The 100th episode of THE CLOSER claims a serious casualty as Santa’s entrance into a Christmas Village via a zip line goes horribly wrong. Fred Willard guest stars as Santa Jack, the owner of the village who may believe he’s the real Father Christmas. Christine Woods also guest stars as Buzz’s visiting sister, who helps Brenda and the Major Crimes Division solve the holiday case. Lauren Bowles guest stars.
The Closer: “Relative Matters” – Monday, Dec. 12, at 9 p.m. (ET/PT)
The investigation into the murder of a man under FBI surveillance puts the FBI in hot water with the LAPD. Special guest stars Frances Sternhagen and Barry Corbin return as Brenda’s parents who are visiting for Christmas with surprising news that keeps Brenda’s mind from her case.
Deck the Halls – Original movie premiering Tuesday, Dec. 20 at 9 p.m. (ET/PT)
Based on the first book in Mary Higgins Clark and daughter Carol Higgins Clark’s series of holiday mystery novels, this warm-hearted TNT original movie brings together two of the authors’ most popular characters: Cleaning-woman-turned-private-eye Alvirah Meegan, played by Kathy Najimy (Sister Act, Franklin & Bash) and Detective Regan Reilly, played by Scottie Thompson (Star Trek, Skyline). The women investigate the kidnapping of Regan’s father and a young female driver just before the holidays. The race is on to rescue the pair and get them home in time for Christmas. Two-time Emmy winner Jane Alexander (Testament, Warm Springs) plays Regan’s mother, famed mystery writer Nora Regan Reilly. Ron Underwood (Tremors, City Slickers) will direct from a script by Howard Burkons (John Q, TNT’s The Ron Clark Story), who also serves as executive producer with Brenda Friend (Joan of Arc, TNT’s The Ron Clark Story) and Frank von Zerneck (We Were the Mulvaneys, Miracle on Ice).
Christmas in Washington – Annual concert special airing Friday, Dec. 16, at 8 p.m. (ET/PT)
Celebrating its 30th anniversary in 2011, this holiday concert is a star-studded musical celebration benefiting the Children’s National Medical Center. Annually attended by the President and First Lady and other Washington VIPs, the spectacular concert takes place at the National Building Museum in Washington, D.C. This marks TNT’s 13th year presenting Christmas in Washington.

24 Hours of A CHRISTMAS STORY – Christmas Eve, beginning at 8 p.m. (ET/PT)
TBS celebrates the holiday each year with an all-day marathon of one of the most enduring Christmas classics of all time. Peter Billingsley stars as young Ralphie, whose desire for a Red Ryder BB gun leads to hilarious complications. Melinda Dillon and Darren McGavin play his parents in this nostalgic comedy based on the writings of Jean Shepherd, who also narrates.
Turner Classic Movies (TCM)
This holiday season, TCM has the perfect gift for fans of classic film: the return of TCM Host Robert Osborne. Robert’s first month back on the air will include a special Christmas Eve showcase, with four delightful classics he handpicked as his special gift to viewers. The night will include the perennial favorite Miracle on 34th Street (1947), presented as part of TCM’s The Essentials showcase, co-hosted by Emmy® winner Alec Baldwin; the TCM premiere of Margie (1946), starring Jeanne Crain as a housewife reminiscing about her carefree days during the 1920s; Auntie Mame (1958), with Rosalind Russell’s tour de force as an eccentric Manhattan socialite; and The Bishop’s Wife (1947), starring Cary Grant as an angel who lends a hand to clergyman David Niven and neglected wife Loretta Young.
TCM A Night at the Movies: Merry Christmas! – Original special premiering Tuesday, Dec. 6, at 8 p.m.
This holiday season, TCM is going to take movie lovers on a tinsel-filled journey through the most iconic holiday films of all time, including perennial favorites It’s A Wonderful Life (1946) and Miracle on 34th Street (1947). This all-new special from Amblin Television will look at variations within the genre, such as holiday romances, family movies and even thrillers. A Night at the Movies: Merry Christmas will feature behind-the-scenes stories and personal Hollywood Christmas memories from the likes of Chevy Chase, Margaret O’Brien, Chazz Palminteri, Deborah Raffin, Karolyn Grimes, Zack Ward, Brian Henson, Joe Dante, Trine Mitchum, authors Julie Salamon and Alonso Duralde, A Christmas Carol expert Michael Patrick Hearn and many more.

A Night at the Movies: Merry Christmas! will launch an entire month of great holiday films on TCM, including Miracle on 34th Street (1947), A Christmas Carol (1938), Meet Me in St. Louis (1944) and both the 1933 and 1949 versions of Little Women. Also included are the TCM premieres of Good Sam (1948), starring Gary Cooper, and The Lemon Drop Kid (1951), starring Bob Hope.
