Last night was the return of The Vampire Diaries, and it was back with a bang. Admittedly it was not the best episode of the season, but it was great for character development, specifically Damon.

The episode opens with Stefan informing Elena that he is going to be contacting her mother Isabel to find out more about Clause. This is interesting, and hopefully Mia Kirshner will be back because she really is the best at evil bitch.

Rose is slowly and painfully dying as the Werewolf legend becomes reality. This story line was very well done, especially for Rose. There was more insight into her life before she became a vampire. There was an interesting parallel between Rose and Damon in these scenes and as the audience later finds out the one thing Damon misses the most is being human.

A great moment between Elena and Damon has her begging him to feel what he feels, to embrace these 'human feelings'. And in the last scene, which in my opinion is the darkest of the season so far, has Damon confessing to his victim that the hardest part about living is knowing how much he misses being human. All this before he lets her go, then sucks her blood.

Damon's struggle with his humanity as well as his love for Elena are going to be his downfall and his saving grace, this season and seasons to come.

The love triangle between Matt, Caroline and Tyler just got a lot more complicated and not because she kissed both of them. Because Jules informed Tyler that Caroline is not the only Vampire in Mystic Falls and she's been lying to him,

I have to say i am actually rooting for Caroline and Tyler, although i find him unbearable, she makes him better and they are actually cute.

What was missing in last nights episode? Bonnie and Jeremy i cannot wait for that to happen because it is going to be great.

Best Moment: Damon's gut wrenching confession and killing of the innocent girl.

Best Acting: Rose, her death and struggle was so well down that you actually felt sorry and sad for her.

Question: Do you guys agree was last nights episode final scene with Damon the darkest this season?
