I wouldn't complain if he was outdoorsy.

Jimmy is seriously looking for a guy friend, who really gets what it's like to be a dad. Sabrina found one shopping in the grocery store. Justin (Brandon T. Jackson) is frazzled and in way over his head with his little boy. He's perfect. Jimmy gets his phone number over the meat counter.

Back at home, Jimmy is nervous about making the phone call. After several lame attempts to leave a voice mail, with Virginia blowing her recorder on every bad message, Justin calls back and agree to a play date.

First play date
As it turns out, Jimmy's new friend lived in a house that Virginia cleans. Awkward. Employers and employees don't hang with each other over expensive wine. Virginia and Burt insist Jimmy find a different friend, even if it is not his dream guy, at least he will be poor like they are. Not yet though. Jimmy already invited Justin's family over for dinner Saturday night.

Things doesn't get much better when Burt and Virginia have way too much in common with Donovan and Sylvia (Phill Louis and Tichina Arnold).

“They are so perfect, its humiliating hanging out with them. It's like they are Ken and Barbie and we are the Potato Heads.”

The rest of the evening is ruined, when Justin made a move on Sabrina behind his back. Burt and Donovan break up the fight that ensues. Sylvia apologizes for Justin. He is always fighting over a girl. When Virginia is complimented for raising a good kid, she likes the fact that these people are not perfect after all. They got to be better than them at something. Virginia and Burt are happy that they have got themselves new friends. While Jimmy is not too thrilled about the prospects of going to their barbeque next weekend, all his worries go away once Maw Maw is lucid enough to fix his phone jack.

Comments:
The Chance family is back and funnier than ever. They try to make friends with a family who were in the same situation as them in every way except that they are not poor. I loved the parallel dinner conversations right down to the two dads and their respective boring work stories. You can't go wrong with two darling babies. And then there is Maw Maw. When she is lucid, she can be quite the handy woman.
