[PENNY / PHOENIX] 23 years old, a famous pop star, Phoenix is famous for her onstage pyrotechnical special effects, and apparently is killed by a flash-fire in performance. But in fact, the real Phoenix was never onstage. Having performed since she was a child, and increasingly alienated from her career, she quit -- only to be replaced onstage by an impostor, and held against her will in a "panic room" by her greedy mother and her equally greedy manager. Addicted to Oxycontin and a variety of other illegal substances with the connivance of her keepers, Penny is released from her imprisonment by the detectives. Penny has a chance to put Phoenix behind her forever and rebuild her life -- because the greedheads who "managed" her life as Phoenix are all headed to prison...GUEST STAR

[MELANIE] In her late 30s to early 40s, the mother of Penny (the real Phoenix), Melanie is eager to distance herself from the murder of Vanessa (the girl killed while masquerading as Phoenix). Melanie claims to have had little or involvement in her daughter's life, and presents herself as an abandoned mom. But Melanie is lying; not only does she know her daughter is alive, and her daughter's whereabouts, Melanie conspired with Robbie to murder Vanessa onstage...GUEST STAR

[DR. BRISTOL] In his 40s, a slick "Doctor Feelgood", Bristol is the doctor for Penny, and has kept her drenched in a near-lethal cocktail of amphetamines and pain-killers. Employed by Phoenix's predatory management company and earning $150,000 a month to be a pusher, Bristol resents Horatio's slurs against his professional reputation; he is no match for the CSI team and will be trading in his white coat for Florida prison orange...GUEST STAR

[JULIAN] 28 to 35 years old, with long hair, Julian is a slippery music mogul, the head of IEA, the management company that plots Phoenix's every move. Julian has conspired with Melanie to keep her daughter Penny a drugged-up prisoner, and has aggressively marketed an impostor at Phoenix's concerts. Julian winds up getting his own form of imprisonment in exchange for Penny's...GUEST STAR

[ROBBIE] 19 years old, with spiky hair and eyeliner and wearing skinny jeans, he's a former member of Phoenix's tour group. A bitter young man who used to be a close friend of the real Phoenix, Robbie is part obsessive fan, part disgruntled ex-employee. He conspires with Melanie Jones to make Phoenix famous forever -- by shooting a taser dart at the highly inflammable dress worn by Vanessa, the phony Phoenix...GUEST STAR

[NANCY] 33 to 38, a snarky dress designer wearing black, Nancy helped create the magnesium-striped dress that caught fire during the performance and torched Phoenix / Vanessa. A sharp-tongued woman who had nothing but contempt for Phoenix, she insists that she was just following orders in making the dress, and executed Phoenix's poorly scribbled "designs"...GUEST STAR

[VANESSA (PHOENIX)] About 23 years old, an impostor, Vanessa has taken on the image and persona of the rock star known as Phoenix. Expert at impersonating the original Phoenix, Vanessa is killed when she's shot by a taser bolt. Dying of a heart attack, she has no idea that her dress has caught fire; the resulting disfigurement misleads the detectives to believe that she is the real Phoenix...GUEST STAR
