Update: 18th May We'll here is the final Cancellation Table for the 2010/2011 TV Season. We hope you've enjoyed this feature and have been following along with us. Overall I'm very pleased with the accuracy of the table despite a few shock renewals (Chuck, Fringe).

We'll be doing this again with an improved formula to make it even more accurate for the 2011/2012 TV Season.

Welcome to this years SpoilerTV Cancellation Predictor.

Last year each week we updated our data (see the notes below about how we get our data) in order to see if we could predict which show(s) would be renewed or cancelled. As you can see from last years summary, we did pretty well, with the exception of Flashforward, 24, Ghost Whisperer and Law and Order we got a lot correct.

Click here for last Last Years Summary

This index is by no means a 100% accurate guide about if your show is safe or in danger and should be seen as a bit of FUN.

(Click to Enlarge - updated 18th May 2011)

So how safe is your show? Sound off in the comments. Also if you spot any mistakes or have any questions please let me know in the comments.

Notes:
1) The Higher the Index Rating the more likely a show is to get cancelled, lower numbers = safety.
2) Not all shows appear in the labels of this post due to limit in the software.
3) This is an ongoing exercise that I hope to refine each week to make the index more accurate.
4) Only the major networks are included currently ie ABC/FOX/CW/CBS/NBC. We hope to include cable and others if time permits.
5) This is a weekly update of all the shows using our own formula based on the viewing numbers and + 7 Numbers. These 2 factors are the main weighting of the Index number, however we also factor in things such as the Network they are on (eg CW shows get lower numbers), the day of week they air (eg Fridays are lower numbers), DVR Numbers and +7 numbers,DVD/Blu-Ray Sales,Production Costs, Cast Contracts/Availability, Syndication, online popularity such as streamed views and Torrents etc.
6) Shows still might not get renewed despite good numbers due eg a show coming to an end of run eg Smallville is in it's finale season no matter what the ratings are etc or could be due to key cast wanting to leave after their contracts have expirted. An example might be Supernatural if it’s two leads, Jared and Jensen wanted out, would Supernatural be renewed even if it had good numbers but no leads for the new season? etc
6) New Shows that have been picked up for a Full Season are marked in Dark Green
7) Shows that have been renewed for a New Season are marked in Blue
8) Shows with an Index over 3.00 are likely to be cancelled, 2.50-2.99 - in danger and less that 2.50 safe. Although shows nearer 2.50 are more in danger than a show with a lower index.

If you have any questions, please don't hesitate in asking in the comments below.

Update: 19th October We've just added below our summary prediction table. This is a little different to the Full Table as it's based on some "gut" feels and not just the raw numbers. We'll update this chart below as shows get renewed/cancel,to see how accurate we are this year. You can view last years predictions here.

Here are this years predictions. Agree/Disagree with any of them?

Remember these predictions below were made after 4 Episodes of each show.

So far ....

20 Shows that we predicted to be cancelled have since been cancelled
40 Shows that we predicted would be renewed have been renewed
7 Shows that we had "In Danger" have been renewed
10 Shows that we had as Likely To Be Renewed have been cancelled.

Predictions Posted on 19th October (Status updated on 18th May)

  1. Does online viewership factor in at all? I mean Gossip Girl is watched primarily online, so is there any chance that could save it?

    ReplyDelete
  2. The fact that Fringe is shown as "in danger" as well as being in the Friday night slot does not bode well for us. I hope they know how vocal and passionate us fans are.

    ReplyDelete
  3. They have to keep new shows away from Monday nights. Dancing With the Stars is killing the competition.

    ReplyDelete
  4. I think i'm the last person on Earth to know that, but MEDIUM WAS CANCELLED!!! WHAT THE HEEEEEELL?!?! *cries*

    ReplyDelete
  5. :0 about lie to me and fringe!
    :D about NCIS and Eureka!

    ReplyDelete
  6. Lots of shows have had a full order and then not had a new season
    renewed. It's not uncommon.

FlashForward is the most recent example along with Heroes.

  7. Andrea Helgadóttir23 November 2010 at 02:33

How can Chuck actually be in danger if NBC ordered 24 episode of the fourth season?

    ReplyDelete
  8. Supernatural is pretty safe in terms of ratings.

    ReplyDelete
  9. lol sounds like you want it to be cancel. :(

Supernatural had 1 bad week relax. it means nothing. and its on friday night.

edit: point of no return :DDDDDDD sorry made me smile

    ReplyDelete
  10. Supernatural is starting to drop like in viewers. I really expected this much sooner in the season, given the lack of the brotherly relation and all the angst. My question: how soon before they hit a point of no return? Or are they guaranteed a renewal because WB owns the show and it's now syndicated on TNT?

    ReplyDelete
  11. Medium had been cancelled,so sad. I don't like TGW.

    ReplyDelete
  12. hoping the good guys does not get cancelled

    ReplyDelete
  13. I really hope Community doesn't get canceled. I find it to be one of the greatest shows on TV right now.

    ReplyDelete
  14. We already add all shows for all networks on the bottom chart and in
the cancelled/renewed left hand column. eg you can see caprica etc.

If we have missed any please let me know.

    ReplyDelete
  15. Hey, just a thought, I know loads of people are looking for some other shows (Scifi, Fx, AMC, HBO - this list continues on the second table) just wondering if you could put a sixth column for uncharted shows and then mark them as since renewed / since cancelled, I think it would be nice to have it all on one table :) just a thought, if it can't be done don't worry, or if you'd like me to send an example spreadsheet of what I mean, just ask :) x Thanks

    ReplyDelete
  16. No not GG I love that show :(

    ReplyDelete
  17. is going that way .. and its fine ... otherwise, it would change the nature of the show or worse, step backwards in the story

    ReplyDelete
  18. I agree with most of these, except Fringe. I don't think it'll be canceled, soon, but I definitely could be wrong. :P Gosh, I hope I'm not. Anywho, You seem to be pretty spot on. ;)

    ReplyDelete
  19. They need to promote it more... its so good!

    ReplyDelete
  20. Chuck, Blue Bloods in the danger zone? Both very enjoyable shows stuck in bad time/day slots. Lets hope they get some viewer boosts.

    ReplyDelete
  21. well, you sure aren't a fan with YOUR attitude. Screw you, I hope the show gets renewed so YOU would shut the hell up. BITCH!

    ReplyDelete
  22. No problem. There was absolutely no need for that person to act like such an irrational individual, especially attacking you for no reason.

Thank you very much! And yup, it's my real name ;)

    ReplyDelete
  23. Thanks. Hey I had to say, I LOVE your name, dont know if its the real one but :D thats all bobye

    ReplyDelete
  24. Wow, really, Katie? Chanelle was just answering to your post. No need to be so rude-- frankly, it marks you as immature.

    ReplyDelete
  25. I hope it gets renewed too... And sorry but your the one who bitched me cause I said the ratings werent good. Fringe is in the "danger zone" after all you cant take it out on me cause people arent watching the show. Grow up

    ReplyDelete
  26. wo... calme down girl. I said "sadly" which means im SAD about it.. I am a fan and i'm watching it right now actualy lol. And who cares about season 1? The show wont be save because the first season got viewers. people are not watching this season thats what I meant.

so YOU are wrong. And I was only answering a question jeez

    ReplyDelete
  27. People were SURE watching it in the first season with 9 million and a 3.6 in the demos until those idiots over at Fox decided to put it on Thursdays up against Grey's, The office and CSI. BTw, I am sure YOU aren't watching Fringe.

    ReplyDelete
  28. The formula gives it better rating as it's a Friday which is a lower
ratings night, also being at 10pm that tends to have lower ratings.
Also Medium is in more trouble along with CSI: NY. All these play a
    part.

Also Blue Bloods is not that far off the 2.50 Index rating of being in
trouble. A few more drops in ratings and it will move up the table.

    ReplyDelete
  29. Well, put simply that Fringe is in Danger of getting cancelled and
Gossip Girl is just about safe for the moment.

    ReplyDelete
  30. What does it mean for Fringe to be "in danger"? And Gossip girl is pretty close to being "in danger" too. Those are the only two shows I watch! Please tell me they aren't going to be cancelled!

    ReplyDelete
  31. Same here. It really seems to have suffered more than most this season
in the ratings. Not sure why :(

    ReplyDelete
  32. I really hope FOX hangs on to Lie To Me for at least another 9 episodes. The show did well during airings last summer.

    ReplyDelete
  33. Ah thanks. Sorry, I was looking at the wrong table.

    I'll get this fixed.

    ReplyDelete
  34. "Big Bang Theory" is listed under Likely to be Renewed, and "The Big Bang Theory" is listed in the Already Renewed section.

The missing "the" is the culprit for the overlook. :)

    ReplyDelete
  35. Hi Calvin,

    1) I could not for the life of me see TBBT listed twice. What shows
    are either side of them.
    2) Thanks. I could have sworn it was renewed already .... I'll have a
    look for a press release.

    Thanks.

    ReplyDelete
  36. 2 things...

1 - you've got The Big Bang Theory in twice, the second time as just Big Bang Theory.
2 - you've got TBBT renewed for 2011-12 and although that will happen at some stage, that announcement isn't likely to be made until May sweeps.

    ReplyDelete
  37. Well if they go down big after this break then I really think it will
    struggle to be renewed.

DVR numbers don't really count much

    ReplyDelete
  38. whats the point of the renew/cancel index????

    ReplyDelete
  39. Fringe just keeps getting better this year. How can it be in danger?

    ReplyDelete
  40. No idea .. lol.

I'll fix it for the next update.

    ReplyDelete
  41. Why is Criminal Minds in Dark Green?

    ReplyDelete
  42. Yep, thanks Carol. This was posted before the NBC announcment. We'll
    update it for tomorrows post.

    ReplyDelete
  43. Rizzoli & Isles is not on the major networks and there not tracked.
It's all explained in the Notes section.

    ReplyDelete
  44. I am not surprised to see TGW in danger .

    ReplyDelete
  45. I am not surprised to see TGW in danger .

    ReplyDelete
  46. Have you ever watched it? There are so many people that decided to lose weight cause of that show. They see it's possible and they realize they can freaken die. :DDD I love it haahaha it's so cute. (talking about biggest loser.... i think you got that ahaahah)

And I need to try Chuck too... :P

    ReplyDelete
  47. I'm glad to see that my shows are safe. For now. lol
I am surprised that Undercovers hasn't already been canceled since it's more of BET type of show.
I have yet to watch Chuck, and I am planning on doing so soon. That being said, even though it's in the In Danger zone, I'll still watch it because I've heard only good things about it!
Hopefully, The Event won't be In Danger for long, because I really enjoy the show!
I've got all of the episodes that have aired so far of Chase DVRd. Anyone know if it's any good?
Glad to know that Huge got canceled even though that's sort of old news. Wish The Biggest Loser would get canceled as well. Some people think that show is trying to help out those who are overweight, but in truth they are not. They might lose half or all of that weight that they need to lose, but they have more of a chance of gaining it back if they lost it than those who can lose it. And the name of the show is very degrading, too..

    ReplyDelete
  48. Where does it say it's in danger? Did you not see the colour coding?

    ReplyDelete
  49. I don't understand why The Good Wife is always in danger because the ratings of this show is great. It catches 12.5 million viewers in every weeks.

    ReplyDelete
  50. Glad to see The Good Wife moving towards "looking safe." :)

    ReplyDelete
  51. Please not Lie to Me!! I live for that show!! Save #LieToMe #teamkelli

    ReplyDelete
  52. If TGW gets cancelled, which I personally think is kinda impossible, I'll cry like a baby. Best show this season, no doubt about it. Maybe I'll change my mind once I get to see Boardwalk Empire, but anyway, it's a pretty decent story, a good directing and stong roles.

Still, let's wait and see. It's way to soon to say anything for sure.

    ReplyDelete
  53. I'm disappointed to see the Chase as a likely cancellation. I love this show and it's characters. I never watch Hawaii 5-0.. it just seems blah blah.. no depth. Also disappointed in the EVENT.. I never miss this show whether real time or taped.. I think alot of these shows get taped/Tivo'd/DVR'd and they aren't getting counted in the ratings which is a shame. And "THE GOOD WIFE".. how in the world can this be a potential.. Give me a break... This is a Phenomenal show.. it's actors, (Emmy award).. it's writing and Kalinda... I just love her to death (esp when she beat the crap outta that guy's car)... sooo good

    ReplyDelete
  54. It's because GG is regulary on #1 or #2 of the iTunes downloads each week. Most people get used to download rather than watching it on TV because they put in that timeslot. Wednesday was worse. Now GG gets more viewers and downloads again.

    ReplyDelete
  55. Any one knows if its Brothers and sisters last season? I heard somewhere it was and freaked out a little

    ReplyDelete
  56. Personally I think it will be OK. Life Unexpected is almost certain to
be cancelled and I don't think CW have too much in the pipeline
    currently to fill it.

If I was a betting man I'd say it will survive ... just.

However if ratings take a tumble then it will be in a lot more danger.

    ReplyDelete
  57. K, got it!

So what are your personal thoughts about 90210, do you think it'll get renewed?

I don't wanna say goodbye to Liam & Co, not yet. This show has been great IMO. And it's cheaper to produce than Gossip Girl etc.

    ReplyDelete
  58. A number of factors could put 90210 in more danger eg Downloads, DVR
Numbers, +7 Numebrs, DVD Sales, Torrents, International Syndication
    deals etc.

Whether this is or isn't the last year of OTH, it does not matter.
That is not what this table is showing. This table is trying to
predict based on various numbers if a show would be renewed or not.
There are many outside factors that would also dictate if a show would
    be renewed or not.

    ReplyDelete
  59. Can someone tell me why 90210 is in danger and OTH or Gossip Girl aren't? This is pretty sure the last season of OTH.

    ReplyDelete
  60. Thanks Sarah.

We don't actually colour code full orders for non-season 1 shows. We
only do it for new shows.

    ReplyDelete
  61. Ha no worries, also they are in different timeslots as well

    ReplyDelete
  62. Ohh I saw the colors wrong, my bad. Color blindness gets the best of me sometimes! Though it seems that the ratings and such for 90210 and GG have been pretty even, the popularity in general seems pretty even and I thought 90210 was the #1 show on DVR for the CW so it just confuses me, but I don't fully understand all of that stuff.

    ReplyDelete
  63. It's not "sandwiched". Those shows are still in danger, they are in
the Yellow section. The are highlighted in green to indicate that the
they are NEW shows and have received a full season order. The colors
are explained in the Color Codes.

A number of factors could put 90210 in more danger eg Downloads, DVR
Numbers, +7 Numebrs, DVD Sales, Torrents, International Syndication
    deals etc.

    ReplyDelete
  64. I would still like to know why 90210 is in danger and Gossip Girl isn't? and why is 90210 sandwiched in between two shows that aren't in danger?

    ReplyDelete
  65. I want another Season of Gossip Girl! I really hope they renew it.

    ReplyDelete
  66. Awesome, Army Wives, Glee and Warehouse 13 already Renewed! Now just Need Supernatural to move into that Category and I'll be HAPPY AS PIE! :)

    ReplyDelete
  67. What do you mean top bar? Chuck is listed under the NBC menu or are
    you talking about something else

    ReplyDelete
  68. Sorry, I was actually talking about it being missing on the top bar thingy, under NBC, I needz ma fix :P x

    ReplyDelete
  69. Yep. It got a full order a few days ago

    ReplyDelete
  70. NO!!! CSI: NY can't be canceled! It is so much better than Las Vegas and Miami!

I will not tolerate NY being canceled! Their ratings NEED to go up!

    ReplyDelete
  71. Parks and Recreation?

    ReplyDelete
  72. hey admin, will you let us know if fringe will be safe or if they get picked up for next season. i like fringe. the unpredictible nature of the show makes a good tv... i hope they wont get canned!

    ReplyDelete
  73. SMALLVILLE was not *canceled* the showrunners *chose* to make this season the last.

    ReplyDelete
  74. All of my shows are either already renewed or looking safe... except Fringe. :( I hope it gets renewed, because it's my obsession right now! I really don't think they could give it a good ending within season 3. We need at least one (or a couple) more seasons. ;)

    ReplyDelete
  75. It's so sad that The Good Wife is in danger. I really like that show.

    ReplyDelete
  76. No, it's just a full order, it means it will have 24 episodes this season as opposed to the initial 13 episodes order ;)

    ReplyDelete
  77. I'll update chases color tomorrow, I'd simply forgotten.

How can the rest be wrong? It's a automated table based on a formula.

Please read the notes about how it is calculated.

    ReplyDelete
  78. Yeah, a lot of info here is wrong. Chase has been given a full season. Undercovers has ordered more scripts, so it should probably be in the "in danger" part. Better With You is not in danger, it has held steady, averaging the same ratings The Middle had its freshman year.

    ReplyDelete
  79. Lie to Me and Chuck need to get out of the danger zone! I love them both too much for them to go away!

I thought Chuck was already renewed... was that just a rumor?

    ReplyDelete
  80. I think it's renewed but i'll double check and fix tomorrow

    ReplyDelete
  81. Your gut tells you The Good Wife is in danger? What did you had for dinner?

    ReplyDelete
  82. Yep, Haven is already Renewed :)

    ReplyDelete
  83. Haven has already been renewed for a new season next summer :)

    ReplyDelete
  84. 3 of my favourite shows are on the "In Danger" section (Fringe, Chuck, Community) - this makes me sad :(

Really glad Haven got a new season, I was sort of expecting it not to.

    ReplyDelete
  85. I thought "Eureka" on the SyFy Channel (goodness I miss "SciFi") was renewed for a 5th season back in August. Hope it's still true. ;-)

    ReplyDelete
  86. Fringe in danger... :( Now I'm sad...

    ReplyDelete
  87. It might still be but the ratings would normally mean it would be ok.

Remember it's not ratings alone that dictate renewal. Outside factors like
writers and actors contracts/willingness etc play a part.

    ReplyDelete
  88. Seems like one of the first time none of my shows are on the bubble yet. I thought this was One Tree Hill's last season though.

    ReplyDelete
  89. Not currently I'm afraid. I don't get the numbers for those shows. We only
    get the main network shows.

    ReplyDelete
  90. Any hope of SGU and Caprica getting on the index?

    ReplyDelete
  91. Thanks, yep, we posted that last night :)

    ReplyDelete
  92. This just in from the Associated Press:

LOS ANGELES (AP) — NBC is giving three freshmen series, including "The Event," a full-season pickup.

Besides the much-hyped thriller "The Event," the network gave a vote of confidence Monday to "Law & Order: Los Angeles" and the sitcom "Outsourced."

None of the series has posted stellar ratings in a season in which new shows have struggled to attract viewers.

But NBC noted that "The Event" and the Los Angeles-set "Law & Order" have improved ratings in their time slots, while "Outsourced" is doing well with advertiser-favored young adult viewers. The network finished fourth last season.

NBC's "The Event" airs 9 p.m. EDT Monday, "Law & Order: Los Angeles" is on 10 p.m. EDT Wednesday, and "Outsourced" airs Thursday at 9:30 p.m. EDT

    ReplyDelete
  93. The Top one is my personal predictions. The bottom table is the data based
    on statistical analysis

    ReplyDelete
  94. is lie to me in danger or not?

should i be looking at the top one or the bottom one..?

    ReplyDelete
  95. Opps, lol. Yep, Outlaw is cancelled, and chase should be in the Predicated
to be Cancelled on the first chart.

    I'll fix that shortly.

    Thanks for the heads up.

    ReplyDelete
  96. Why is Chase both "in danger" and "likely to be canceled"? And wasn't Outlaw already canceled?

    ReplyDelete
  97. Don't forget Rubicon on AMC. Definitely up there with Mad Men and Breaking Bad. Just no one watches it so nobody knows.

    ReplyDelete
  98. No_One_of_Consequence23 November 2010 at 02:35

I am not surprised the ratings for CSI:NY are so low, after all look at how how bad season six was! It also doesn't help that the shows been moved to friday night and it's female lead left!

    ReplyDelete
  99. It's one of the few shows that the CW can move to any time and it would have a similar number of viewers. Supernatural's biggest threat right now would be that the stars' contracts are almost up. My guess is that season 7 will be the last because I don't see the CW giving SPN more money and I think the leads may want new opportunities. They both are married now and could use work with less hours.

    ReplyDelete
  100. Idk I think fringe has been in trouble since last year, when they thought it was a good idea to put a million monster of the week episodes back to back.

    ReplyDelete
  101. CSI: NY in danger? That freaks me out, I was kinda hoping it would go on forever..
I thought it was popular and safe.. guess I was wrong. I hope they dont cancel it.

    ReplyDelete
  102. It totally bums me out that more people aren't watching Community. It's hilarious! So clever and subtle in strange ways. I hope NBC doesn't give up on it soon.

As for Fringe, I think it's safe. FOX knows Thursdays are chock full of competition and I think they are satisfied with the numbers Fringe is pulling in considering that. In fact, they moved it to that time slot to see if it could hold an audience. And it is does. If they put another show in its place--especially a new one--I doubt it would fair much better.

    ReplyDelete
  103. wait,,Chuck is in the danger zone?, i thought the rating are steady compare to the other show

    ReplyDelete
  104. not officially officially yet but the star tweeted he was told by someone who works at ABC there would be no season 2 but its not official yet

    ReplyDelete
  105. Is the gates officially canceled? can i delete it off my series recording now? haha

    ReplyDelete
  106. Kyle, remember it's not just ratings that we use. We use a whole host
of other factors. Those are explained in the Notes section of the
    post.

    ReplyDelete
  107. Just curious how 90210 ranks so low behind the rest of the CW shows, when in the 18-34 women rating, it's ranked like... 4th out of all the CW shows? Not to mention, minus last week among total viewers it tends to beat LUX, OTH, and GG?

    ReplyDelete
  108. Opps, seems to have fallen off the database.

I'll get it added for tomorrows update.

    ReplyDelete
  109. Why Rules Of Engagement is not there?

    ReplyDelete
  110. The sad thing is that we can expect CBS to cancel several shows each year to make room for new programming, even if they win their time slots.

    ReplyDelete
  111. YEP wich for me means season 7 here we come. With Smallville ending, nikita not doing great, one tree hill's actor not wanting to do an other season and life unexpected doing really really bad (and its a great show)... lets just say im not scared at all for season 7 HAHAHA. That's the only good thing about being on this network. they dont have any show. plus TNT is helping supernatural to get more views.

    oh change nikita for 90210

    ReplyDelete
  112. Why was CSI NY green over the weekend and now yellow again? It hasn't even aired again. It's beating it's time slot and seems to be the only CSI in the franchise gaining viewers not loosing.

    ReplyDelete
  113. The fifth season was the last season that Kripke ran the show. The boys were signed to do sixth seasons and both have signed to do a seventh season if it gets picked up. Jensen mentioned this at the Vancouver convention in August. It is up to the CW for it to be picked up.

    ReplyDelete
  114. Question: What is keeping Chase ahead of Chuck on this index? Is it Week 1 ratings?

    ReplyDelete
  115. Wait a minute, how is a show with a 1.8 in the demos and 10 million in viewers considered "likely to be renewed?" Blue Bloods I am referring to.

    ReplyDelete
  116. I'm pretty sure fringe will get canceled, sadly. people just arnt watching it.
But Gossip girl.. I dont think so. CW doesn't have enough shows and I think GG gets a lot of viewers on itune

  117. Read an article a few days back saying that The Event has received a huge ratings boost (more than 2 million a week) from DVR ratings, meaning that NBC is actually decently happy with it's performance. It's going up against some really tough competition in Monday Night Football, Dancing With the Stars, and 2 and a Half Men.

Dancing With the Stars will end in a couple of weeks, so I think the November 30th episode will be the big indicator of whether or not The Event will survive. Tonight is also big. If the ratings don't stay stable after a one week break, that can't mean good things for the show.

Your opinion on the shows survival?

  118. To show which shows are likely to be renewed or cancelled

    ReplyDelete
  119. undercovers is confirmed as a goner by nbc

    ReplyDelete
  120. I think that Lie to Me needs to be yellowed...it isn't even doing as well as Fringe at the moment...

    ReplyDelete
  121. Chuck has been given a full order. http://www.deadline.com/2010/10/chase-chuck-get-full-season-orders/ The new dropped last week so you might wanna update its status.

    ReplyDelete
  122. He's talking about Parks & Recreation. :P

    ReplyDelete
  123. Glad to see Supernatural in the relatively safe category for the moment. Also, 'Two and a Half Men' has been filed under both 'Likely to be renewed' and 'Already renewed', anyone know which it is?

EDIT: Never mind, just looked at the second table!

    ReplyDelete
  124. Nellie Andreeva says that Chuck and Chase just got full season pickups.

    ReplyDelete
  125. No problem.

It's still in danger because it's not been renewed yet, all it got was the
go-ahead to complete the first season. The ratings are still touch and go :(

    ReplyDelete
  126. Oh, sorry. didn't see the post last night, and your graphic shows "the Event" in the danger section. so....Sorry.

    ReplyDelete
  127. I realize that 3 of the shows I like the most on networks are in danger or likely to be cancelled : Community (3.06), Chuck (3.00) and Fringe (2.55). If one of these three awesome series gets cancelled, it will be a disaster, I guarantee that.

And even if I don't like the first episodes, I'd like to see more of what Undercovers (3.09) and Running Wilde (3.06) have to offer but if they stay at the same level as their first episodes, I don't really mind if they'll get canned (something I would never have thought I would say considering the creator behind each show).

I hope The Event (1.77), Outsourced (1.71) and No Ordinary Family (1.69) won't turn yellow next week, these are some of the new shows I'd like to see more of. Otherwise, I think Nikita (1.52) and the shows after this one are really, really safe so there are absolutely no reasons to worry about The Office (1.45), Hawaii Five-0, 30 Rock, Blue Bloods (1.24), etc.

I find surprising that Cougar Town is safer than The Middle, it seemed to me that Courteney Cox's show was disappointing considering its lead-in (the great Modern Family).

    ReplyDelete
  128. Probably Timeslot. Shows do better at 8 than they do at 10

    ReplyDelete
  129. I'm sure Nikita wouldnt work on Friday nights. I dont think the supernatural fans would watch it. its not a great match, If we get a season 7 I pray to god we get back on thursday! Plus we got little jokes in the show about thursday now it sucks haaha any way

    ReplyDelete
  130. Couldn't agree more with everything you just said.

    ReplyDelete
  131. I agree, but do you think Nikita would get ratings on Fridays at all? I mean. Smallville and Supernatural have strong fanbase who would follow the shows. Nikita? I'm not so sure.

    ReplyDelete
  132. I know what you mean, I've been watching it for what seems forever! i went through ms and hs with it :)

    ReplyDelete
  133. I think it was renewed before s2 even started....lol and yeah that is reaally fast

    ReplyDelete
  134. Maybe Smallville deserves its own column?
    lol jk

    ReplyDelete
  135. Hold on Chuck, prove you're still the little show that could. :)

    ReplyDelete
  136. Absolutely, that's why chuck is now only in yellow

    ReplyDelete
  137. All the NBC shows getting cancelled or already cancelled must be helping Chucks chances aren't they. I mean they can't get rid of everything.

    ReplyDelete
  138. yeah, that's why it's in orange "final season". Although it's on the "already canceled" column on the left...Dark wouldn't create another column just for Smallville ha

    ReplyDelete
  139. Want to remind you guys that Smallville was not cancelled..the producers decided to end it at season 10.

    ReplyDelete
  140. Awwwe! I'm kinda bummed about Chuck!! I just got into it and reeallly like it!!

    ReplyDelete
  141. What I heard is that they will stay together a long time if not for ever. lol. They said they wouldnt put this two together only to break them up after a couple of episodes

    ReplyDelete
  142. So i'm glad House seems to be pulling high marks as it's been quite the powerhouse show (I hope to all of you at least, I know my friends love it) one thing is i cant find any insider to ask if cuddy and house are going to stick together and if house will actually end up handling rachel well without blowing it...

    ReplyDelete
  143. Good to see Supernatural is staying fairly level. Hopefully it doesn't move. Hopefully Fringe can pull itself up a bit. More shows keep slipping into the red zone. xD

    ReplyDelete
  144. :D You are generous. I thought that the season with Jensen was the last one good. season 4 and by the end of it maybe 3 eps it started to suck. 5 was good though... then 6 with lana and lex and lana being weird any way sucked, 7 was horible. I did a smallville marathon this summer and didnt get through this one oups. 8 i dont remember 9 AWESOME its why i watched the show again after a 3 year break. lots of bad episode in it though. wow am I a mood killer or not sorry. if someone said that about supernatural i would want to kill someone

    ARGH I feel sick(really i am.)

    ReplyDelete
  145. I agree with the show started to get bad after the 8th season. They need the real Lex back to boost the ratings.

    ReplyDelete
  146. The Gates got canceled so you won't be seeing that anymore.

    ReplyDelete
  147. How on earth did Rookie Blue get renewed? bleck! I've happened to come across that show in my occasional channel spin through and every time I give it a try. It's just so awful. lol. w/e jmo. Surprised Warehouse 13 is still around. Tried getting into that show as well and couldn't stomach the campy acting/writing and "special" effects. lol @ Army Wives. It seems to have a soap opera like feel to it, so I guess I shouldn't be surprised.
If I'm wrong in any of these, feel free to educate me.

    ReplyDelete
  148. As Chanelle says, the overall number is not important.

What's important is how your show does compared to other shows in the
same timeslot. if all the other shows are only getting 1 million and
you get 2 million you are doing well. If you get 10 million and the
others get 15 million then you are doing badly.

It depends also on the timeslot, day of week, network and the age
    group of your viewers.

That's why I create this table as it's just not about raw number of
    people watching.

    ReplyDelete
  149. it really depends on the network. on fox 10millions is a pretty good show and on CW 4millions is like impossible to reach ahaha. It also depends on the time slot. if you have a great time slot without big competition and you get like 5millions.. then its not good at all. (fox)

    ReplyDelete
  150. How many millions of viewers a show must have to survive?

    ReplyDelete
  151. maybe because people like you like them.

    ReplyDelete
  152. Nikita is CW average in 18-49, Good in total viewers, low in women 18-34 and men 18-34 overall it is doing just OK not amazing but Life Unexpected is doing worse in almost everything (a little higher in w18-34) and should be cancelled first. but it is kinda worrying that Nikita hasnt received any orders beyond 13 episodes while OTH , Hellcats have and the show is expensive,

    ReplyDelete
  153. Have you seen all the seasons? A lot of them arent that good but I sticked with it for 8 years (cause i started in french with season 1 so 2 years late any way not important sorry) and well for you it seems not long cause you havent been watching but trust me, it HAS to end lol. Before all the fans turn on it and it gets canceled. Finale season isnt like cancelation for me any way.

Any way I get it, I started watching 24 last summer so it sucked for me that it ended at season 8 lol.

    ReplyDelete
  154. If it's in green, it's going ok. The lower in the table the better it
    is for a show.

    ReplyDelete
  155. Okay I'm getting mixed information lol is Nikita doing good or bad?

AND NO!!! GET LIFE UNEXPECTED OUT OF THERE! (the yellow zone I mean). I love this show, guys watch it lol.

    ReplyDelete
  156. They are nowhere near as important as the main live ratings but they
are taken into consideration. We weight them quite low in our
    database.

    ReplyDelete
  157. Do DVR numbers matter to networks ? I've read on another site that they don't really matter because advertisers dont pay for DVR viewers.

I'm really hoping they do, because Fringe has high number of DVR viewers based on last season numbers.

    ReplyDelete
  158. Oh no....Fringe is finally in the yellow...

    ReplyDelete
  159. It might have something to do with the fact that the shows are on two different networks, you think?

    ReplyDelete
  160. Yikes what is wrong with my writing today. :\ *down* *then* excuse me.

    ReplyDelete
  161. Phew good thing Chuck's gone down down a bit. Yellow is better the red that's for sure. :) :)

    ReplyDelete
  162. LOL. Yeah that's how it works. Don't worry it took me a while to figure that out too. Before that, I just looked at the pretty colours :P

    ReplyDelete
  163. Yep, the lower in the chart the better, the higher the more chance of
    cancellation.

    ReplyDelete
  164. OH the more small the number the less chance to be canceled is that it? im so not good with this. I understand the colors thing LOL

    ReplyDelete
  165. I'm happy Glee is already renewed :) I still can't believe they canceled Ghost Whisperer :( It was really an awesome show. House and Supernatural looks good where they are but I would really love it if Supernatural could be more towards the bottom. Maybe near House :P

    ReplyDelete
  166. Do we know if they are gonna air the last 8 episodes of lonestar yet? I'm so sad about that. I saw a movie with the main actor of the show and i cried during it HHAHAH HE IS such a great actor its crazy

    ReplyDelete
  167. Fringe AND Community are 'In Danger'. I'm not going to be happy around renewal/cancellation time am I? :/

    ReplyDelete
  168. We've not heard what they are doing with those episodes yet. As soon
as we do we'll be sure to post.

    ReplyDelete
  169. Yep, the thing with Chuck is that it only probably has to do better
than Undercovers and Chase. If it does then it will probably survive.

It's like you and your friend running away from the axe-wielding
madman.. you don't have to run faster than the madman, just faster
    than your friend ;)

    ReplyDelete
  170. Oh, just realised Chuck has been moved down a bit so that's good. Although, last season only a couple of the "In Danger" shows avoided cancellation.

    ReplyDelete
  171. Fringe being in the "In Danger" zone is a bit worrying. I haven't even seen all of Season 1 yet but I love it so far. I was kind of hoping for there to be a few more seasons to watch rather than just the 3. On the plus side, Supernatural seems to be moving farther down the list. =D

    ReplyDelete
  172. Ouch. Chuck is even higher on the LTBC point. I'm so worried. Why are they doing this to us? Hang in there Chuck, we aren't licked yet...I hope. :(

    ReplyDelete
  173. As long as my shows are safe. then I won't have to go into Cardiac arrest, so i'm good. lol My shows are Smallville(sigh end of an era) Supernatural, Bones, TVD, TBBT, House, Glee, Cougar Town. Adding to my list of shows this yr are....Mike and Molly, Hawaii 5-0, and Hellcats. Yea I got a nice list, lol

    ReplyDelete
  174. so glad it looks like Castle will stay on the air... Nathan deserves a show that airs for more than a few years!

also, hang in there Chuck! if you haven't ever watched it - definitely check it out.

    ReplyDelete
  175. As long as #supernatural doesn't drop any lower, the show will get S7. The CW simply can't afford to lose SPN too. Smallville is ending, LUX is tanking too, the actors of OTH don't want to return for another season - that's what I heard - so that's 3 shows already. The CW can't let go of a steady performer like SPN - provided SPN's ratings don't drop drastically, of course. I think that next season, the CW will move Nikita to Friday and pair it up with SPN - Nikita is just not pulling the right demos in its current slot, losing 0.5 demo point of TVD.

    ReplyDelete
  176. #supernatural Well, considering that the writers are already planning another season and both Jared Padalecki and Jensen Ackles are signed for S7 too, I think ratings are the deciding factor this time.

    ReplyDelete
  177. I think CW would be crazy to cancell Supernatural. The best show on tv with so much ground to show pretty much everything and anyone can come back. Great show.

    ReplyDelete
  178. I am pretty sure that Mad Men is going to be around for another year because Matthew Weiner said that he has verbally committed through a Season 5.

    ReplyDelete
  179. I've been watching Smallville since I was in 4th grade...I'm now a sophomore in college. I think it's had a long enough run...

    ReplyDelete
  180. If you read the Notes, ratings are NOT the only things we use to calculate the table

    ReplyDelete
  181. Supernatural has the ratings to warrent another season. However remember this Is the CW we are talking about. So while It was the number 4 CW show of the week behind Vampire Diaries,America's Next Top Model, and Smallville it could be ending with Smallville.

Parenthood Is also In danger. It often beat V last season.Like Meduem they should be worried. The one thing Parenthood has going for It over meduem Is NBC Is In third place. So they may have more patence than CBS with Meduem.CBS primarly cares about total numbers
