This episode revolved around Luke's birthday party where Claire & Phil competed to give the kids the most fun.  
It counted down to explaining how one of the cast ended up in the hospital & was filled with red herrings like Jay giving Luke a crossbow & the Scorpian.

Elsewhere Cameron revealed he used to be a clown & decided to go to the party as one & Manny spent the episode trying to get a girl to notice him.  

I really hate when shows show events then go back to explain how they got there, this slightly tainted the episode for me but they handled it better than other shows do in their defence.

Rico Rodriguez's performance as Manny stole the show, so far his performances have been a bit to on the button i feel which is forgivable given his age but he was superb in this one. 
While looking for his real name I saw how many & which shows he has featured in & the list is quite impressive, for an 11 year old at least. 

My favourite moments  

Cameron sticking up for Marshall at the petrol station dressed as Fizbo.

Manny: "she has good handwriting, she's got the complete package".

Phil: "I regulary drive through neighbourhoods that haven't been gentrified so I'm pretty much not afraid of anything, execpt clowns.

Cameron's reaction to the scorpian resembled the one where lilly got locked the car, genius.
