When Jimmy gets frustrated with Hope, Burt gives him a pep talk. He completely empathizes with his son's situation. When he was overwhelmed, he used to rock physically, but later he took up music. So he told Jimmy to get a hobby.

The grocery store was having their annual Grocery Palooza. While Barney was still trying to decide what act to book, Jimmy found out he was good at drawing from doing posters for work.

Burt starts to rock again. He is jealous that Jimmy got all this attention from his advice and that he never made anything of himself with his music. "Blah, blah, blahbitty, blahbitty." He blamed Jimmy for that too.

Apparently, when Jimmy was just a baby, Burt wanted to try out for Smokey Floyd's band. But because he had to bring Jimmy along, Smokey didn't let him.

This gives Jimmy an idea to get Smokey Floyd (Jason Lee) to be the act for Grocery Palooza. Both Burt and Virginia are starstrucked by Smokey. Jimmy tells Burt that this will be his chance to fulfill his dream of playing in a real band. Burt is so gratedul he kisses Jimmy on the lips.

After a bout of coldfeet, Burt is ready to take his place in the spotlight. Back on the produce stage, the aging rocker was rude and full of himself. When he insulted Burt's family, this was too much. So Burt wacks him on the head with his guitar. "Smokey that, jerk." And the crowd goes wild.

Jimmy shows Burt how this has made him famous as the guitar hero. He was on the news. People were watching him online.

Burt feels pretty good about his music again to enjoy jamming with local musicians. And Jimmy starts bonding with Hope again. He turned Burt's latest adventure into a story he tells his baby.

Favourite Moment: Jimmy's expression when Burt kisses him.
