nick Offerman, snubbed again, come on !) sums up my feeling :

  8. Maybe if i drop a tab i'll see John Nobel's name here.. :P

  9. Wait, no Andrew Lincoln for Best Actor in a TV Drama?!?! Aside from that, Les Miserables is gonna be big this year.

  10. I'm so happy for Damian and Claire (and for Connie and Hayden nominations for Nashville) but where is Homeland?

  11. Awesome to see Salmon Fishing in the Yemen get some nomination love!

Never liked the Globes and the odd combination of Comedy and Drama in some of the same categories throws me, but I like almost all of the movie nods and can deal with the majority of the Drama nominations. Not sure The Hour is correctly nominated in the mini-series category. It was an incredible first season, but it is not a mini-series in my opinion.

A lot of perennial favorites nominated again for their movies like Daniel Day-Lewis, Ben Affleck, Jessica Chastain, Naomi Watts, Rachel Weisz, and the extraordinary John Hawkes!

  12. now i do like Nashville, but I am not sure if it is golden globe worthy.

  13. They should make Meryl Streep a fixed nomination in Best Actress. She is there EVERY SINGLE YEAR. Not that I'm complaining.
