-Ratings Breakdown:
An estimated 50-minute primetime football overrun was enough to push CBS past NBC, with a one-tenth of a rating point overnight advantage. The Eye net football overrun scored a 14.9 rating/25 share in the 7 p.m. half-hour, which lifted the combination of football and 60 Minutes at 7:30 p.m. to a 12.4/20. Since CBS is approximate due to football, what follows are the Sunday results by half-hour:

CBS/Sunday
7:00 p.m. – Football: 14.9/25 (#)
7:30 p.m. – Football/60 Minutes: 12.4/20 (#1)
8:00 p.m. – 60 Minutes: 10.8/16 (#1)
8:30 p.m. – 60 Minutes/The Amazing Race: 8.4/12 (#2)
9:00 p.m. – The Amazing Race: 6.5/ 9 (#3)
9:30 p.m. – The Amazing Race/The Good Wife: 7.6/11 (#2)
10:00 p.m. – The Good Wife: 7.3/11 (#2)
10:30 p.m. – The Good Wife/The Mentalist: 7.2/12 (#2)

Sunday Night Football on NBC, Baltimore Ravens vs. Pittsburgh Steelers, led the 8:30-11 p.m. block, as usual, with an approximate 12.1/19 in the overnights (and a 12.5/22 in the 11 p.m. half-hour). Earlier in the evening was pre-game Football Night in America at a 2.3/ 4 (#4) at 7 p.m., a 3.9/ 6 (#3) at 7:30 p.m. and a 7.3/11 (#20 at 8 p.m.

ABC kicked-off the night with veteran America’s Funniest Home Videos at a second-place 4.5/ 8 in the overnights at 7 p.m. That led into The 40th Anniversary American Music Awards at a 6.6/10 from 8-11 p.m., which was 17 percent below the 8.0/12 on the year-ago evening. That 8.0 overnight translated into 12.07 million viewers and a 4.3 rating/10 share among adults 18-49, according to the Live Plus Same Day data.

Fox capped off the evening with its tired animated combination of a repeat of Bob’s Burgers (#3: 2.4/ 4), The Cleveland Show (#4: 2.2/ 4), The Simpsons (#4: 3.3/ 5), the regularly scheduled installment of Bob’s Burgers (#4: 2.5/ 4), Family Guy (#4: 3.4/ 5) and American Dad (#4: 2.7/ 4). Comparably, Bob’s Burgers at 8:30 p.m. is only a slight improvement from failed year-ago occupant Allen Gregory. And Fox is in growing need of new hit animated Sunday programming.
