-Ratings Breakdown:
CBS led this atypical Tuesday, which featured President Obama’s State of the Union Address on the Big 4 networks from approximately 9-10 p.m. (followed by an analysis). Second overall was Fox, with NBC third, ABC fourth and The CW a very distant fifth.

A repeat of NCIS on CBS opened the evening with a dominant 8.1 rating/13 share in the overnights from 8-9 p.m. Second was a repeat of American Idol on Fox (6.4/10), which originally aired at 11 p.m. on Sunday after the Giants/49ers football match-up, followed by a one-hour edition of NBC’s The Biggest Loser (4.1/ 6), two repeat episodes of sitcom Last Man Standing on ABC (avg. 3.7/ 7) and an encore telecast of 90210 on The CW (1.0/ 2). As a reminder, Cougar Town on ABC opens its third season in the Tuesday 8:30 p.m. half-hour on February 14.

The State of The Union Address fared as follows from 9-10 p.m.:

NBC: 5.4/ 8, CBS: 5.0/ 8, ABC: 4.6/ 7, Fox: 3.4/ 5

Keep in mind, of course, that results for any live sporting event are always approximate. Despite the lack of entertainment competition, week two of Remodeled on The CW trailed with a miniscule 0.7/ 1 at 9 p.m. One week earlier it opened with a 0.6/ 1 on Jan. 17.

At 10 p.m., the half-hour analysis is estimated by network as follows:

NBC: 5.6/ 8, ABC: 5.1/ 8, CBS: 4.9/ 8, Fox: 3.7/ 6

The 10:30 p.m. half-hour featured a continued news analysis on NBC (3.9/ 6), followed by encore telecasts of The Big Bang Theory on CBS (3.6/ 6) and Modern Family on ABC (3.4/ 6).
