Just a warning, I'm sick right now, so I have no clue how my funny radar is aligned. I was hazy while watching the episode and still feel that way right now, so I'm not sure how reliable my judgment is. It's been years since I've been actually sick, and I found out that it's really hard to think with a fever.
Penny and her friends are all inexplicably Cornhuskers fans and Leonard wants to watch a game with them so he can meet her friends. He has no clue about football, but as it turns out, Sheldon, being from Texas, knows all about football, and chicken-fried meats. At the game, Leonard acts really weird trying to prove he understands football and Penny realizes this, eventually telling him to basically go.
Raj and Howard had a rather boring story involving kites. Howard loses Raj's kite to Sheldon after running after a woman and everything is made better after they go to the park. Did anyone else keep thinking of The Kite Runner by Khaled Hosseini every time they brought of kite fighting? I kept thinking one of the characters would bring it up and was surprised when they didn't.
I was confused when Leonard declared the Oklahoma coach threw a red challenge flag indicating he wanted the previous reviewed. I assume the writers know that college football has no challenge flags, but that wasn't entirely clear. Was the joke that Leonard didn't know college football doesn't have challenge flags, or that he was continuing to be overly technical?
I thought the episode was one of the weaker ones this season and while it attempted to explore the relationships between the character, it didn't quite work out.
Favorite Line: Howard - "Sheldon knows football? I mean Quidditch sure, but football?"
Score: 8.7/10
