Thanks to Eleftheria_K for the following.

Joel Wyaman just tweeted that we'll find out about renewal news this week and when asked on a scale of 1 to 10 how positive he is about Fringe's renewal he answered "9.99"

  1. That is truly awesome!  Hope to hear a confirmation of Season 5 soon!

  2. He also tweeted it's definitely likely to happen this week. And said one of the reasons he's so confident is because of how vocal the fans are and how when they speak, people listen. Such good news, looking forward to news this week!

  7. We are the 99 percent !

Although there's still a 1% chance the show will get cancelled (*niark niark*).No seriously, that's awesome. Credit goes to the fans. Sure, it's likely because Warner Bros. will basically give a free season 5 (or something like that) to FOX, but maybe WB wouldn't try so hard if there weren't so many supporting fans out there and if they didn't feel like they have a special show on their hands. A few months ago, if you had told me Fringe and Raising Hope would be renewed, I wouldn't have believed it. So glad my #2 favorite network drama and my #3 favorite network sitcom will be there next season.

  8. No statement coming from someone who's not a FOX official should be taken seriously.

    1. And since you are not a fox official either, why should we take your comment seriously?

  15. obvious, because no other show could pull these numbers at friday night.
and fox knows the dedication and the number of the fans watching it, relentless of the ratings.
i guess theyll pack some ads right into the episodes, but im fine with Peter drinking a coke as long as we get another season

  20. The skeptical side of me says "official FOX press release or GTFO."

    ReplyDelete
  21. I would feel better about this news if it were coming from anyone who wasn't going to lose their job if the show doesn't get renewed.

    ReplyDelete

  26. That would be awesome! Season 5 for Fringe!

  27. I think the show itself is probably doing wonders for Burlington Coat Factory. I love all the cool jackets and coats everyone wears.

    ReplyDelete
  28. Personally I am 100% confident the show will get it's closure.
Be it a 7 or 10 or 13 episode final season, a tv movie or a straight to DVDmovie this story will have a proper ending.

    ReplyDelete
  29. Just renew it and stop the teasing already.

    ReplyDelete
  30. I feel like we have been through the ringer already! I'm not sure whats worse, being psyched or the let down of not knowing? But i'm going to lose it if they don't tell us soon... :) & :(

    ReplyDelete
  31. W h o a! Nice going!

    ReplyDelete
  32. We just need that other 1 percent,we NEED to know its a done deal...geez please guys!

    ReplyDelete
  33. And another thing, when i hear this i cannot concentrate on anything else...rant over i guess?

    ReplyDelete
  34. BEST NEWS EVER!!!!!!!!! Seriously though, if Fox doesn't renew it now after stringing not only us but the producers around like this, than not only am I just gonna snap, I will lead an all out revolt against FOX and Warner Bros.

  35. "
obvious, because no other show could pull these numbers at friday night."

We as fans sometimes cant face the truth in regards to certain things............ this would be another example. This simply isnt true at all. As of now, it would be better for them to air repeats given the fact they generally get around 0.6-1.3 somewhere in that range generally for almost all shows. I remember for example when Fringe was still on Thursdays and on Fridays at 9:00 they were showing repeats of House and it was doing around what Fringe is doing now. Heck, earlier in the season. Kitchen Nightmares..........  yes Kitchen Nightmares aired repeats in the same 9:00 PM slot and it did around what Fringe is doing now.

For whatever reason, the higher upps at Fox are willing to lose money on the show. I dont think i have ever remembered them be generous to this extent with any show. However, the management at Fox clearly like the show so we should be glad that they've been supportive enough to give it 4 seasons when it should have been cancelled after season 2. You have to understand that they dont give a damn about the dedication of fans, all that matters is the ratings. Remember, they are a business. Not a charity. I believe even Joshua Jackson said something similar to this as well.

If theres a season 5, it'll be because WB gave it away for free. Ratings have shrunk to a point where FOX is likely making very little on the show so WB will have to be very, very generous when they cut the licensing fee. Because next season quite honestly, i dont like saying this, but it could very well hit CW level, ratings wise and that is simply embarrassing.for FOX to have something like that unless its getting it for free.

    ReplyDelete
  36. I'm assuming he's only saying that in relation to it being a 13 episode finale season. No matter how much I'd love it, I really don't think there is a change of a full season.

    ReplyDelete
  37. Now someone please confirm it!!

    ReplyDelete
  38. I excited and hope Fringe returns but if it does, it will be despite of teh ratings not because of them.  Kitchen Nightmares, which cost less to make than Fringe, gets much better ratings than Fringe does on Friday nights.

    ReplyDelete
  39. FOX is currently losing money by airing Fringe so at this point you have to wonder if WB is going to start paying them.  :-)  I would have loved to be at the WB strategic planning meeting and at the negotiations between the WB and FOX.  Besides the CW, this will have to be one of the lowest rated shows to ever be considered for renewal.  If for no other reason, people should be rooting for a Fringe renewal just to watch another TV miracle.

    ReplyDelete
  40. It's just GOT to happen! Here's hoping they can come to at least a 13-episode agreement, and then even bring out a movie in the future in order to exhaust their sixth season ideas, or better yet, if Fringe ends its fifth season this time next year or even earlier, season four of Arrested Development will have been released on Netflix, and if that's a success maybe Netflix may step in for a sixth season of Fringe. It just seems like even if the producers are told point blank that this is the final seasons they wont do anything to close the story, saying that "the season five finale can work as a cliffhanger OR an ending" etc etc.

    ReplyDelete
  41. Wow! I have been checking almost everyday! I hope it's renewed!

    ReplyDelete
  42. In my mind I knew and confident that Fringe would be renew for surefor few months ago, but when everyone was worries that get me afraid of little bit.  My real concern is season6, i've watch it s5 than i give to u all my prediction.

  43. I want 22!!!!

  44. Second'd.
But it's better to hear this than "9.99/10 we're not getting anything guys! But keep up the support and stuff!" lol

    ReplyDelete
  45. Keeping fingers crossed...keeping fingers crossed...KEEPING FINGERS CROSSED!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  46. Wow!!! What a way to start a day. Glad I didn't check things last night or I might not have slept. Only trouble is that 1% unknown. Hope we get positive news on that very soon.

    ReplyDelete
  47. Please please please make this be true! I really liked the whole 'Observers have taken over' world (Episode 19) and they have said that would be what a season 5 would be about.
